Demps was supposed to be the glue back there, but it never cured. If the release him, it would be great because Amos and Co have surpassed his veteran value. If they keep him, then Bush and whoever is behind him haven't progressed enough to be viable backups. I keep my fingers crossed on Floyd and Bullard, they both need to become foot holds on the front. I cringe when I see Unrein, not because he is bad, but I want Bullard to be to good to sit out. Hopefully in time these youngins get there.

Just thinking how we were skeptical of our DBs before the season. If they can gain some confidence and continue playing the way they are, our backfield could be a strength going forward. Hope we can keep Prince and Fuller, the have been solid. Amos has new life, Callahan is one of the better nickel backs, Cooper competing to start, Jackson playing like a pro, and we have Demps if We want to keep him around. Then we have Hall, Bush, Carson-Houston, LeBlanc for youth to groom. I would be good if we spend on Fuller before the end of the year if we have the cap and as long as he continues his game.
-
I think this will be an issue with him until he grows out of it. Center is one of the tougher positions to get right and he is still a little raw. Sitton can play C if needed, which they should have played him there with Whitehair at G and the they have Grasu possibly there to take the reins.

I don't know much about Bryant. I would want a team player, which he isn't displaying to well with that demand. If he can be that teammate, then maybe worth a shot with a 6th or 7th. It would be a huge risk though with 2 violations. They have a huge need, someone needs to come through to give Wright help.

Looks like Steelers WR Martavious Bryant is unhappy there and has ask his team to be traded. Any thoughts on him?

I meant if they were healthy right now, would the Bears offense be as bad. Only 2 passes to a WR today, this has been almost every game also. Looking at next season, yes bring in a top FA at WR and try and get an upgrade at OT or two.

Rodgers injured, broken collarbone on throwing shoulder

It would have been better if Barr did the "championship belt" move after that hit. Sucks for the Packers, but don't come looking at the Bears for sympathy after the rash of injuries we've endured the past few seasons. -
Looking at this teams performance so far this year, it is obvious they need to add more to the offense side. Would Cam Meredith and Kevin White make much difference? I think next year they need one top tier WR FA addition, maybe Landry and a round 2-3 draft pick. They should also address the OT with two picks, one round 1 or 2 and one after rd 4. On D, I would like to see another OLB drafted between rounds 1-3.

Probably not. Sad, this is the NFL and what we get. At least the Defense is doing there part. 14 points on ST, 2 FGs and a 2 pt conv. Fuller, Amos, Jackson, actually all the DBs played well. Hicks, Goldman, Trevathon, Jones also solid effort.
-
I know they say we need a offensive minded HC for Trubisky, but Dave Toub may be an offensive minded genius as well as a ST's one already.
-
Like the Jimmy Johnson said at the half, the have to give Trubisky a run/pass option because the Bears are facing 8-10 in the box. They also need to go deep to start this series.

I am not sold on moving on from Sims already. We have seen 5 games and 4 of those was with Glennon. This is a team that will line up 2-3 TEs in heavy run formations and Sims was brought in more so for blocking part. His receiving game was seen as adequate with a potential uptick. Miller will be gone next year, leaving Shaheen, Sims, and Brown/Braunicker.
-
I imagine he will stay the course, he tried on a couple blue chips but came up short last year. They will have to hit the WR market again but maybe set their goals higher for a playmaker. The draft is the best way to go. They might have the hardest part nailed down with the QB, so now it needs to be about getting him the pieces to blossom and a D to put the ball back in his hands.
-
That and these guys practiced all summer together. They need to get Sheheen more involved also imo.
-
Finally, we bring back one of our real WR's. He has natural hands unlike Bellamy and his deep threat may soften the box. Denote Thompson released to make room, which I'm sure he will be placed on the PS if he clears. Gentry promoted

This would be one way I would address needs, especially if we can trade down. Doubled up on OT's, CB's, WR's, and OLB's. Round 1 Pick 9 (CINN): Connor Williams, OT, Texas (A+) Round 2 Pick 5: Courtland Sutton, WR, Southern Methodist (A+) Round 2 Pick 9 (CINN): Ronnie Harrison, SS, Alabama (A) Round 3 Pick 9 (CINN): Lorenzo Carter, OLB, Georgia ( Round 4 Pick 5: Jordan Thomas, CB, Oklahoma (A) Round 4 Pick 6: Porter Gustin, OLB, Southern California ( Round 5 Pick 5: Tyrell Crosby, OT, Oregon ( Round 6 Pick 5: Davontae Harris, CB, Illinois State (B+) Round 7 Pick 5: Jake Wieneke, WR, South Dakota State (A+)

You are right on FA for finding plugs, I expect the Bears to repeat like they did last season. Find a couple guys you can give more than a year to, like Cooper, Wheaton, Demps and Sims and then a handful of one year prove it deals. You rarely find the OT and OLB in FA and will likely have to invest high there. Hopefully Eddie J develops into a long term FS. We eventually will need to find that SS, but with Demps signed and the guys we drafted we will only be looking at late round hopefuls. I would not be surprised if we draft another ILB, like we did with Kwit. Since Urlacher and Briggs, we haven't had a dual that can stay healthy or on the field for the majority of the season. Freeman will be on his final year, they may look for a kid to groom. The Bears will have some work to do, Fuller and Prince have played decent and we may have competition in re-signing them. As for early draft thoughts, I juggle between drafting OT like McGlinchey or OLB like Key. Since we don't have a 3rd rd pick, I would love to trade down especially if we stay in the top 5 as we are slated now but Trubisky may turn this season around.
-
I was on the Watson wagon too, especially after the championship game. I bounced between him and Kizer, never thought Trubisky would be in the picture as I was hoping to move down some. Now that we have Tru, I see his potential and see why we made sure he was our pick.
-
I tend to agree. Floyd has yet to show dominance and the vets are falling (McPhee, Young now done, and Houston gone before the start). The Leno signing tells me we were already planning to look elsewhere round one than o-line which was my early priority. Now we are looking at Arden Key or Harold Landry OLB if we picking top 5 unless we can move down. WR will most likely be our next target round 2. CB, S, ILB, OT are all other needs. What was starting to look like a year away keeps drifting on me. I can't wait for the year we draft and say we can take BPA's.
-
I am still good with the Sims signing. He is more the blocking TE anyways. I was on the keep Hoyer bandwagon. Thought he would help make a smooth transition grooming a rookie QB When was the last time we invested early in a OT? Gabe Carimi and Chris Williams, guess we cant do that right either. I suppose when you trail early, they ditch the game plan to try and catch up with more of a spread.
-
It seemed like Kwit will be available or is close. I assume we will bring in a LB or two this week to look at also.
-
That is why I think Sanchez would at least be functionable. He is more the mobile QB than Glennon. If they refuse to play Trubisky, at least go with Sanchez. I will take one butt fumble over 3 or 4 turnovers.
-
I bet Virginia is once again extremely pissed off and Mikey has to take the reins and force something to change soon. The embarrassment on the field and upcoming Trevathon suspension probably going to put someone on a very hot seat. Will it be Fox getting fired or just forcing the QB change? Something will go down or this team will fall apart more so than we seen tonight.
-
I would say Glennon sucks worse. If Trubisky is not ready, play Sanchez. Fox has lost hold of this team. Hard to blame these players, it frustrating to watch. Imagine having to practice all week for this show.

Prayers to the Packer, that did not good.
