  1. Pace would not have released Sitton (he probably would) without feeling confident in the guys we have, Kush plays C/G and Morgan G. I also have them moving Cappa to LG. I think the whole C/G perceived need is because we didn't see these guys last year, but they are high on these guys developing. If they cannot draft Nelson, they either take Edmunds or try trade down. OLB is the one major need as they don't have bodies to fill the roster yet. I just have a different vision (today), I could flip it to going offense heavy early as well but this is it.

    Draft

    1. Tremain Edmunds LB - VT 6'5 250 Edmunds is too versatile to pass. He can play inside or on the edge. Remember Clay Matthews in his prime moving all along the front and always sacking Cutler. This is how I envision Fangio using Edmunds. This is a disruptive playmaker the D needs to become top 5. This is not about adding a great sound ILB which can be had with Smith, but a guy that is a chess piece offenses try to anticipate. 2a. Sam Hubbard OLB/DE - Ohio St 6'5 270 Drafttek has the Bears selecting him also, like Edmunds and it makes sense. Hubbard is not a flashy player but he will do his job 110%. He is a football player and will probably be a long term solid starter. My take is he will become the Justin Smith. Be able to play OLB or DE as the fronts change through a game. If the Bears go this route, I hope they move down a few slots and gain an extra pick in the draft. or 2b. Lorenzo Carter OLB/DE GA 6'5 250 Carter would continue with the speed theme if they decide to go that route. Similar to Floyd, adding more speed would help disrupt timing in this passing league. 4. Brandon Parker OT NCAT 6'8" 305 Parker has LT potential with good footwork and size. He is a somewhat a work in progress, but might not be a long project. Parker who knows Cohen from college would adapt well and could push Leno at LT in a year or replace Massie on the right. 4. Equanimeous St. Brown WR ND 6'5" 204 St. Brown is under valued due to ND's horrendous QB play. He is a polished route runner with size/speed. He gives the Bears a big outside WR to play opposite of Robinson. 5. Josh Adams RB ND 6'2 213 Late round prospect that can contribute running or catching. 6. Brandon Facyson CB VT 6'1 203 Cover corner to develop and depth 7. Alex Cappa OT Humboldt St 6'6 305 Double dipping of OT's especially ones that are capable to playing LT. I think Cappa would make a decent LG and for a late RD flier, it is worth a shot.
  3. I wanted to keep him since the Bears have 24 million in cap yet. It comes down to his injury imo and how much he sees the field for that 5.4m guarantee. Nagy will have to be creative to get the personal we have on the field as it is. I believe it will be mainly 2 TE sets. Robinson WR, Burton TE, Leno LT, Kush LG, Whitehair C, Long RG, Massie RT, Sims TE, Gabriel WR, Trubisky QB, and Howard RB. Rotation group A: Shaheen TE, Cohen RB, White WR. Group B: Brown TE, Cunningham RB, Rookie WR.
  4. Pace surely would not let him go for nothing like he did Alshon. He is either returning the same stunt Loomis pulled on him when we tried stealing Josh Hill TE and Loomis came back last minute or totally miscalculated his worth and refuses to overspend a little.
  5. I agree and don't see Gabriel being on the field as much with the TE group we have. I think we will run out of 2 or 3 TE sets making Burton as a slot often.

    My Draft

My money is on a trade down with New England and we take Rashan Evans LB and G Isaiah Wynn.
  7. Actually, Gabriel is not a slot WR. He lines up more outside. Meredith on the other hand is more of a slot. To think of it, Pace is probably pissed he could have re-signed Wright since he signed with Minny for 1 year at 1 million.
  8. They may not sign him, I hope they do though. He is the type who will grow into a clutch WR. Former QB who understands what he has to learn. I am not one bit upset they didn' put a 2nd rd tender on him unless a team would sign him and give it up. Wasn't happening though, Pace knew it and knew he could spoil the relationship by low balling him 2.9 million on a 1 yr deal. The kid wants a paycheck and some stability.
  9. Agree, it is a little steep though. I think he is an ascending type of player, so I would not want to see him succeed in another uniform. Food for thought, the Bears a few years back signed Saints TE Josh Hill to an offer sheet. This forced the Saints to decide on over spending or lose him. Little pay dirt on Pace I guess, what goes around comes around.
  10. Two Guards I wouldn't mind is Isaiah Wynn Georgia round 2. He played LT and is a little short there for NFL, but would make a great replacement for Sitton at LG. The other prospect I like is Wyatt Teller G VT, he is a projected 4th or 5th Rd and might take a year to get up to speed. I still think Morgan or Kush makes the jump and does well, but if we reach in the draft I like these two behind Nelson.
  11. When you mean late, would you be good with a 4th round pick? That is were I am thinking and would love to land DeSean Hamilton from Penn St. He fits the mold above imo.
  12. Nice breakdown Brad, if it happens your reasoning helps.. This is a deep RB class and if Barkley is not the target, I like the looks of Rashaad Penny. Even Royce Freeman might get a look from Oregon. I'd prefer not to draft RB in the 1st or 2nd, but with Pace you never know.
  13. I hope he never sees the field. Butt fumble can go to Cleveland and groom there QB.
  14. I agree he is the highlight on the offense the past 2 years. It is all speculation, but it was heavy enough Rapport responded to it, so I thought I'd share. We will be seeing all kinds of smoke these next few weeks. Hope Howard has thick skin, he is being picked on a lot lately.
  15. I hope you are right. I didn' realize he removed all of those other pics. He also supposedly unfollowed the Bears IG page. I would consider that Giants deal. More so to use it to trade down for a team wanting to leapfrog the Jets. Maybe there will be some grip on the Arz trade. 8 for Chandler Jones, 15, and 47.
  16. Now, it is all rumors and Rapport even tried to squash it, but something must have happened. People do this when they don't feel the love.
  17. The hot stove is burning this afternoon with speculation Jordan Howard will be on the move. Today he removed his Bear related photos from his Instagram account which caused Twitter to explode with rumors. The rumor gaining steam was trading Howard and the 8th pick to the Giants for their 2nd overall pick. Are the Bears targeting Barkley, who seems to be a better fit for Nagys offense? Or are they going for Chubb who fits their biggest need as a pass rusher or Nelson who could solidify the line for a century. Maybe Pace wants the power to trade down when QB needy teams decides to give the farm for Darnold, Rosen, or Allen. This is a rich RB draft, so the Bears could fill the role later if they don't see the value using a 1st on that position, they have been successful finding Howard and Cohen. Now this could get interesting.
  18. Chase Daniels was on the Bear Report today which is on 670 the Score. I believe the Bears nailed this signing just by the way he spoke. He knows his role is to help prepare Mitchel Trubisky and he is fully engulfed. He spoke with certainties about how he wants things done and talked strongly on how advanced Mitchel already is. He learned from sitting behind Brees and Alex Smith. I believe the transition will go great since Chase already knows and understands Nagy and he can fill the gaps for Mitchel. Also I took note on how important and it was stressed about having a strong run game. With the way it was stressed, do not count out the Bears drafting a RB. It wasn't mentioned, but it is what I read into it. If we can gain another pick around the 3rd, I can see a top RB like Penny. It is NFL draft month and I am almost more excited to see the team on the field than see who they pick. The tides are turning.
  19. I would move down, not up. I dont think one player in this draft can transform the team into a instant contender unless Trubisky suddenly quits football. I think we will have our choice of 5 or 6 players we like which would enable us to move down to gain a 2nd or 3rd.
  20. We can scratch TE off the list, Trey Burton filled that role.
  21. Since a few things have changed, so have my thoughts. 1. OLB still #1 need 2. G/C became a need after Sitton released. Maybe Kush or Morgan can step in, but unknown if they would upgrade. #2B need 3. ILB-Freeman and Jones are gone, depth for sure needed and possibly upgrade over Kwit. #2A need 4 . WR-white is on final year and Meredith has yet to sign. Gabriel is not a typical every down WR and may not hold up. I am being skeptical, not optimistic here. Would like a kid with real potential. #3 need 5. OT- Massie has one year remaining. Time to draft a replacement and give a year to bulk up. #3 need 6. CB- future competition and depth. #4 7. Wildcard=RB- Pace is finding a niche with drafting RBs. Wouldn't surprise me if he takes a flier on another. *
  22. We should start having a couple debates, like setting up rounds 1 and 2. Round 1 - Quentin Nelson G, Tremaine Edmunds LB, and Roquan Smith ILB, Minikah Fitzpatrick DB, Marcus Davenport OLB These are a few popular names that seem to slot around pick 8. There is no guarantee they will be there, but if we were to build a champion, who do we start with? (Feel free to add more) Round 2 - Lorenzo Carter OLB, Arden Key OLB, Kohlton Miller OT, Isiah Wynn G.
  23. I would make a few changes myself. Since we took Edmunds and Carter, I would back off on double dipping on both LB positions. If Aruna slips into the 5th or after, then we can take a shot. I would prefer a WR in the 3rd or 4th and maybe even double dip here since Meredith and White may not be here long term.
  24. The odds of Nelson even being available at 8 are slim. He is literally the best player in the class. Teams may see him as a LT too, since ND played him at G doesn't mean he is not capable. It is hard to be excited about Nelson, but I want the highest level of protection for Trubisky. If he is gone, than I am all aboard the Tremaine Edmunds train.
  25. It would be nice, but he did just extend O'Donnell. It was only a one year deal so it shouldn't be awful to cut.
