Thats fine, I never thought they would. I was using draftteks order and stated i knew it was unrealistic. Faulk is a gamble, if he stayed healthy he would've been in the top 10.
-
I put together a mock that I used the most recent drafttek's order. I know it's very unrealistic, but I picked from available players. So please don't try and argue that he won't be there in this round or that. I am using drafttek..... http://www.drafttek.com/2013-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round1.asp RD1 - Chance Warmack OG AL 6-3 320 RD2 - Chris Faulk OLT LSU 6-6 325 - If he never injured his knee, he'd be RD1 talent, should be ready to go in combine. RD4 - Brian Schwenke C Cal 6-3 305 RD5 - Kevin Reddick ILB NC 6-2 240 RD6 - Travis Kelce TE Cin 6-5 260

We should keep Spaeth as long as Davis gets cut. Spaeth will be on his last year and he is valuable. He was rarely counted on to be a recieving threat. If the Bears asked him do more as a WR, he can produce like he did when Davis was basically benched at the end of the season.

The oline cannot be ignored and needs the most amount of attention. I would prefer going that route through the draft. If by chance Lane Johnson is there it's a no brainer and if not, we should hope to move down.
-
If we sign Bushrod, we need to draft a LG in round 1 or 2 to groom next to him. Bushrod had a luxary of playing next to carl nicks and now ben grubbs, which definitely helps you look better.
-
I too think Lane Johnson would be a great choice, In round 2 we may be able to get a guard like Frederick or Warford. Save the money for resigning our own and mid level FA depth.
-
Technically since he's a UFA (soon to be), he's been diconnected. It's up to the Bears to welcome him back. Seems like a good choice even if he's 75-80% of the former player. He can give us time to find a replacement and be able to delcare his retirement as a memeber of the Bears.
-
Glad he's back, but I remember him pouting and throwing fits when he was benched. But if I remember right, we didn't use him right. I think he was better in the ss role and we had him more in the fs.

Lovies thought of only using the front 4 worked pretty good. We did mix it up by sending briggs often, along with the nickle cb and also the safety. If the front 4 are getting it done, that leaves the remaining 7 to take the ball away which we were great at. The new read option gave us fits as once the qb rolls out of the pocket, the gap responsibility is widened and hard to control. If the nfl continues that route, I would think a 3-4 would be better suited to attack that.

I would love that draft, three olinemen that would solidify our line. Add Webb, Carimi, Brown, and Louis and we have a great young core. Reddick would be a solid LB and ill take your word on the wr. That would put us in excellent shape next draft having all 7 picks to retool the defense and find some solid offensive depth.
-
I think if we were to rebuild, we will need more draft picks than 5. We all ready need to rebuid an offensive line, find a starting TE, speed wr and a young qb that would be a capable #2. I just don't see a reason this year especially when you had a top 10 defense.
-
Actually we are getting ripped on the deal according to the "draft pick trade value chart" by about 10-20 points. Have you seen how many draft picks the 49er's have this year.....they currently have 11 picks. 1.32, 2.30, 3.12 (from CAR), 3.32, 4.32, 5.24 (from IND), 5.32, 6.12 (from MIA), 6.32, 7.21 (from CIN), 7.32 FROM FFTOOLBOX,

I just have a feeling the first pick will go ogletree or eifert. A player that can take over a game. As much of an OL guy I am, I dont think we draft one in round 1 unless a warmack, fisher, or even cooper fall. I will take barrett jones, but have a feeling we pass on him unless we move down 5-6 spots in rd1.

Round1 - Alec Ogletree ILB Ga - With Urlachers days numbered, the Bears need to find a new center fielder to cover the middle. Emery has also stated that in round 1, he wants players that can win you games and be the difference maker. I think his speed/athletism will be a big boost to an aging D. They can opt to hold back and take someone like Fluker or Jones and have a solid player, but they are not known as players that can win games by themselves. I think going D in round 1 will give the Bears the freedom to use the rest of the draft rebuild the offense. Round2 - Trade to San Fransico for two 3rds, a 4th, and a 5th. San Fran had an abundance of picks anyways and opt for quality over quantity. Round3 (74) Travis Fredrick G/C Wis - Fredrick will be better as a G, but has the experience to play C as well Round3 (94) Brian Winters G/T Kent St - will be on the left side at G or T, IMO. LT may take a developmental year though. Kent's oline played fierce and attacked the opponent, very well coached unit that knew where to be on every play. Loved how they got to the second level every single play. Round 4 (114) Travis Kelce TE Cin - big, smooth, and great hands, solves one positioned that killed so many drives last season Round 4 (126)Johnathon Franklin RB UCLA- great size/speed, allows Bears to cut Bush and save $ Round 5 (146) Zac Dysert QB Miami of Oh - QB to groom, thought about using this pick to grab Aaron Rogers brother from Vanderbilt Round 5 (150) Marcus Davis WR VT - decent size and speed, can stretch the field. Round 6 (178) Brandon Moore DT Texas - best d-lineman available

I think it's getting old that people are wasting this much energy on this subject. I'm a ND fan, think he's flakey, will still be drafted in RD1, will still have a decent NFL career, wouldn't cry if the Bears took him, and think there's bigger issues than talking about Te'o and his imaginery girlfriend.
-
I would love Fisher, Minter, Kelce! That would be a great start if those 3 slipped to us. Spending a 5th on a C/G prospect also works well. 6th round would be the wildcard going to highest ceiling prospect available.
-
I don't think warmack or Fisher will be available, but a lot can change. I'm thinking: Rd1 Cooper G/C NC or Lane Johnson OLT OK Rd2 Kyle Long LT Or or Warford G Ky Barrett Jones is also in that rd1 mix, but im concerned about his foot. Rd4 best TE or MLB FA, Melton and a speed WR. Along with a handful of our others like Izzy and Roach.
-
Forget a RB, at RD4 we need another contributer off the bat like LB or TE. #3 RBs could be had off the undrafted FAs.
-
Bears to interview Colts OC Bruce Arians. On Sunday per Brad Biggs on twitter.
-
I like our safety combo and we can groom Hardin to replace Wright or possibly since he played cb we have an option when Tillman is done. If Hardin can be coached and stay healthy, he has size and speed that is unheard of. He can be something special.
-
Those were all my first round choices. Oops
-
Draft wise I'd like to see: Eric Fischer OLT Alec Ogletree MLB Chance Warmack OG Tyler Eifert TE Barrett G/C Cooper G A lot of G prospects available and with Louis, Brown, Williams, and maybe even Carimi we may not have a huge need for one. But there are some great OG prospects this season and the top 3-4should he better than anything we have.

Latest update I could find on Johnny Knox from a few weeks ago. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...7c-8607955dbda2

That could be something we might be able to do. I posted the real 3-4 is something I don't see us doing unless a coach has a great layout on how to transform our team that is realistic. We still have a top rated defense even though they are aging. I think the biggest preference is to keep the team as intact as possible since we don't have many resources to add in terms of draft picks and cap space. I think at the moment we are hoping to build upon the offense, but thats just my opinion
-
He said he wasn't opposed, but it would take convincing. He said they ran a true 3-4 in KC, and that takes a big NT and two big DEs that we don't have. Now there are hybrids that may work but with our current roster transforming to a true 3-4 would not make much sense unless the potential coach has a great transformation plan.
