Introducing your2024 Chicago Bears.
I'd love to see Scott turn it around this year. Most of us had high expectations for his rookie season. For whatever reason, he struggled. I am hoping that with the rookie year behind him and with the addition of KA, he can become a productive WR for us.

Introducing your2024 Chicago Bears.
One of the reasons for this is the fantastic trade he crafted with Carolina last year. Will the enormous success of that trade influence him to repeat trading #1? Or does he cash out, accepting his bounty without going for the gold via trade 2.0?

Bears trade for Keenan Allen WR
I like Allen, but his age is a concern, and giving up another draft pick, cripes. If this keeps up, we won't need to turn in to see the Bears draft; we won't have any picks after the first round (unless his tossing picks around so freely indicates his possible trade of our first-round picks).

Free Agency 2024
Solid move, 2 good options at Center, both an upgrade over last year's debacle Roster Move: Bears agree to terms with veteran OL Coleman Shelton
-
Bears sign vet OL Matt Prior to 1yr deal (was with 49ers last year)
But will Poles want to pay starting LOT money for him to resign when his rookie deal expires?

The Keep Justin Crowd...
My memory sucks, but I know for sure these are in the "Keep Fields" corner: Chase Daniels Jared Allen Vinnie Iyer (of Sporting News) Joe Broback (of Pro Football Network) I think for every "Keep Fields" advocate, there are two who insist we need to "Trade/Cut Fields" Me? Keep Fields, but draft a top QB prospect, preferably with one of the picks from a record-setting trade of #1.

Odds of what team gets Fields
Sorry! Unintentional, I assure you.

Bears finally make QB move
A waste of valuable resources.

Odds of what team gets Fields
Or maybe Justin has no idea what Poles will ultimately decide to do and is, therefore, on vacation, which he said was his plan while things settled, and has nothing to tell reporters.

Has any generational QB prospects ever won a SB?
I agree.
-
Projecting the top 10 picks
My favorite combo that I think is reasonably possible is Caleb Williams QB & Rome Odunze WR

Do you think it is possible that the Bears will be so bad that they will fire Flus before the end of the 2024 season?

Free Agency 2024
It seems Poles is staying true to form. He has said in the past that many players in the first wave of free agency are quite often overpaid because of teams' frantic efforts to outbid each other for specific players. With his emphasis on improving the Bears' roster with player upgrades, he is doing so with players from the second and sometimes the third (after draft) FA periods. Sitting here today, I see so many players I would have loved for Poles to sign. However, if he had signed all of them, the Bears would have been back in Salary Cap Hell. LOL

Odds of what team gets Fields
Watching FA coverage on NFL network, it is obvious no one knows what the Bears are going to do. I heard one 'expert' say JF would be traded before FA Another said before the draft, yet another said best value would be during the draft One said it would be fine if JF shared the Locker room with a QB drafted, another said it would be a disaster All of this on one telecast. LOL

Wilson to Pittsburgh
Damn, he signed cheap. I assume it's because he will still rip off Denver for big $$ remaining on the contract. I just saw on NFL network he signed for 1 year at 1.2M Pittsburgh could be dangerous this year.

Bears Sign S Kevin Byard!
Don't forget Patrick Scales ?

Free Agency 2024
YES! That is how you play chess with your roster. Strategically plotting future moves to maximize the value of your players.
-
Yet another Caleb Williams Red Flag
Add a 2025 first-rounder to that, and I would agree. Overpay by use of the chart, I didn't check, but probably yes. However, this year's #1 competition will reap an overpayment.

What the hell did I just say that you did not understand?

The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!
Why do you always think I'm mad at you? Because I disagree with you? Hell, I disagree with many forum posters. They don't accuse me of being mad at them simply because we disagree. We have healthy debates, respecting each other. I've seen you mention I am upset with you because of your argument with Stinger. No. I was disappointed with both of you for continuing to argue despite several moderators asking both of you to stop for the sake of the forum's health. I wasn't mad at either one of you, just frustrated. (You have no idea how many private messages I received asking me to put an end to your heated exchanges.) So no, I'm not mad at you and for you to continue to say I am is, as you always claim, silly.

And you missed my point... A team would be crazy to gamble on Fields with solid veterans available, especially if they can obtain him w/o giving up draft picks. You seem to think anyone who has positive things to say about Fields thinks he is a generational/francise QB. Many of us who like Fields, and see some positive traits, realize we still need to draft a QB. I said it before, on a scale of 1 to 10, ten being the best, you see Fields as a 0, not even reaching 1. Whereas, many of us who see some positive traits in Fields, play, would probably rate him between 4 and 6. Not good enough to be a francise savior, but not garbage.

Yes, we know you don't like Fields as a QB. Yes, we get it. Believe me, we all know!

The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!
Did you see where Brian Burns was traded t NYG, signing for 150M / 5 years! It's really getting crazy stupid, 30M a year?
-
The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!
It's really quite simple. Cousins, Mayfield, and Wilson were all free agents with no draft capital involved. All three established veterans. Mac Jones went cheap as a backup, low risk for late round pick.

The Earth is Flat
Well, Hondo Carpenter, I know when I owned my hobby store, if someone came into my store to purchase a collectible that I had priced at 1,000.00 and he offered me 500.00, I would politely reject the lowball. I've said repeatedly that I am tired of the Bears giving players away in trades while other teams get great returns. If Poles didn't get a proper bid, one that he felt was fair for the Bears, I applaud him for not accepting. I have no doubt that next year the FA market will not have as many quality options for QB needy teams. If he cannot get good value this year, keep him.
