Another thought on this is why was it necessary for the players to force this change. Why couldn't the coaching staff recognize that a change needed to be done before the players felt they had to do this
-
I like to follow @tenyardline on Twitter for bears content and on there it's being reported that Benjamin Albright confirms that it was the players who forced the change to trubisky. That speaks volumes of how pissed the players have been. Even pointed out that in last 2 weeks the opposition has started drives inside bears territory due to Glennon mistakes. That's enough to piss off the defense as well as the offense. Good luck to Glennon getting another job after this one
-
Wait for that 1st receiver that's wide open just 10 yds down field. Trubisky hits him and the crowd will go bananas. Yes unfortunately that's how low we have come. Now I'm even more excited to attend the game against GB. We all know he's going to struggle but I think he can at least give us a fighting chance which is all I'm asking for. I'm 37 yrs old and I'm not above asking trubisky just to tease the living shit out of us this yr. Til we can properly surround him with a better cast of players.
-
And there it is according to Adam Shefter trubisky will make his NFL debut against the Vikings on MNF
-
He led with crown of his helmet. That's why it is. Has nothing to do when whistle blows or defenseless player. He wasn't flagged for either of those 2 infractions. And yes your right in past years he wouldn't have been suspended. That's because he doesn't have the history. A new rule went into affect this yr that makes that type of hit suspendable. Past yrs I bet it's a $25k fine. It's got everything to do with leading with crown of helmet
-
They just announced it's a 2 game suspension. I expect a quick appeal and get it knocked down to 1.
-
No I don't think he did premeditated at all. However leading with crown of the helmet is wrong no matter what your aiming for
-
I don't think it was intentional. And anyone who is trying to compare him to burfict clearly doesn't know anything and is only going off the immediate reaction and nothing else. In past this would not have gotten trevethan suspended because those have been for repeat offenders and this isn't his style. However with the new rule change I do think he will get 2 games. He will appeal and get it knocked down to 1. And that's because he led with the crown which is exactly what the NFL has been targeting. Thankfully it appears that Adams will be ok. He tweeted that he was back home and doing well yesterday. After the game and yesterday while all the Packer fans were out in full force acting like they just won the super bowl I was more concerned with Adams. We all love the vicious hits but none of us want to see guys not able to move after it
-
Got to say I agree. For the most part he makes us smarter by the way he brakes it down.
-
Excellent point. Teams aren't afraid of Glennon. Simple as that.
-
After to agree with you. Getting smoked is 1 thing. Hell it happens every other week to us at this point. But this team basically gave up in the 1st quarter after we were down 14-0 before some even turned the game on. I didn't see any fight from anyone. When we got into the 3rd and I saw how chippy it was getting I was glad they never turned to trubisky. Much rather have him start with a clean slate instead of something like that. And then that 4th quarter? I dare any member of the staff try saying that they were trying to win the game. And looking back over the 1st 4 games Glennon has managed to get worse each game not better. His best game was wk 1. No turnovers and almost beating Atlanta. But then turnovers started Happening and then last night with 4. Typically I try to see what caused the turnover. For example runner runs wrong route etc like we saw many times with cutler. But here with Glennon everything has been his fault. I've never seen wide open guys over thrown with sugar regularity. Or how many times has he bounced a pass to a receiver who is less than 10 yds down the field. These are mistakes that rookies don't make every game and here he is doing it every game.
-
That last sentence I swear I've said that at least a dozen times the past several weeks. I hardly ever see the defender look at the ball. When the defender refuses to look for the ball the receiver can just act like he's going to get it and the will throw the flag every time.
-
Both those picks are just ugly and yes I'm trying to be nice. Both receivers were open and both times he missed them by 5+ yds and straight to the arms of the defender. Just wow Is all I can say. I've had enough of him
-
It's helmet to helmet. Good call. Trevethan simply can't do that. I hope Adams is ok. That was tough to watch
-
That TD might have just saved Glennon from getting benched at half. Glennon can't possibly look any worse. It's almost like he has no clue how to do anything
-
Was actually a good throw albeit into triple coverage. Bellamy should have tried to catch it with his hands instead of letting the ball get into his body
-
I agree. He's been in the league long enough if a receiver is open he should be able to hit him. Not miss him by a mile just ridiculous
-
Or 1 last chance for Glennon to get his head his headaches out of his ass. I've watched every GB game this yr. And there 1st game against Seattle that defense actually looked good despite no turnovers. They did a good job of getting after Wilson and Matthews looked like his old self. But I also knew Sea isn't great offensively. So I held judgement. After seeing the last 2 games though that defense ain't good. There tackling is atrocious. Made me cringe although we've seen our own share of bad tackling. Matthews still is very dangerous but outside of him I don't see much. Glennon should be able to work the underneath very well. But part of me is cautious because Glennon isn't good with dealing with pressure and GB can bring pressure. Offensively they are limited right now. Nelson and Rodgers at very good obviously. But Rodgers has be rolling running for his life so far with bahktiari and bulaga both out. And both are listed as doubtful again this week. So it's going to come down to or front 7 not only getting after Rodgers but hitting him every chance they get without getting those stupid penalties. If we commit stupid penalties and give them free downs or not getting off the field on 3rd down then we will get demolished
-
I'm starting to think it will be trubisky wk 5.
-
I'd like to see alot of Sunday come back this Thursday except can we please figure out how to properly throw a forward pass that doesn't hit dirt
-
Is everyone forgetting that the play was actually reviewed. The play wasn't whistled dead because if it had there would be no review as the play would be considered dead at that point. They did let the play finish. Then they huddled together before ruling that he stepped out. This play was just way to close to tell with inconclusive evidence to over rule the call on the field. Which is why the play stood as ruled. I'm willing to bet if they had called the play a TD then it would have stood as well
-
I think we've seen a collection of everything the last 2 yrs
-
This is 2 straight yrs the entire team seems to get hurt. Is there something wrong with the coaching staff or is this just fluke injuries
-
Can't disagree there. Fuller really had looked good
-
I actually disagree. I bet green bay game plans for both
