D actually played well outside of the missed tackle by Callahan. If he keeps his feet he makes the stop. But penalty on fuller is just back can't afford mental mistakes like that
-
My problem the last several yrs has been injuries. Doesn't matter who I pick they are destined to get hurt. Hell even my kicker got hurt. The 1 position where they never get hurt. Inconsistent sometimes yes. Never get hurt lol
-
This will be a real test for our defense but the offense must start producing otherwise I predict we lose by 10
-
Yup. No one even talks about it at all because it wouldn't fit the narrative they have about us. That's the 1 position we have done an excellent job with throughout history regardless of the front office personnel. Forte is showing the wear and tear on his body while we have 1 of the best backs in the league again
-
That alone scares the hell out of me if he's being mentioned with those 2
-
Many would question if fox is even competent
-
No kidding. Unfortunately. All of us have been complaining about the offense all yr
-
Agreed. Things are shaping up nicely for us with the injuries to GB and MN though MN continues to win thanks to there defense. If the coaches actually cared about trying to get to the postseason they need to find some semblance of an offense. Even if it's the dink and dunk take what the defense is giving you. I feel confident that trubisky could run a solid West coast offense with his accuracy. The question will be can we trust the receivers. Which to this point I don't think anyone can actually answer that since they haven't been allowed to do anything except block

Since I obviously had way to much time on my hands just sitting around I decided to dissect the numbers on the much talked about playcalling. It is all over the board. Take a look for yourselves. Wk 1) drop back 44 times compared to 19 rushes Wk 2) drop back 46 times compared to 20 rushes Wk 3) drop back 24 times compared to 38 rushes Wk 4) drop back 34 times compared to 30 rushes Wk 5) drop back 27 times compared to 29 rushes Wk 6) drop back 21 times compared to 54 rushes Wk 7) drop back 11 times compared to 26 rushes In Glennon's 4 games he dropped back 148 times and we ran the ball 107 times. So the ratio was 58/42 pass In Trubisky's 3 games he has dropped back just 59 times compared to a whopping 109 rushes. The ratio there is a staggering 35/65 rushing. When doing this you do see a trend. In games we run the ball more we are 3-1 but 0-3 when we throw the ball more. Which doesn't really come as much surprise considering the strength of the offense is in the 2 headed monster at RB. Whereas the WR corps is probably 1 of the worst I have ever seen. So we should come out running the ball since that is where we excel at. However over the last 2 weeks we have only thrown the ball 28% of the time. That has got to be a major red flag. I can't imagine this can be sustained much more than a couple of weeks. I certainly don't want to see Trubisky come out slinging the ball 35-40 times a game. But he should be throwing the ball more than 10 times you would think. The other thing is if I spent the little bit of time putting this together you know our opponents have dissected it even further than I just did and they will know to just throw 9 or 10 in to the box and stop the run knowing that we aren't even attempting to throw much.

Bingo. 4 for 7 with 4 sacks. That means he only dropped back a total of 11 times. How is he supposed to get into any kind of rhythm of that's what the game plan is. Even the best QBs need to get into a rhythm before they dismantle teams. And what's more frustrating is when you see a 10 man front and you still run the ball. Which tells me the coaching staff doesn't want trubisky Changing plays. This game plan will not work long term. And will get you destroyed against good teams that don't turn the ball over. If we try this again next week Brees will destroy us even if the defense gets 2 or more takeways
-
Absolutely. Need the offense to evolve big time if we want that defense to stay sharp. Giving the opponents the ball for nearly 40 minutes like today is a recipe for disaster
-
Yeah I know lol. I want them to keep proving me wrong. I'll gladly eat crow every week
-
Things could be worse I guess. The Packers QB is 12-25 and trubisky has more yards than him lol
-
The last time we won a game completing 4 or fewer passes I was 1 yr old. Lol
-
Ugliest win I've seen a long time. Lol
-
I just saw after horrible stat. In 2nd half we have run 15 plays for 12 yards. That's not winning football
-
Yup coaches need to be fired for this crap. Our longest drive in the game was a 9 play. 3:53 that end in a missed fg. 0 1st downs in the 2nd half
-
Trevethan with the pick. What a defensive performance 2 weeks in a row
-
4 possession in 2nd half. All 3 and outs
-
Absolutely. That's his strength is his mobility. He's been neutered. 27 plays. 18 rushes to 9 pass. 3 total 1st downs. Thank God for the defense
-
What's our longest drive. 2 mins? Literally even a 5 minute drive and this game is basically over
-
Totally agree. I hate being armchair coach but I'm sure we have a handful of ppl here who could call a better game
-
Yeah this blows. We can't sustain any drives and we aren't even putting trubisky in a situation to win.
-
Another sack and another 3 and out. This is ugly
