HH is going to say the right thing. Plus the Bears do not want the league knowing we may target a OT.
-
I think Nelson has great feet, he moves/pulls like a RB hitting a hole with his 6-5 325 frame. Check out some of the video clips with him pulling. Powerful and violent he is, but that is his attitude and if he struggles it is not often. The guy could go #2 to NYG because he is all that. I am not saying he is a must draft for the Bears but I think he is a "for sure" talent.
-
I put Bellamy on a "highly consider" list, but not re-signed. He would only come back for ST if there is room. Statistically, Inman's targets/receptions are nearly identical. As for Landry, I would love him working the middle of the field but would be happy adding Jordan Matthews as the slot also. Kendall Wright would be fine too.
-
I doubt they would go after two of the biggest names WR, but would love that combination. Robinson's injury history is bone, so it is more fluke. He is a top 5 WR when healthy and that is with Bortles. The Bears should carefully look him over and if he passes medically, make him an offer. I will concede on Landry but behind him, I propose Jordan Matthews to work the slot. Daquan Jones is a stout 3-4 end that is a force against the run. I still like Bullard and RRH, but think they still need another body for the rotation. Jones is my Akeem Hicks and ready to take his next big step.

I would like the Bears to re-sign: UFA Kyle Fuller CB Lamar Houston OLB Sam Acho OLB Christian Jones ILB Sherrick McManus CB Benny Cunningham RB RFA Cam Meredith WR Bryce Callahan CB Patrick Scales LS Highly consider: Prince Akumara CB John Timu ILB Josh Bellamy WR/ST Marc Sanchez QB Tom Compton OF Cairo Santos K Pat O'Donnell P Kendall Wright WR Donatelle Inman WR FA Allen Robinson WR, Jarvis Landry WR Bashaud Breeland CB Daquan Jones DE 3-4 I would go big on WR in FA. Robinson 1, Meredith 2, and Landry slot. White and draft pick. Rd1-Nelson G or trade down for McGlichey OT gain 2 or 3rd. Rd2-best OLB Rd3-WR

I believe this is what you are looking for. http://dabearsbros.com/bears-quenton-nelson/ Nelson has to be in our top 5 considerations.

We can go a number of ways, but WR scares the hell out of me. Thank you Kevin White. What also scares me is GB taking Ridley and he becomes a rookie all pro. I like Ridley because of his competition level he faced, knowledge of routes and sound hands. I like Sutton because of his physical traits, which will catch Paces eye. Sorting this draft out will be complicated for Jason because we don't have a sure direction with multiple needs.

I think WR should be ruled out RD1 by history alone. Unless there is a beast out there, find your guy further down. 36 WRs taken in the past 10 years and only a handful seem worthy. 2017: Corey Davis 1-5, Mike Williams 1-7, John Ross 1-9 2016: Corey Coleman 1-15, Will Fuller 1-21, Josh Doctson 1-22, Laquan Treadwill 1-23 2015: Amari Cooper 1-4, Kevin White 1-7, Devante Parker 1-14, Nelson Agholor 1-20, Breshard Perelman 1-26, Phillip Dorsett 1-29 2014: Sammy Watkins 1-4, Mike Evans 1-7, Odell Beckham 1-12, Brandon Cooks 1-20, KELVIN Bengiman 1-28 2013:Tavon Austin 1-8, DeAndre Hopkins 1-27, Cordarelle Patterson 1-29 2012: Justin Blackmon 1-5, Michael Floyd 1-13, Kendall Wright 1-20, AJ Jenkins 1-30 2011: 1-4 AJ Green 1-4, Julio Jones 1-6, Jonathon Baldwin 1-26 2010: Demaryious Thomas 1-22, Des Bryant 1-24 2009: Darrious Heyward- Bey 1-7, Michael Crabtree 1-10, Jeremy Maclin 1-19, Percy Garvin 1-22, Hakeem Nicks 1-29, Kenny Britt 1-30 2008: none drafted. Whose worthy: Amari Cooper, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham, DeAndre Hopkins, AJ Green, Julio Jones, Demaryious Thomas, Des Bryant. Some are undetermined yet. A couple on my list could be question of too. Unless we trade down, I wouldn't touch a WR just because it is a big need. Find a pro bowl talent even if it is a G or ILB or CB.(Nelson, R Smith, Fitzpatrick)
-
Thinking the same way Stinger. Needs: OLB, OT, WR, CB RD1: could go with any of these positions, depends on their grade. Need a pro bowl talent OLB OT G CB RD2: whichever we don't fill rd1 and the highest grade OLB OT WR

Donatell! He is the next step.

It is funny how I read today was the deadline and then shortly after it says he is signing. It could all be coincidence. It could go both ways. He is highly respected, but by giving him a deadline, they may have forced his decision before Shurmur gets interviewed and hired and then sorts out his coaching staff. If he wanted that then they would have found out by him not signing. Basically stop dragging us along so we can move on and get someone else before there is possibly more competition swooping candidates.
-
It was on twitter, so who knows how official it is. Search Fangio deadline.
-
The Bears gave him until today to decide, took an ultimatum to get this ball rolling. Glad he is back, I was having flashbacks of when Marinelli left for Dallas because we hired Trestman over Arians.
-
I think it is also on the Bears, not just Fangio. IMO, the Bears are not offering him what he is asking.
-
Great hire, even though I will miss him at my ND. First thought, how much can he improve what we already have? Will he keep the guys we have in place, like Whitehair at C or G. Sitton can also play C and we have a 3rd pick in Grasu, so it would be nice to see Grasu take hold and have Sitton to backup C/G along with Kush at G. That leaves me at OT, Leno is signed and Massie entering his final year. McGlinchey would be perfect to replace Massie for a year or two and eventually replace Leno if he doesn't improve. I don't feel McGlinchey is worthy at 8, so we can move down and acquire a 2nd or 3rd and fill other dire needs OLB, WR, and CB. As much as I would love Nelson, it could hurt our growth by taking a bpa at a position we have little need.
-
I would think Mike Flores would get first shot, but they are a 3-4 and Fangio is one of the best.
-
What about New England if Patricia leaves? Might be a dream job of his. Maybe be is holding out for those openings which will hurt his chances of staying in Chicago
-
I tweeted Greg yesterday and his opinion why Nagy would be better than Deflippo was the basically Reid. Reid would help Nagy get the support he would need to be successful as in assistant coaches.
-
Reid took over in the playoff game to let Nagy prepare for the Bears job. Nagy scripted the first 15 plays. Chief fans will hate us knowing we took their play caller out for the playoff game.
-
He was a douche 7 years ago. Maybe being humiliated changed him? Sometimes it takes that to grow up. I don't think the Bears are going that way, so we will most likely be safe.
-
Sounds like he just might be the Bears front runner. He would try and bring Mike Groh WR coach and Phillip Daniels DL coach with him. The best part is he would have Fangio as his DC. This may be the what tips the scales.
-
Keeping Fangio would be best case scenario. I would hate to lose all that we gained with having him. I have a feeling if we hired Fangio as HC, he would possibly hire Mike McCoy as OC. How would Bear fans feel about that? I don't think we would have to worry about him leaving as a HC for a few years. That is only if he can transform the offense into a juggernaut.
-
They are locked together imo. Either one retires the team goes into complete rebuild. Especially if they lose both coordinators. Looking like that may be the case, so my guess is this is the last run.
-
Heard the rumors today. It would be great to think of the possibility but how many more years will he be coaching? Wouldn't be surprised if Belichick and Brady hang it up after this year.
-
It is such a crap shoot as many have said. My thought is the Bears interviewed Fangio first. In that process, I see the Bears first telling him they want him to remain with the club regardless which way they go for HC. The interesting part would be asking him who he would want to run his offense. That would give the Bears an idea who he is close with. Closing out, I would ask him if they chose another HC who would he stay for to remain DC. Who knows, Fangio may get hired with the right coordinator choices. If he says he prefers to work under Shurmur a Holgrem disciple or Mcdaniels a Belechik bud, we may choose that route. McDaniels Bears HC and Patricia Lions HC would make an interesting rival. I am also intrigued going out there with a Deflippo or Nagy. They might be the next McKay. It should get interesting the next few weeks.
