  1. I really like Hanie's moxie and hope that we hold onto him. I think he has what it takes to go to the next level although it will be a yr or 2 before he is ready. Peace

And I would be there with you. It would be like the movie Office Space when they took the printer out into the field. You would have to stop me from putting him in a hospital. Seriously, TJ should be the priority. Then get a veteran backup QB and go from there. Peace
  3. Millen is gone. He was rock bottom. They will get better over time. Peace
  4. I would agree. Particularly wanting to see Minny and Az get beat like dogs. Peace
  5. Like I said, if they like Hanie enough, then get a vet to compete with Orton (Garcia, Collins, etc). Do not draft a QB unless you feel Hanie cannot be developed. I like what I saw from Hanie last yr, so I would not draft a QB unless you find value in a lower round (5 to 7). Peace
  6. I think it is simply based on a desire to get rid of Babich and the knowledge that Lovie will want someone who is a known commodity. Realistically, if Angelo tells Lovie he has to make a change you know Lovie is going to say he wants Marinelli (who was his original choice before Rivera). Peace
  7. I agree on this assessment. Wondering if any of the guys at the end of the roster may have a chance as well (Rideau and the dude who had played for the Colts previously). I would consider bringing back Lloyd at veteran minimum if, and only if, we are not able to get someone better. If not TJ, then Henderson, Gaffney, or someone at that level. Peace
  8. Great post but you were supposed to bring us a win. Thanks for sharing the info. Peace
  9. No issue. Really, I don't take press conferences very seriously. Further, I hate columnists like Couch who parse words from those conferences. It's all a bunch of BS. Performance on the field is all that really matters to me (exception players or coaches that put themselves above the team and get in trouble in their personal lives - see Ced Benson). I agree with you on the need to vent. I have a friend I talk to after every game and we usually review all the negative aspects of the teams performance (rather loudly normally). Peace
  10. Yes, I have watched him play. He has looked very good at times. Of course, he is playing under the best coach in the league with a huge amount of talent around him. Bottom line, we are not going to bring him in. He is going to make Rodgers money this offseason (approximately 60 million). We have too many other needs to throw that type of cash at him. Peace
  11. Actually, he finished with 51 catches and 653 yards (you missed the last game stats. I can think of 2 td catches he dropped. Maybe he has 2 to 3 more touchdowns if Kyle hits him. Don't forget Rex missed him wide open in the Titans game. Realistically, a we may catch 4 to 5 bombs max a year. Peace
  12. Hey, I appreciate the input. Peace
  13. You are 100% incorrect. Whenever I get a chance, I listen to the Monday night Bears show with Joniak and Lovie on 780 am. He has said several times after losses, and I am paraphrasing, "We have to get better and its starts with me. I didn't do my job yesterday and have to improve. We all have to improve." You are most likely right that he will be around for 2 more years. I am hoping he is able to turn it around and get us back in the playoffs and to the SB. Maybe I am being a sucker but I simply refuse to beat myself up over this when I know in the end I will have no impact on what they do. Peace
  14. What else do you expect him to say 1 hr after the end of the season??? He did say the following: Our team failed today. Overall our team didn't play well enough this year to accomplish our goals. We're not going to separate anyone. He didn't say I really don't give a crap what the fans think, I am going to do what I want. To me he is saying the players, the coaches, and the entire organization failed. That's all I need to hear 1 hr after the end of the season. Now it is up the organization to make adjustments for next yr. The proof will be in the actions they take to improve. Peace
  15. The Bears have hit on 7th rounders in the past. McBride and Mike Green come to mind. You do make a good point. Are you wanting to then keep 2 rookie QBs on the roster behind Orton? I can't imagine going into next yr without a veteran backup for Orton. I think that would be a huge mistake. Peace

I actually think Wolfe is now up to 192 pounds. Turner has to find a way to get him into this offense. Peace
  17. Lovie didn't say all is well. Please read the attached post game quotes from the Suntimes. Couch took 1 sentence and wrote an entire article on it which is BS. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...tions28.article Peace
  18. No way should we draft 2 Qbs - that would be a waste. 1 would be fine but 2 will not make the roster. Further, we have too many other needs to fill. Peace
  19. Connorbear replied to 'TD''s topic in Bearstalk
The D did play like crap. Houston has a great looking offense. We need a #1 receiver. Peace
  20. Fairly amazing isn't it. I thought the DBs made 2 great plays on him in the endzone punching the ball out both times. He needs to learn how to use his body to shield the defender from the ball. Peace
  21. You are most likely correct. Some thoughts: - WTF happened to Mark Anderson? We should have never tried to make him a full time DE. I blame this on Babich and Brick Haley. - Our other needs warrant us drafting a QB lower or not at all. To me, OL, FS, DE, and WR all would come before QB. I don't think we can afford to draft a QB before the 5th. Personally, I would simply bring in a FA to compete with Orton. - I think Orton will be better with a better surrounding cast. Peace
  22. 3 points: 1 - I wouldn't expect any coach to come out after a 9-7 season and say they need a complete overall especially 1 hr after the end of the season. 2 - Angelo needs to step up this offseason and tell Lovie that he must change d-coordinator. Babich has all the tools in the world and completely sucks. 3 - Alex Brown is my hero. Great, great stuff from him. Peace
  23. Thanks but that wasn't the argument. Peace
  24. DE is absolutely one of our top 5 needs. Brown can stay but Ogy has got to go. He is not worth the salary he is paid. We need pressure from our D-line and we are not getting it. I would replace QB with DE as a top 5 need. Draft a QB in the 4th round or lower to develop if you want. Peace
  25. Connorbear replied to 'TD''s topic in Bearstalk
Agreed. What was embarassing were the losses to Atlanta and Tampa. We win either of those games, we are in the playoffs. Peace
