  1. Agreed. He essentially played for 750k last season so we got a bargain. Time to reward him a bit. Peace
  2. I agree with Angelo on the defense (other than FS). The offense is a whole different situation. Peace
  3. Sorry - should have clarified. I should have added 'during the middle of the season next yr (if they are playing well)'. I would definately not sign them until they show improvement during next season. Peace
  4. FA hasn't even started and alot of the very good players are off the board (signed or tagged). Look for Angelo to grab a couple of low to mid tier FA and use the rest of the money to extend players like Orton or Manning during the season with front end loaded contracts (they will find a way to use up the cap). Peace
  5. I thought Payne looked good at SS early in the yr last yr (before he switched with Brown). You have to remember, last yr was really his first in the NFL at the position. Steltz may be penciled in but he will not start. Look for us to bring a vet in (Eugene Wilson or Will Allen were mentioned in the article). I wonder if Beauman can play FS? Peace
  6. No. Tank has embarassed himself and the Bears enough. JA will not bring him back. Peace
  7. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear21.article Peace
  8. Payne played rb his first two yrs of college and then was converted to safety. I thought he actually looked good playing SS at the beginning of the yr. I have no issues with him as our starting SS next yr. FS is the issue - I pray it is not Manning. Peace
  9. No issue bringing Hamilton in to compete for a back up/special teams role. He will most likely get an offer with no guarenteed salary so it will not be an issue. Looks like we won't have the chance to even compete for Gross. Peace
  10. I am fairly certain that the tag can be rescinded. The Bears did this to Raymont Harris. If they tag Peppers and he is traded, the other team can work out a new deal with him. Peace
  11. Yeah, like we have 1 who has never started and a practice squad dude. Not good. Peace
  12. Mike Brown is one of my favorite Bears. I hate to see him go but he could not stay on the field. Time to move on. Peace
  13. Still have 2 weeks. Hopefully Angelo uses this time wisely. Peace
  14. Sorry it didn't work out for Marty here the 2nd time around. He was a very, very good receiver early in his career. I would think he is most likely done. Peace
  15. Thanks. Unfortunately, I do not believe either the Dems or the Republicans will be able to fix the debacle we are currently in. Time for all of us to pay the check.... Peace
  16. From the truth of fiction link you provided - "The news report went on to say that the yellowcake "had been stored in aging drums and containers since before the 1991 Gulf War. There was no evidence of any yellowcake dating from after 1991". From the MSNBC link: Israeli warplanes bombed a reactor project at the site in 1981. Later, U.N. inspectors documented and safeguarded the yellowcake, which had been stored in aging drums and containers since before the 1991 Gulf War. There was no evidence of any yellowcake dating from after 1991, the official said. This yellowcake had been there since before the 1st Gulf war and had been documented at that time. This is nothing new and does not let GWB off the hook. Peace
  17. I voted for Andre Smith but would do my best to trade out of the pick. Peace
  18. Agreed. If Furry is the only choice, I would much rather see what Bennett and Rideau can offer us. Peace
  19. Extremely happy here. No need to move. Peace
  20. Since we should have 2 3rds this yr (Berrian comp), I agree. Agreed on Pace as well. Peace
  21. Agreed 100%. We need Turner to stay for now. I do not want to see another change in the offensive scheme. Peace
  22. Let me clarify my position. If they ever put a retractable dome in Chicago I would want them to always leave the dome open when the Bears play (even in the worst of weather). The retractable dome should only be used for other events (Super Bowl, NCAA tournament, etc). Peace
  23. The Bears don't own the stadium. The Chicago park district does. The Bears rent from them. The original deal cost I believe 450 to 500 million. The Bears paid for 100 million of the renovation using a loan from the NFL. The city paid for the rest through an increase in the hotel/motel tax. The stadium is used for multiple events besides the Bears games. Concerts, college football, soccer (the Fire played there up until 2 yrs ago), high school football tournaments, etc. My understanding is they also play international soccer there and that is the reason they won't switch to new turf (because FIFA requires grass). Peace
