  1. I am torn on this because Howard has been pretty near elite for RBs in his first 2 years. I think RBs can be created easier than a WR and they have a shorter NFL life span. If Miami is shopping him, then they know they are not going to meet his contract demands and they will lose him after the season like we did with AJ. Why not be firm on only swapping 2nds. They get Howard and a higher 2nd, we pay JL and gain a 3rd. They do not lose out like we did losing AJ. Pace could learn a thing or two about gaining draft value
  2. I am 5'7" and did 225 25 times....about 24 years ago lol. I didn't get praise for that, I got humiliated because of my height. I know height has its advantages and disadvantages but I know the work I put in back then too. He does seem uncommited with what I'm hearing. He does have good game tape too, so his pro day will be his calling. I would consider him late round 2 with his combine results.
  3. Not sure on the interview, but it is rare to see guys his size bench many reps or run well. I have missed a lot this week with being crazy busy with work.
  4. Muhammed Wilkerson DE Jets has been released.
  5. Hard to say, but this draft is deep with a variety of choices. I would still like to see 2 get drafted since the top FA talent dried up before it even started.
  6. Where does Shaqon Barkley RB fit in? He was considered one of the top 3-4 a month ago.
  7. What sucks about Ridley is his age. He will be an old man if he makes it to his second contract. Pace has shown he doesn't put age into effect since he has drafted a handful of older players. Calvin Ridley - born Dec 20, 1994. 23 years old and will be 24 during next season. Meaning if we draft and keep him, he will be 29 starting a new contract leaving the 6-7 year contract extension up for debate. Where as if we drafted Juju Shuster last year, he will be 20 next season, with a year of NFL experience.
  8. I am torn. I like how good stable teams are rewarded, which helps them remain that way too. It also keeps bad teams bad because they cannot catch up without overspending in FA and have a hard time retaining there top players because they want to move to a winning team. If the bad team doesn't make any improvements, then they dump coaches and gms and that could put the team back even further. If we were a good team, we would love seeing that 3rd round award. One issue with the Bears is they sign decent players and end up cutting them before their contract expires, like Sitton. A good team can now poach him and that signing will not effect their compensatory scale. We feel good because we see more cap space, but then we spend it on more mediocre/good players and lose our compensation gains.
  9. One of these years the Bears might draft good enough to start earning Compensatory Picks. 2018 Compensatory Picks 3-97 Cardinals 3-98 Texans 3-99 Broncos 3-100 Bengals 4-133 Packers 4-134 Cardinals 4-135 Giants 4-136 Patriots 4-137 Cowboys 5-170 Bengals 5-171 Cowboys 5-172 Packers 5-173 Cowboys 5-174 Packers 6-207 Packers 6-208 Cowboys 6-209 Chiefs 6-210 Raiders 6-211 Texans 6-212 Raiders 6-213 Vikings 6-214 Texans 6-215 Ravens 6-216 Raiders 6-217 Raiders 6-218 Vikings 7-251 Chargers 7-252 Bengals 7-253 Bengals 7-254 Cardinals 7-255 Buccaneers 7-256 Falcons
  10. Tried another Buffalo trade down since it has been a few weeks since I mocked, but was surprised at how many former top players are falling. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 21 (BUF): Ridley, Calvin, WR, Alabama A+ Round 1 Pick 22 (BUF): Wynn, Isaiah, OG, Georgia B+ Round 2 Pick 7: Key, Arden, DE/OLB, LSU B+ Round 3 Pick 32 (BUF): Meeks, Quenton, CB, Stanford A+ Round 4 Pick 5: Settle, Tim, DT, Virginia Tech A+ Round 4 Pick 15: Miller, Kolton, OT, UCLA A- Round 5 Pick 8: Fumagalli, Troy, TE, Wisconsin A Round 6 Pick 7: Tate, Auden, WR, Florida State A+ Round 7 Pick 6: Thomas, Roc, RB, Jacksonville State A+
  11. I heard people say he would play out of position since he is prototype DE, so it would be a difficult decision. If he feels capable and wants to come, I would give him a shot.
  12. Might even be able to snag Robert Quinn to help Floyd.
  13. I don't like creating more holes before others are fixed either. If anything, we know Sitton is an above average vet who can get the job done. Is his body breaking down, of course but look at our squad of Long, Kush, and Morgan who all missed more games last season and we are banking on them. It seems like Pace knows he bought himself at least 2 more years and can allow youth/inexperience to grow into these spots. One thing he has done is put out a notice that if you want Nelson, you better trade up.
  14. Not just Nelson, but Wynn, Price, Hernandez all could be in play. The Bears could move down if Nelson is gone and take any of those other 4 to be C or G. I do know the Bears are high on Kush and if Morgan is developed enough it could also be reason enough to move on from Sitton too. I just pray Pace doesn't fall in love with a player and decide to move up again.
  15. I am sure they will meet with all the QB prospects and could draft one. Facebook is coming off injury. I do believe the Bears tried to get an interview with him during the senior bowl and he blew them off saying why would you want to draft me, you just drafting Trubisky. Getting a feel of the player and potential value could be used for the Bears in trading down.
  16. To banged up and couldn't stay off PEDs. He was unreliable.
  17. This will increase the value of tier two WRs.
  18. The crazy part is Clev will probably trade down and gain another future first. They don't seem to care if they get a QB. They do seem to like big names like Peppers and Njoku tho. I would like the Bears to start making moves that gain future firsts or seconds and this might be a good year if Chubb, Nelson, or Fitzpatrick are off the board. As of today, I see the top tier talent only being 4-5 players deep. The rest are grouped from say pick 6 to 15-20. We can only hope a QB is there to give us a chance.
  19. Looks close to what we post. In seen this draft and thought this could work. I like the thought of a big WR and a burner and the developmental LT. The only miss I would want is a starting RT we could have by trading down a few spots.
  20. I agree. Wilkerson is the only one I would think about and really wouldn't want much more than a year or two of him. RRH will be better and we still have Bullard with a little hope.
  21. He should definately be considered. At 19, he is 6'4" to -6-5" and about 250. He can add 15 pounds with NFL strength training and be another Aldon Smith. With Floyd at 6'6", they will have some explosive length on the edge. He is raw, being 19, and will require patience to see results. That will play a factor at pick 8. Someone like Q Nelson can step in starting day 1, where Edmunds will be eased in as a rotational rusher.
  22. https://www.sfchronicle.com/crime/amp/49ers...ce-12605724.php Rueben Foster arrested again. I will admit, I kind of wanted a young up and coming LB like him last year if we had the draft capital, but he is slowly eliminating himself from the league. This one might be enough to knock him out.
  23. Tremaine Edmunds would be an intriguing pick since be could move inside or out for LB. Kind of like Christian Jones but much more athletic.
  24. I don't disagree he will look better with an NFL caliber QB tossing the ball. I just don't see a top 10 pick spent on that position. Just going off analytics, WRs are the riskiest position in the draft to fill. I also think we address the position in FA.
  25. Only way they draft a WR in the first is if they trade down. I dont see Ridley ranked much higher than some later prospects that could be had rd2 through 4.
