Fix the OL First...
Several posters have come to judgment that Beekman was a bad draft pick, a waste of space, and a bust. This is on the assumption that because he has not played he must suck. He was not a high draft selection. Lovie & JA have not hesitated a bit in cutting a player that did not fill the bill. If he sucks as much as has been speculated by some I assure you he would not be on our roster. Using the same logic, does this mean Haas sucks and should be cut before getting a chance to prove himself? I think Haas could be an excellent WR starter. Just because he has not been given a chance yet I am not going to proclaim him a bust and a waste of specie.

Anyone miss Brigg's today?
Let's say: if we could use the money required to lock up Briggs and obtain 2 high quality players in positions of need for the Bears (OL, WR, S, QB, ??) would we be better off rolling the dice and go with Williams at LB and fill two major needs or giving BIG $$$ to Briggs and leave holes unfilled? In addition, if letting Briggs go would somehow result in a high draft selection or quality player in return, it would just sweeten the pot even more. As much as I love Briggs, I feel we would be better off letting him go.

Momentum vs. Draft Pick Status
Interesting stats. Did you compile these figures or are they documented anywhere in an article on the net to be reviewed?

So I'm watching this game...
Depending on the cap ramifications, I would let him go if it would give us additional cap room to go after other needs in FA. He certainly is not indispensable.

Tavares Jackson sucks
I do not think Jackson has any better chance of being an elite QB than Rex does. I see him as Rex with better mobility, or in otherwords, he still sucks!!
-
Tillman to safety
I think he would make a good safety but is far more valuable to us at CB and therefore I say we leave him be and look for other solutions to our Safety problems.
-
Keeping up with Kyle Orton
Man, is there a chance he would not get 75% of the snaps? Has he missed that much time this year? If we could hold him out of the game do to injury and therefore keep him below the 75% figure, that would be sweet, then trade his ass for a decent draft selection &/or a quality player in a need position.

Turner could be gone
In his first stint as OC of the Bears I thought he did a fairly good job and when they brought him back I thought it was a good move. I am not totally convinced he is as bad as many have expressed. I do feel however that a change needs to be made. BUT !!!!!!!!! I do not want to make a change for change sake, I only want a change of OC IF we are certain to get a QUALIFIED EXPERIENCED PROVEN OC!!

Gotta give Lovie some credit
I sure loved talking to my co-workers who are Packer fans at work today!

2008 Bears opponents
Every year we look at strength of schedule for the upcoming season. It never works out like we guessed it would. I am sure everyone playing the NFC North before the season started dreaded playing us this year and thought the rest of our division were all no shows. Well, it certainly did not work out that way. The fact is any team can have major reversals from year to year (case in point, the 2007 Bears) and we will have to wait until it is over to judge the strength of our schedule next year.

Woo Hoo!!!
Now I would like to see us spank NOS to finish off the season with our team playing just as good in weather not so severe to show we do not need inclement conditions to kick butt!!

Packers @ Bears, 12/23/07
I am not so sure, Lovie & JA might revisit the decision on Alex Brown. Unless we could get a great return in a trade for him I hope we keep him around.

So I'm watching this game...
Agreed. the problems still need correcting however it was sure a nice Christmas present to all Bear fans (and players) to sweep the Packers.

Woo Hoo!!!
Living close to the IL/WI line lots of GBP fans at work will have to eat some crow tomorrow. I will enjoy serving my share to them as I am sure bowlingtwig will. Unfortunately, it does not make up for a very disappointing season. Just a nice consolation prize.

How sweet was Urlachers INT & TD return!! Now this is FUN!!

Packers @ Bears, 12/23/07
Think the GBP punter wants to disappear somewhere? He is having one of the worse days for a kicker I have ever seen thanks to Bear weather and Bear special teams play!! TD!!!! Looking even better!!!!

Packers @ Bears, 12/23/07
Orton is playing kick ass in this weather! Our OL is opening holes for AP! We are running successful screen plays! We are using the TEs! Ron Turner is using a little imagination! Wow! What the heck is going on? Whatever it is, I Love it!!

Packers @ Bears, 12/23/07
MM lets the damn ball hit him in the chest and drops a TD pass. Orton did his job. Unfortunately MM sucked big time.

Packers @ Bears, 12/23/07
LOL, it has indeed kept Hester from returning punts.

Packers @ Bears, 12/23/07
Gotta like the first drive. If we can control the ball and the clock like that the entire game we will win this game!!

Packers @ Bears, 12/23/07
What the heck is going on? From a fantasy site I frequest, todays inactives for the Bears: December 23, 2007, 12:05 ET Chicago Inactives Summary: QB Rex Grossman, WR Mike Hass, OL Josh Beekman, DE Mark Anderson, DT Darwin Walker, LB Lance Briggs, CB Nathan Vasher, S Josh Gattis I do not understand, Vasher is back on list? Haas? I was hoping to see him get some reps. M Anderson & Briggs? What the heck is going on??

Packers @ Bears, 12/23/07
I have yet to give up on Bradley. I want to see him get more reps first. He looked awesome in his rookie season before injury. He then had problems staying healthy. He seems to have shaken that problem but has never had the chance, IMO, to try and re-establish himself on the field. Haas & Bradley could both give us some hope in the future at the WR spot. We will never know if not given a chance.

Packers @ Bears, 12/23/07
I would personally like to evaluate Benson as a RB behind a good OL before I chose to put him in the same class as Enis or Salaam. You may be right, Benson may = Enis &/or Salaam. However, I do not know if we can make that evaluation on the basis of what we saw this year. I doubt ANY RB in the NFL would have had great numbers behind the OL play we saw this year. I also must say I do not want to gamble another year if he proves to be ineffective behind a good OL (assuming we can get our OL in order before next season). Therefore I am one hoping we can bring in another RB to give us a viable option in case you are right. Personally, depending on the $$$ involved, I would love to see M Turner in a Bears uniform next year. Benson is a power runner between the tackles (when there is a hole to hit). Turner has great speed. It would be a great combination.

Turner could be gone
OUCH - His success as HC does not concern me. I do not want a new HC YET but am concerned about OC. However, I did not know of this claim by Donahoe. Just as Lovie is responsible for the philosophy of our Defense BUT the DC is responsible in implementation, in most cases where a HC is of Offense orientation, he is responsible for the general philosophy of the "O" but the actual play calling and implementation is the responsibility of the OC. So my question would be was Mularkey calling the plays for the Bills the year they were 28th in the league and considered predictable? I would assume when he was OC of PIT this was not a problem considering his record. The last thing I would want is to replace an OC who has shown to be predictable and unable to make needed game-time adjustments with a clone.
