  1. I think he becomes WR2 pretty quick. His game compliments Fields really well and can become a WR1 if they can build that connection.
  2. * Roquan was as good as gone next year. If he signed elsewhere, the highest the Bears could get is a late 3rd in comp. Since they will be buyers, that would wipe out those chances. Maybe they target Roquan in FA after the season? *The FA WR pool after this season is bare. Plus the cost would be much higher than Claypool who is on the rookie contract all of next year. They have half of thus season and all of next before he cost 10 plus million. *The draft class at WR is not deep for a WR1 type. Can Claypool develop into that? The Bears needed a compliment to Mooney who can also be a threat and I think Claypool will fill that role
  3. They got their WR for a higher cost (2nd) than what I would put on Montegomery right now. If Montgomery takes a modest contract deal, I would be happy to see him stay.
  4. The Fighting Ch-Irish Cole Kmet drafted Round 2 pick 43, year 2020. Chase Claypool drafted Round 2 pick 49, year 2020. Add in.. Equanimeous St Brown Round 6 pick 207, year 2018. Both were big parts of the Notre Dame offense and many Bear fans wanted Claypool over Kmet that draft. Now we reunite the two and get to root on both. Claypool is a great fit as a big target that can out high point most DBs on jump balls and has the speed to separate. It will be fun to watch him take on the larger role to become a 1 or 2 in this league with his new team giving him faith.
  5. Rams are either cutting or trading Akers. If Poles can get a 4th and Akers, it is better than just a 4th. They don't have to keep him if he is garbage.
  6. Rumor swirling the Rams trade Cam Akers and a mid round pick for Montgomery.
  7. That is my goal from the beginning. Fields terrible start to the season had me thinking we might need that high pick to grab another QB1, but he has ascended and worth building around.
  8. Time to tank the season and raise the value of our picks. It sucks to see one of your best go and that is why you don't spend high draft capital at that position.
  9. They can take that first half and be happy. They fought back. They need more talent in the trenches both sides and a stud WR.
  10. Mock using Fanspeak simulator. Only took RB bc he was BPA. Would love to move down since Bresse was a reach. 5: R1 P5 DL Bryan Bresse - Clemson 36: R2 P5 RB Bijan Robinson - Texas 68: R3 P5 WR Quentin Johnston - TCU 107: R4 P5 C Jarrett Patterson - Notre Dame 133: R4 Phi LB Owen Pappoe - Auburn 140: R5 P5 OT Ryan Hayes - Michigan 220: R7 P5 DL Dante Stills - West Virginia Or 5: R1 P5 OT Paris Johnson - Ohio State 36: R2 P5 RB Bijan Robinson - Texas 68: R3 P5 C Ricky Stromberg - Arkansas 107: R4 P5 WR Jermaine Burton Alabama 133:R5 PHI DL DJ Dale - Alabama 140: R5 P5 LB Owen Pappoe - Auburn 220: R7 P5 DL Dante Stills - West Virginia
  11. Brad Biggs said toe injury. We may never know if this dude had any talent. Was hoping he shined at C.
  12. If they Bears don't come out strong and score, I would rather take the loss instead of seeing them win at the end. Wins are good but as we all can see, this team needs almost two years of bottom 5 slotted drafts to get the talent Detroit has acquired recently.
  13. The amount of punts Velus received in college wasn't alot (18). The amount under the lights, lower. Then add every twist that pro punters can launch at him, he is trying to catch punts he has never seen before. Glad they gave him a shot, but he needs a few weeks under the jugs machine catching every punt they can throw at him. If the Bears drafted Velus to be their punt returner, then they scouted poorly. They got their conviction off of a mere 18 punt returns. He has more experience taking kickoffs, so maybe see him there
  14. From an Emma tweet: Justin Fields: “We always get told that we’re almost there, almost there. Me personally, I’m tired of being almost there. I’m tired of being this close. I feel like I’ve been hearing it for so long. At the end of the day, all you can do is get back to work.”
  15. He may not quit but he is thinking what else can I do. He still has a ways to go along with receivers and blockers. It will take adding some pieces and it will take a couple years to get. Hope he doesn't break.
  16. It is just his eyes looking up after receivers drop passes or him getting hit as soon as the ball is snapped and he gets up slow like he is hurt. I hope he doesn't give up but this is what destroys a young QB
  17. Has to be better than these two. The look on Fields face is checked out.
  18. The Bears oline is pathetic. Anyone with the coaches film can make a comedy from it. They need Whitehair back fast and sit Mustispher. Jones and Borum are not long term fixtures either. Good backups, sure.
  19. The Velus Jones Jr Experiment is over. For punts for now
  20. Has to be better than Patrick. Wish they kept Bars. He starts for Vegas Raiders.
  21. Finally, but it should be at least 21-3 by now. Fields is getting beat up
  22. Chico calling out Wentz, who is a veteran, is fine with me. If Wentz takes offense, that's more than he's produce the last few years ?. I hope they play Wentz because the other kid did pretty good last year.
  23. Early thoughts on a position or player. Will top targets be DL, WR or how about a higher level LT prospect? Will Anderson Edge Alabama Jalen Carter DL Georgia Myles Murphy Edge Clemson Bryan Breese DL Clemson Nolan Smith Edge Georgia Peter Skronsku OT Northwestern Paris Johnson OT Ohio State Jaclyn Duncan OT Maryland Jaxon Smith-Njigba WR Ohio State Jordan Addison WR USC Kayshon Boutte WR LSU Quentin Johnston WR TCU
  24. Until the oline is better, I cannot fault Mooney, Kmet, or any other receiver. They are all learning and it seems the line is running behind. Kmet is more you Kyle Rudolph TE than a Greg Olsen or Kelce.
  25. Wow, that is complete garbage by 3 pro football players. Makes me question Poles. Eberflus, and staff about their offensive line "expertise". Lucas Patrick has not been the missing link, more like the weakest link, Braxton Jones is learning on the job but at a price of possibly damaging Fields, and Mustispher is fine to be a backup. Then I question the whole Jenkins debacle. He has been one of their best and to be honest he could be just as good at RT.
