Adam, you usually run this a couple weeks before the draft. We are about 36 days away! Was wondering since it is getting close if we can get something started, would like to see us at least get 4 rounds in or more. A thought I had was instead of picking teams, have a rule in place like you cannot make a selection if you selected 5 picks ago (or any # thought reasonable). That way any member can contibute without waiting. We can tag links to notable boards to find team needs and player rankings. I am getting geeked up already and thought if there are any thoughts we can discuss

I figured once FA slowed down they would revisit this. They had plenty of time to set it aside. Hopefully they can come to an agreement that makes everyone happy.

I used to subscribe to the Huddle Report. It was a decent site, hardly visit it anymore.

TE's seem to take 2-3 years before they are up to speed, so signing a young FA who may be ready to break out might be a better route. I think Hunter Henry will be good, but do the Bears want to use their 2nd RD pick if he is there? There are a few other prospects worth consideration and I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears still draft one later even if they sign Hill.

If they re-sign Montgomery, he would mainly be a back up at C only and most likely don't dress on Sunday's. You have to be versatile unless you are the starter anymore, so the G route makes the most semse. Vasquez would be a good addition.

What about adding another quality G and having Slaussen as your back up C? I have no beef with bringing back Montgomery either, but considering all options. I hear the draft is only about 4 rounds deep this year, from Gabe Gabriel. We will see how good Pace is if that is true

They might be done until after the draft. Hard to tell without laying out the roster and looking at. With 9 picks, they will have a lot of bodies in camp. I also think they do a lot of moving on draft day. I don't think they stay at 11 unless Stanley, Buckner, or Ramsey for some crazy reason fall.

It will depend on who is available. We could get the #2 OT, #2 DT, #1 RB, #1WR etc, take the guy that will make the biggest difference for years.

Andrew Quarless is rated as a decent blocking TE. I am surprised we haven't heard his name, but he may not even want to talk to the Bears. Some players take playing for a rival serious, even over money.

OLB is a luxury pick IMO, we have McPhee, Houston, and Young taking a big chunk of $. I think using a 5, 6, or 7 is the way to go here. Hunter Henry I assume? I think he has late 1st RD potential after looking over past drafts...but does the past 5-6 years look promising? Ward was one of the only d-lineman left by RD4, I didn't see Oakman bc they had him in as 5T, kind of like Jaylon Smith was only LB (not ILB/OLB)? I used Walters board and they had the DT's all top 60, so they were gone by RD3.

I could believe it, did some digging on the last decent bunch of TE's. Not much talent after RD3 in 2013. Still not sure I want the Bears using that 2nd on TE, that is hard to swallow. TE Henry in our slot in the 2nd seems too high. That is how most of our rounds feel, that we have to reach for needs. I would wait for the 4th and afer before we go TE, Vannett, Higbee, Adams, Morgan etc.

We may like it or not, but the Bears are cleaning house and building a team with young players that can grow together and not be influenced with bad attitudes. When this core has grown and have their own identity and leaders, they can add a Marty Bennett if they need a push to get them a trophy. Since they have a year or two, there is no need to have a bad tree to drop its seeds.

Bears made the trade finally. They will get a draft pick compensation, which is unknown right now. Sounds like they are flipping some picks. Wheeling and dealing continues: Bears are trading TE Martellus Bennett to Patriots for draft-pick compensation, league sources tell ESPN.

I am all for Butler, that is why I asked him. Maybe he was blowing smoke to cover any leaks. Most likely he is a late 1st early 2nd, and we can land him RD2.

They do. I am not sure how that works with bonuses like that figured in.
