  1. Duke could be a possibility. I still think we find another 4-5th rd pick to fill that roll. Someone that has enough size to carry the load but more speed than Howard.

    Kwiatkoski

Unless they can trade him, you do not make him a cap casualty by cutting him. Let him play out his contract, sign with another team and gain a late rd compensation pick. Pace has tools to make adjustments to have cap space if needed. I dont see their increases causing that yet.
  3. I said no to Mack earlier bahaha. My oh my, I regret that thought. As for Beasley, my gut says no again. Ony because we will most likely need to find a starter or high rotational player at S or CB. We have Floyd and Mack, Fitts and Irving to groom and probably Acho in the mix.
  4. Club Dub will go down in history. Maybe thank the Cubs for bringing that culture into sports. Nagy had a vision and it is working. We will see with our FA's, u think if we are close, they stay.
  5. Draft and develop and offer Lynch another 1 year.
  6. I thought about him as I posted that too, lol. What happened to all our NB's? These guys came from nowhere, played decent as rookies and looks like both have made it. If we left one position open for competition, which one can we find easier?
  7. The best thing going for us with Amos is how deep the FA safety pool is. Collins, Thomas, Clinton-Dix, Joyner, Harris,Vacarrio. Amos fits in the top 3 I'd say, but teams may want more coverage? He may take a discount? We do have a chance to retain him. Amos is more dependable than Callahan too, so he may be next in line. Callahan is a hard to find commodity. Damn this is tough for Pace and Co.
  8. All they can do is have a competition, if Parkey wins out then Parkey it is. The Bears are not in position to sign another high dollar kicker. I hope he takes this season and uses it to make a comeback knowing he is on the brink.

    Draft plan

These were just the players available in first-pick.com's mock draft. I try to read some of the players pros and cons when selecting best available. Wingard didn't look NFL worthy in that clip you posted. Might have to dig deeper to find a SS. I do trust Pace with these past 2-3 drafts that he will find guys that fit.

    Draft plan

Your Picks: Round 3 Pick 23: Boyd, Kris, CB, Texas (A+) Need to groom a replacement for Prince sooner than later. Might be a solid replacement if we lose Callahan. Round 4 Pick 24: Samuel, Deebo, WR, South Carolina (A+) Bonus pick, Deebo is a homerun threat anytime he touches the ball. Solid route runner and excellant KR. Replaces White/Bellamy? Round 5 Pick 24: Wingard, Andrew, SS, Wyoming (A+) Underrated DB, excels in the box but can man centerfielder. Deadly speed especially playing the run. Round 7 Pick 8 (Phi): Fritts, Brandon, TE, North Carolina Why not take a shot on a playmaking TE that used to play with Trubisky. Insurance and a threat to Shaheen to elevate his game. Round 7 Pick 24: Love, Bryce, RB, Stanford (A+) Got my RB in the 7th. Huge potential if his ACL recovers with no limits. Redshirt him while Nall steps up. I would be pleased with a draft like this.
  11. Great news. Continuity in a young offense means the world. Now Nagy has no set backs with the 2nd phase. Imagine if they had to start the season with an unknown. It would take away the little things because added protections would be required. Now they have the freedom to find CB, S, or a RB that can elevate the offense to a top 5 level.
  12. Have to bring a highlight clip. A lot was from his 2017 season, were he was electric. He shows great vision and bursts through holes. I think he makes a pretty good complement to this O if the medical staff think he can be that same player as the clip shows.

    Draft RB

Threw out Loves name before his ACL injury, that may just dip him to our slot. Having Howard and Cohen healthy we would have the beneficiary of letting Love heal and learn the during the first quarter of the season before breaking him in. Elevate Nall as FB/RB/TE because he has that skill set and Nagy loves using those short shuttle passes that fit them.
  14. I think we have a shot at drafting Bryce Love RB Stanford. He suffered a late ACL injury and will not be able to workout predraft. He was a potential 1st RD pick this last draft but he opted to stay in school. His game style fits what the Bears want to do, but he probably won't ge to the field until Sept/Oct. I know RB is not a huge need, but getting another dynamic playmaker can have an impact. It will come down to who's available at OT, S, and CB too.
  15. It would be wise to keep him. Continuity is key and this is year two installing the offense. No sense to create any restrictions or set backs to learn if a replacement can maintain his level or exceed it. Sign him to a deal like you mentioned and groom a player while giving him game time experience.

    Draft plan

Yes, the Bears are set at RB but I would not rule out them taking another. The Bears are missing out on yards that Howard cannot get up to speed fast enough to gain in the second level. I am not saying Howard isn't worthy, he has averaged over 1K yards his first 3 years, but he is coming into his final year and I would hate to see a rookie being depended on without experience starting the 2020 season. I still think Nall would make a great slash player (RB/FB/TE) and when Burton missed the playoff game Nall would have fit in well as his replacement. Getting stronger on the oline is also a need and maybe Heistand can help find a gem to replace Massie at RT. I would not be opposed to seeing Massie signed to a one year type of deal to insure a transition to a draftee or Cowerd goes seamless. Defense wise, we do need a couple of DBs.
  17. He had one of the greatest defenses with Baltimore in 2011. I think personality wise, he will be fun, loved, and fit in with Club Dub. The defense could elevate from respected to feared because he does like to turn up the pressure, which also means risking more.
  18. The Chicago Bears have 4 players named All Pro. Seems like it has been a long time. "outside linebacker Khalil Mack, free safety Eddie Jackson, cornerback Kyle Fuller and return man Tarik Cohen have been named AP All-Pros."
  19. The only worry I have is losing Fangio. He has interviews already lining up and I cringe to think GB will make every effort to get him. They are in the perfect situation to go with a defensive minded coach with a vet QB and established offense to make a final run for Erin's last few years. It would be like losing Gase after Foxs first year.
  20. These past couple drafts were amazing. The best thing Pace has been doing is not drafting for specific needs. None of us projected the Bears going ILB and G/C with our first 2 picks, maybe later when Roquan was an obvious BPA. It is nice also that this board is not loaded with our mocks so far.
  21. Eliminate the Queens. Make the statement that they cannot beat us.
  22. The refs sure seemed to have orders to throw this game (remember SF and Lynch were the darlings of 17 draft and duped the Bears). We were not sharp by any means either, the west coast travel has jet lag effects. I am not sure how I feel about Miller and Bellamy getting ejected. They best not throw punches going forward. You want to get in their face and let them know you have your QBs back, great do that. Give a push, fine, but punching at heads is a complete loss of composure and risking your hands as a WR is dumb. Smart DBs going forward will use that lack of composure against you.
  23. This was a nail biter, thanks to the refs who were a little one sided.
  24. How bout that, #17 scores again. Bears 7 and SF 6. If the Bears can overcome mistakes they can seal a W.
