  1. It really does. I suspect it will be like that until the next "cool" defensive scheme comes out.
  2. Disagree on some of that Tom. Just because I am a Bears fan doesn't mean I dont recognize the faults of our players. I know the faults of every single one of our players. But I can still root for them because I am a fan of the team. Every player in the league has weaknesses and faults. If they didn't it would be a boring, robotic league. The reason I dont give a crap about this is the commish has dealt with it already. Punishment has been handed out and unless something new that Wild Bill didnt admit to comes out, its a dead issue.
  3. Well it all depends on the defense. But with how athletic players are at every position I have to agree that alot of the old school guys would have trouble in todays NFL.
  4. I'm not sure where you get that Orton is much better than Rex. Their numbers are comparable and when Orton finally got to play last year I was really expecting more. His accuracy was trash with him bouncing balls like some rookie. There is just no way you can say that Orton is so much better at QB than Rex. Personally I just hope one of them figures it out. If they dont I would rather watch Hanie or Hill to just watch someone new.
  5. Again you are not looking at facts. He had good games in the second half of 2006 and in the playoffs that year. He also had a couple last year. But the charge that some crapbag qb is going to be handed a long term contract is ridiculous, IMO.
  6. I hear ya. He is the key to the defense as far as I'm conserned. And who the heck is Leonard PEters???? lol
  7. Yeah but that's alot of ifs, though. Lets say option 1 happens AND Orton gets hurt, Hanie comes in a tears it up. Rex wouldn't get an extension then. Option 2 is too many if and and buts
  8. lol. Seriously dude, you are making this WAYYYYYYY more drama than it is. I'm not sure how you jump from me saying he shouldn't negotiate his contract in the press to all of that. I sure dont think it is ripping him. I dont hate the GM. I dont hate the coaches (although I am putting them on notice...they need to start developing all this young talent). And I AM a fan of Url. Doesn't mean I have to agree with everything he does or love everything about him. He is awesome on the field, but I wouldn't exactly call his off the field decisions fantastic. I dont think he is very smart and dont think he is that great a leader on the field (Mike Brown is an awesome leader and very smart). But I am still a big fan. But dont call my fandom of the team out. That s pretty weak.
  9. lol Its pro football. In this latest era, there isn't one player that doesn't look out for their best interest first. I'm sure Url doesn't sit down and wonder what the fans are thinking when he is making these decisions. Its great to have fans like you because it increases your jersey sales and endorsment oppotunities. But he isn't out there thanking the fans for his Vitimin Water money.
  10. This is the kind of ignorant crap I hate when people talk about Rex. They refuse to accept the fact that two seasons ago he had a good year(the best of any Bears qb since Kramer) and got the team to the Super Bowl. Last year was trash(although looked better at the end until he got hurt). So from that potential the team got a cheap, one year deal on a qb who has shown great flashes. If he doesn't get it done this year, he's done in Chicago. Basically its between Rex and Kyle to win that long term deal.
  11. Its nothing really bad. We just disagree. I would like to see that stuff handled behind closed doors. It has the potential to be a PR nightmare if it keeps going. And we all know that URl is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so I'm sure he'll say something stupid along the way.
  12. As soon as he started talking about his contract to the media, he was. Then joking about retiring and holding out and all this. Pure jockying through the media.
  13. Sorry man, but its a "what have you done for me lately" league. Urlacher is my favorite player on the Bears, I have his jersey, etc. Dont mean I have to agree with everything he does. And players and agents have gotten around the "teams can tear it up" contracts by getting big guaranteed money in signing bonuses, etc. And he has been paid well by the Bears. I dont fault him for trying to get more cash, but playing it through the media and sitting out is garbage.
  14. I disagree with that statement. AP was garbage blocking last year, and Wolfe was much better after the catch from what I saw.
  15. I disagree. I think Wolfe is better than AP.
  16. lol I guess you didn't check out the "Is it me or what" thread
  17. This kind of crap is why we have been hording linebackers the last couple of drafts. You want to joke about retiring, do it. See how easy it is to pay that child support with no job. Plus I sure hope he is not wanting a raise based on last year.
  18. Realisticly though, how many more years does he have with that back? I dont want to pay for a guy to be on the sidelines.
  19. Couple of comments: First I like the Gould deal. To find someone that can kick in the winter at soldier field is key. Second, my take on Harris is if he wants to be paid like a top defense player, he needs to stay healthy like one. The Bears can't afford to lay massive coin on a guy who misses games each year. Dont get me wrong I think he is a great player, but if a good chuck of cap is wasted on the sidelines then its not worth it.
  20. Ahh so thats why everyone started dropping balls and Berrian thought he was better than he is. lol
  21. Agree good stuff. Agree with the Moose point. A possesion receiver should never be at the top of the league for drops. And then blame the QB's. I never thought he was the "captain" everyone made him out to be. I like alot of the 7th round and FA linemen we brought in, although just cause someone took some snaps at center doesn't mean Kruetz is gone.
  22. lol My fault. It should have said "Good info again" I was typing in the dark. Seriously though. Continue with these cause they are good reads.
  23. Get info again Tom. Please continue the steam of good info.
