All this talk about drafting a QB is bogus until you get the right playcallers. Everyone was high on Hurts, now he looks bad and they are blaming his coaches. What about Herbert? There is no QB that makes it without a genius behind him. Stroud? Wait until his play caller becomes a HC elsewhere. I don't care what Poles does but who is going to have the team ready to beat NFL defenses for years?

Looks like Greg Gabriel is pissed, he is taking a break from the Bears and Twitter. He don't know if Stein was fired or quit but

I hope it was because people were not subscribing. It kills me watching people jump in a pot and enjoying the warm water not knowing they keep raising the temperature to a boil.

I was starting to type this and you popped in with a new comment haha. I figured you were posting this

They will take until they lose, unfortunately. I don't watch prime games for that reason.
-
I named 4, Waldron, Kubiak, Coen, and Olson. Biememy or Reich maybe left?

I think the Bears can trade down to 3, gain 800 points, so say a future 1st 2025, and a 2024 2nd rd pick. At 3, you take MHJ, at 9 a DE, LT, or QB. Round 2, FS or trade down a little a take best C. Justin counts 6 million in 2024. You make that up by cutting Jackson post june and more with Whitehair. 2025 they will need to get creative, but will have draft picks to replace some expiring contacts like Jenkins and Davis. If they pick up the 5th year option, that puts an additional 25 million against the cap, how much will it raise in 2 years. Here is a projection. They will get a project 18 next and 41 in 2025. 2023 cap - 231,000,000. 2024 proj - 249,000,000. 2025 pro - 272,000,000.

I am leaning Waldron and if Olson can't find a gig, bring him in as QB coach and someone that can move to OC if Waldron moves on to a HC job after the Bears offense becomes great. Kubiak is right there with me too. The Shannahan tree seems to do well and he is familiar with the division. I imagine more candidates will emerge once teams get eliminated this weekend.

So much for no OC will want to work under a HC who might be on a hot seat. The Bears have 4 good names to interview. They all run a scheme similiar to what the Bears ran under Getsy. This tells me they do not want the team to go through another learning curve and it also helps JF case on being QB1 next year. What was feeling like 60 stay/40 out is not hovering 75 stay/25 out. The Bears also have an edge with having a HC in place while other teams have to get that done first. Shane Waldron-Sea OC, worked under Belechik. G Geno Smith put together 8000 yds 50 tds in 2 years under him. Clint Kubiak-passing coor, Dad is the godfather of Shannahans offense. Liam Coen-Kentucky OC, LA Rams OC in 21 under McVay, Dad is NFL exec. Greg Olson - worked with Bears under Jauron, QB coach with Seattle. Maybe he comes with Waldron.

The Bears extra home game will be played in London this year. The KC game was going to be there last year but the Chiefs and NFL has it changed.
-
Any change of thoughts on Riveria? I would like to see him get this D more aggressive but that might not be Flus thinking. Two former HC in Riveria and Riech would be a ton more experience to help Flus get us to the top.
-
He said he wouldnt give up Moore, Wright, Stevenson, this years #1, and a 2025 2nd for him.
-
One huge thing to consider regardless of having the #1 pick is the Bears rarely fire a coach with 2 years left. Same goes with Justin Fields, he has at least one year left and will be a tough sell if they trade him for anything less than a 2nd. We want instant success and we're far from it this year. The plus was the team stood together and didn't implode except for maybe at GB. The only possible change is if Warren has the blessing to allow Poles to do so and hire a real (expensive) HC like Harbaugh. If it is having the top pick and the chance at a QB crowned generational as Williams was early in the college season, then Poles can trade that pick and accumulate two more years with an extra 1st to accomplish another reset at the QB position and possibly a shot at the next crowned guy. Just some logical thinking at how the top is looking at this

That might have been it. He really slow talk made me feel like he was stoned. I was like hurry up. He was a Cum Laude Harvard graduate and played safety.
-
Lucas seemed like a tool. They cut him off saying they ran out of time right after they told him he cannot swear. He didn't sound too professional either and I felt like it was just a stoned fan playing them.
-
They just finished player exits. I am sure they met today to discuss the future plans. I still believe they did their due diligence to feel out Harbaugh with a call today or will tomorrow. Hell, they might charter a plane and meet in person. If Harbaugh is out, then they can decide if Flus is the answer or someone else. Give it some time to play out, there is a little time yet to pull something off.

I think an article I posted Sunday mentioned Warren will address the state of the Bears after they conclude the season the following week. The game didn't go as they had hoped, so it might take a couple of days to soak in and not react as many fans did wanting to burn it all down
-
I think Poles calls Jim tomorrow to congratulate him and asks if he would like to be the HC of the Bears. Tells him he can choose to work with JF or he can have his pick from the litter.
-
I was on the Blake Corum bandwagon last year as a late round pick but he was hurt and didn't enter the draft. He will now be drafted much higher. The kid runs like a knife cutting through defenses.
-
Warren is the Bears president, so he should be involved in everything, and if not then why hire him. Poles is the GM, but he has a boss that is evaluating his work. Found this article from yesterday. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39248299/bears-prez-kevin-warren-likes-state-team-mum-matt-eberflus

QUICK HITS - Pick 3 Points and Give a Brief Explanation...
ASHKUM BEAR replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
It is a fine line and we only have access to what is given. Having a boss that gives love makes you feel better and helps you to perform that way too. The employee has to know that they need to meet the expectations or meet the door. I get love and the don't ever let that happen again from my boss, so I respect him for the boundaries. -
No one will bow out though. They do not play an actual game, like last year. They will instead have skills competition, which it might be possible they opt out but not sure their are alternates? Edit: they are already naming opt out alternates. GB has Rashan Gary, Kenny Clark, Elgton Jenkins, Jared Alexander

Here are some team passing stats from pro football reference. Fields throws the ball away a lot. A legit WR 2 and Center will help improve these lines.

But the Bears have improved offensively. They also have one game left. 2023. 2022 Pts/Gm = 21.9. 16th. 19.2. 23rd Tot Yds/gm= 331.4 17th. 307.8. 28th Pass yds/gm= 186.2 27th. 130.5. 32nd Rush Yds/gm 145.3. 2nd. 177.3 1st
