  1. Not a surprise at all. The kid just couldn't realize the opportunities he had. His biggest problem with success was the mental aspect.
  2. I wonder if the Bears have interest in FA CB Richard Marshall? He can play both safety and CB. Played for the Carolina Panthers before the Dolphins signed him. Might be a savy vet to replace Hayden. From rotoworld: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3703/richard-marshall Dolphins released CB Richard Marshall.Marshall is hard-nosed and versatile, but was miscast as an outside starter. Marshall could easily surface in Cleveland with Ray Horton, under whom he had his best NFL season in 2011. Marshall, 28, can play both safety and corner
  3. I understand. I too didn't like what I seen from the start with Webb intially being slated the number one. I think the Bears gave him the first game as his shot, but his leash was short. Glad we have management that can see deficiencies like some of us fans can. Webb now has to work hard to win a roster spot and I don't think he will realize that until he is cut.
  4. Hang on, so if Webb performed just well enough to slide by for the preseason then we may not have had any "open" competition. The job WAS Webb's from the start and now that we know what happens, you can't say you knew all along. LoL, just having some devils advocate fun!
  5. Agree completely. Carimi had to beat Webb and Scott, and if he did...how much better would he be. Plus he was projected to compete at G. He did not like that, voiced it, and wanted a new start elsewhere. Rodriquez, he had his first run in. The second run in was the line, and if you don't cut him then the guys that make good decisions lose belief in the system. Emery took that chance and made the right decision, no matter what potential he had you can't give exceptions.
  6. I figured he would get traded, the writing was on the wall. The Bears have said they see Carimi as a G. Carimi wants to play OT. Carimi displayed his displeasure by working out in Arz and missing voluntary OTA's, thus trying to get moved. IMO, I'm fine with it. Carimi fit Tice's style and was only going to be a RT in Tice's offense. In Kromers offense, I think we will need more athletic line play with the Zone Blocking Scheme. I think Carimi will have a decent NFL career, but it wasn't going to be with the new look Bears. At least we got some compensation for a player that would've been on the bubble as a Guard.
  7. I was reading through all of this thinking to myself who the heck is C Williams? Don't these guys know our players? Have they been hanging out with Webb? Then I seen the date of 2012, Bahahaha!
  8. I doubt anyone would trade for him if they think the Bears will cut him. Hopefully we could get a conditional 7th RD pick lol.
  9. It was on the score today, Zach Zaidman. Exactly like I posted earlier, how he wants to get cut so he can play RT somewhere. Don't blame him, he wants to play. Chris Williams did the same, became a pain and got released.
  10. Probably a smart move on his end. He'd be better off getting cut and starting fresh somewhere new. He probably wants a chance at RT and doesn't see a whole lot of opportunity here.
  11. Exactly, Emery sat patiently and made some tough decisions. I see next years draft having DT, CB as top needs. C and QB as second level. I see us drafting from 20-32 range again. My initial draft order would be something like rd1-DT, rd2-C, rd3-QB, rd4-CB, rd5-CB, rd6-TE, rd7-RB of course a lot will change in a year.
  12. Another big productive WR that fits best in the WCO. Not much speed, but uses his size to catch the ball and move the chains.
  13. Sounds like a lot of potential with Washington. Need more dline with Whootton entering last year and Peppers aging/high contract. Plus Shea uncertainty.
  14. ASHKUM BEAR

    Picks 6+7

He was 6-1 203, with 4.35 speed. Not too small, but I didn't know about the concussions

    Picks 6+7

Damn.....Swope is gone. Grab Quisenberry to play center or Scott as QB.
  16. I will puke if Swope gets picked in front of us. I like his size/speed and feel a WR would be a luxary pick.
  17. Meh, a 7th. I'll be upset if we don't land a guy I target.
  18. Moved down to 163. Still hope for Swope!
  19. It would be nice to see this team get on track to draft bpa no matter what position. So many wasted picks that didn't make it.
  20. Swope wr, Quisenberry C/G , Hawthorne CB.
  21. I agree, I also envy GB. Lacy and Franklin are one hell of a combo at RB. The teams that draft good every year continue to stay on par.
  22. I like how Emery is filling out this roster. He didn't bite on restructuring veterans to make more cap space. He is following a plan even though us as fans want the right now satisfaction. By this time next year, we will have at least 7 picks to load up and our cap situation should be healthy were we can continue to add or sign our own. LB is a position we were in desperate need of. Williams and Anderson are on one year contracts and Briggs is getting up there in age. I called for Ogletree/Brown in my last mock, we couldve went that route. I am actually more pleased getting Long and two guys that were not much of a dropoff. Here's to hoping Emerys vision has some success and the Bears get back to the Superbowl
  23. I made a chart after the season, the reds on the team for not having personal were G/LB. We addressed those now and with superp athletic players. If that trend continues, we will fill DT and CB next lol. But I would like to also find C and WR as upgrades.
  24. Top 5 defense last year. Aging yes, but we still have round 2 to find a LB.
  25. Bakhtiari was a long shot. The site I used had him and Scwenke back to back early/mid rd 4. Taking Brown to play WLB in the future. I think he'd outplay Briggs. Ogletree/Te'o fit more as the MLB, and I knew if I put Te'o it would cause massive illness.
