It also would have been nice to have a OC that actually utilized Forte the correct way but in just sayin

Im not a fan of ogletree with 1st pick. Dude hasn't played an entire yr yet. Lost 6 games due to injury in 1 season and in the other 2 yrs hes been suspended. Once for drugs. With a 1st pick i want a guy u can count on. I spoke to a GA fan and she mentioned that hes a guy that makes u scream cuz hes got the obvious talent but is so stupid at same time
  8. Yes you are correct

I will do flips of joy to see barrett Jones in bears Jersey
  10. I personally don't see Mike Wallace coming aboard cuz he has said he wants fitz type contract. However just think if we could grab him and get Bruce Arians as the HC. Oh boy the possibilities lol
  11. 1st off where is this all pro TE you speak of. I just did some research and Long will want a deal similar to Joe Thomas(7 yrs $84 mil with $44 mil gtd) and i start to wonder is Long worth that much $$ considering the health issues. Hes missed ² games in 2010 and 4 games in both 2011 and 2012. All that being added up and for me hes not worth all that $$ if he brings down that price then fibe lets talk. Also im hearing from several different places we will look to get Tyler Eifert with the 20t pick. Please don't take this like i just wabt to completely ignore tge oline all together just wondering simply if Long is really worth all that
  12. I couldn't agree more and what sold him to me was right after the draft was complete a friend of mine that is a packers fan actually called me and said he will be the steal of the 2012 draft once its all said and done and when it comes to drafts i listen to him. He has nothing better to do and generally speaking isn't wrong often. Give him another yr to work side by side with Marshall and learn what cutler wants hes going to be a very good #2 in this league
  13. Honestly i think they can do both. It all comes down how the deal is structured. There so many ways to structure a contract that doesnt kill the cap. And i have 1 question about Long. Why is he hitting the market. Stud LT's never hit FA anymore. Yes he was a stud prior to his injury last yr. Personally it all sound's to good to be true so pardon me for being a skeptic right now on him.

I think what will happen is 2 new starters with garza, lance louis and Jonathan scott all returning. We may not like it most will scream about but i think that's reality plus i dont think we need a great line. Personally i think we will be fine with a mediocre line as long as the new OC draws up a play book that utilizes cutlers ability to use his legs. That's what made him so dangerous at Denver. And most teams dont have great olines. Look at GB. There oline is complete garbage and the defense blows chunks yet they excel at depth at WR and 1 of the best qbs in the league

Well sure remember bust rate with 1st rd guys as well. The draft is a crapshoot. The best organizations scout really well. Plus dont think its smart to draft that speedy WR in 1st couple rds when he would be ur #4 WR and possibly return kicks plus id rather leave 1st couple rds for major holes like OL
  16. Personally i don't think ur gonna find a stud LT available out there that commands more than $10 million. Those guys never see FA anymore. And i definitely don't want to lose Melton at all
  17. bowlingtwig replied to a post in a topic in Bearstalk
Speedy WRs can almost always be found late in draft like rd 5 and below. Think Johnny Knox he was 5 i believe
  18. Also let's keep in mind on many occasions he has said he doesn't particularly care the cover 2 because it hides some of his strengths like getting after the qb and allowing him to get downhill

Sorry lemon wasn't directed at u personally. More of all those ppl who have such a hard time with us even considering him. My personal thought is what's so wrong with looking at a variety of candidates. Who knows u might stumble upon an ace

Why are we acting like emery has already chosen Armstrong my god. I haven't heard a single person who actually believes that he even stands a shot at the gig. Just a guess here but im almost positive its all to satisfy the Rooney rule. That's not right but that's tge reality of things ever since the NFL created that rule. So please stop acting like he's the guy. From things I've heard on twitter a lot of ppl believe McCoy is the leading candidate at this point
  21. bowlingtwig replied to adam's topic in Bearstalk
Now that's an interesting name considering what he did this yr along with his work with big ben and luck
  22. bowlingtwig replied to adam's topic in Bearstalk
I would totally be ok with Pete Carmichael as the HC. Really sounds like Emery is looking really hard at alot of the top offenses.
  23. I think the new coach should stick with the same style of D while revamping the O. Just my opinion
  24. I guess personally i wouldn't ignore all OL in 1st because of past failures cuz previous regimes however if u want to take a skill position guy instead because u believe he can help more than whatever available olinemen are currently on the board then im totally cool with that but just to ignore the position cuz of Angelo's failures is dumb i think. I've said if Te'o falls to us at 20 then u take him regardless of who is available. In 1st I've always been of the mindset to select best available player generally speaking of course there are a few exceptions
  25. So u say we should ignore OL again just because jerry angelo sucked at it. Sorry but that's idiotic if u ask me. U dont know how much better or eorse Emery is as a talent evaluator compared to Angelo. And just because we have failed recently doesn't mean we should ignore it.
