  1. first before we start thinking draft. I sincerely think that Lovie should start with himself. If I read it right his contract stipulated that he gets more control over team decisions like personnel, coaches etc. and thats great if it's working well. But it's not, He's no "Tony Dungy" like his mentor. Lovie seems to like to surround himself with yes men. God forbid they have a thought of thinking out of the box or the Lovie way. The same could be said for Angelo to a certain point. I'm tired of the Tampa defense, Former Tampa, Ram coaches, and players or anybody related in Tampa OR St louis. It's done, over, fini, addios. His hand picked coaching staff has not produced ( developed ) enough productive players from the drafts that have selected from. Forte, Olsen, harris have God given talents that would be starters on most teams. Hester was a special player on special teams but I will not say at WR. How many pro bowl players O-linemen , D-linemen, Qb's the foundation of a team ? how about WR's, safeties ?. Are not these are weakest points? We have to continually get Fa's to come in and start. Why ? Maybe he thinks of himself as some football guru that needs his coaches to come to him for his wisdom. With the exception of Dave Toub and Rusty Jones who have had been accomplished careers already who is on his staff that teams will be knocking down the door to get too? If you look at his staff behind Tuner and Babich they are all wet behind the ears who probably belong on a college staff if at all. Lovie, probably will not make a change at OC or DC but the assistant's who are suppose to be developing players need to have proven records in the NFL period.
  2. I don't know ? I'm still on the fence on Orton as far as extending his contract. He has done well, better than anyone expected especiallly with the inconsistant play from his WR's and Oline. Maybe I'm just not use to a QB we drafted growing up and getting better before our eyes. Hell I think the last time was nearly 23 years ago !
  3. AGREE, The last 5 games are crucial with several national televised mixed in. There are somethings that have to happen: post big numbers, big plays ( espn and NFL highlight plays of the day ), Bears win ( Networks need to build up teams that will make the playoffs especially conference champs ). PR is crucial to get his name to be talked about as much as his play.
  4. The Score had talked about who was the second highest paid Bear this year. According to the USA today newspaper. I would imagine that the bonus is paid with incentives met. Right ? http://content.usatoday.com/sports/footbal...spx?player=5067
  5. Where is Dan Buenning ? Is he rehabbing ? What's the story on him and why isn't he playing ? He was known for a mauler in the running game. I know he played left guard and some center. At 26 he is still young and coming off an knee injury a year ago he should be just about ready. On the official bear site he is listed at both guard spots. Garza is not a 1st stringer anymore, a good back up yes. Both Kruetz and Garza are getting no push but are getting knocked backwards and are shitty at open field blocking ( to slow on screens or reaching the second level). Please, Am I the only one who sees this ? Let me know.
  6. Kudos to you, 1st I would assume I am a GM or Owner ? I would take URL and Briggs only for the reason that these guys are playmakers but they are in a system that does not let them use all of their god given talents. They would thrive big time with a system that would give you a different look each week that would put pressure on offenses. EX; steelers, eagles. As for adding two players to this TEAM ? I would prefer to go offense especially at OL where Steve Hutchinson would step in at left guard and moving Beekman to the right guard. Hopefully this would spark our running game a bit. And for my second pick will be Brandon Marshall to help on our passing attack.
  7. As much as I hate to say it. Even though it seems that Bear mgnt seems to differ. I'm a big koolaid drinker but so far this season does not look good. Our first 4 games are toughest part of the season and so far we are 1-2. We could have been 3-0. With that said 0-3 was also a possibility but were lucky enough that the colts had some key injuries and manning (rusty) looked like Orton sunday running for his life. This sunday we maybe get lucky if Philly (who had a big win against Pitt and has a divisional game with the redskins in 2 weeks) have a let down. Our defense at times have looked great early in games setting the tone, getting turnovers leaving our offense in great field position. Tampa made adjustments to what the bears were throwing at them. One was finding weak spots and weak links. The spots were quick slants and after beating us over the head all game with that they went to double moves and went up top late in the game. I don't know if playing soft corners was in the game plan but but at least change up once in awhile. Weak links were a inexperienced safety Payne and Hilli (slow as heinze ketchup) who made Stevens look like all pros Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates. Stevens made some key grabs at the right times. We have to let Payne learn and grow but maybe it's time for Glover or Williams to see more playing time LB. I'm not giving the dline any excuses for not getting sacks but three step passes don't give them much time. But they can get their hands up get some deflections. If harris is not 100% why play him at the cost of the team and his future? Indoji and Harrison seem to be adequate and more contributable at this time then Harris. Somebody at the #2 wr spot please stand up and catch the ball (davis). If not why not see if booker or bennet can. Is there a sping league like baseball has a winter league where we can send olsen and Kellen to learn the basics of blocking. We can't fix the Oline this year but next year please get some major help Angelo. Many bear fans are very protective of Kreutz but he sucks in the open field. What I saw was an old man who was late pulling for runs, screens and getting to the second level where the Lb's ran right past him. Qb's- PLEASE! Clean house and start fresh
  8. Unfortunately on offense we are starting from scratch. One could say we are rebuilding on offense with alot more question marks now then last season. I love our picks and the deleting the garbage from least year. But whos at left guard, is still wide open ( metcalf......please! ) Reed and Tyler are in the mix hopefully one of them will out outright take the job by good play and not by who least sux. RB seems there might be a light at this tunnel but again lets make that light brighter by bringing in kevin Jones who has something to prove. While I like Peterson and Wolfe I still want somebody who can take it to the house on all 3 downs. This keeps defenses honest. Wr is a hope and a prayer, do we have anybody who can consistantly go deep or go over the middle and catch the ball and stay healthy all season ? We have one or the other, but not the "one WR" who can do it all. Next year sign big time FA. Qb I can't even talk about it because it's hurts! Just maybe the plan is to build an offense so that if some special FA QB comes free next year he'll look at the Bear offense say I can work with this especially with a new O.C. ans some FA help at WR.
  9. THX guy's, I hope this works

  14. I wrote asking about this travesty and I had no response. I even volunteered my services as head consultant and judge. Go figure ! I even told them I knew of some fine individuals from this site who could help like yourself.
  15. I myself have to take Otah for several reasons- #1 we desperatley need help on the oline. If this oline does not improve no matter who we plays at qb, rb, wr. this offense will go nowhere much like last year. #2 Clady seems to intrigue me and has a high ceiling. With great coaching and player development he is a definatley a worth while pick at 14. Unfortionatley the bears have neither on offense and Otah is a pluggin player with minor technique problems that can be corrected in camp. #3 yea will miss the top 2 to 3 rb's in the first round. But in the second rd I feel that this class is deep and should pick a decent RB who could challenge Benson for his job if needed too.
  16. I have xbox 360 and play COD4 AND HALO but prefer COD4. NAME; ShootURarse
  17. It's been awhile! I had to take some time off from any kind of Bearstalk. I was so frustrated with Bears management and CO. last year that I had to recharge my batteries. I missed some members, especially the old guards of BearsTalk. I hope they are still here and active in this forum. I do have some reservations on this up comming season. We all know that they need quality starting players on offense and a couple on defense. But their coaching staff is in need of repair also. Can you remember any olinemen that was drafted and has become a good consistant starter ? I can't ? How about QB's ,Wr's, and rb's ? We do have a shot at TE if they don't have him put on x amount of lbs and become a blocking TE only. From what I've seen Turner has no clue how to use him. What I'm getting at is that Lovie since he got here prided himself on teaching players. Well, it seems the coaches he picks are horrible from the start, leaving or fired after a year, are just too green to coach at the nfl level . How does one still expect player development of any kind. Hell, maybe it's the players they drafted who knows? Peace
  18. I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays ? I like the new site but it needs some of Pixs touch here and there. lol I don't want to kicked off this site the first day so let me ask before I put a Grouchy sig at the bottom of everypost. If the moderators could reply I would appreciate it. Thanks guys!
