The thing everybody brings up is that Rex does not step into the pocket but retreats under pressure. So obviously he sees it if he is retreating. Plus I think he got into some bad habits because of the pressure coming from the middle. Hard to step up when it it into pressure. I just haven't seen Kyle do enough to annoint him this "pocket wizard". I have seen instances where he was rattled by pressure as well and thrown bad balls. Still dont get the sense that Kyle has this amazing pocket sense where Rex does not.

I dont know. Saying it at all kind of chaps me. And I'm a big Hester fan.
-
Why, at least they would have an excuse to suck. At least I would have hope in the fact that they would get better. Hell, the righty probably has a better arm than Griese anyway.
-
Again, I still dont see how anybody thinks that Orton is so much better than Rex. Stats dont back that up. I just hope one of them steps up from being mediocre.
-
I think he is just saying its weird to actually see him on the field.
-
Well it would have sounded better if it didn't come the day after he complained about being the lowest payed Pro Bowler
-
I'd rather have one of those rookies we have in there than some old hack like Griese. Sometimes not knowing what they can do is better than having somebody that just sucks.
-
Come on Tom. dude is not blowing you off. In fact there is an interview with him on chicagobears.com so I'm surprised as to this quip in your post. In that interview, he kind of sounds annoyed at all the same questions he's probably heard for six years. It doesn't really bother me that he is not talking to the media more, especially when people rip his butt when he answers honestly to that media. And like you said Tom, all of this predicting of QB's is just to get readers. We will have to get to preseason and actually see them in games. In my mind, Orton will clearly have to be better than Rex as Rex has shown he can be great and has gotten his team to the super bowl.
-
How about a million for every touchdown return!!!!!
-
You dont need to...all you need is to look at the facts Yeah but at what point are Rex and Orton vets. In my mind they are. How many years has Rex been in the league and isn't it Ortons 4th year? What we have is two vets fighting for the starting job with a couple of rookies going for the third spot and practice squad. Griese turned out to be pooh. He lost some of those games all by himself. So that actually goes against the logic of having a vet, cause if he sucks it really doesn't matter And it doesn't matter if we have a deep threat or not if we can get them the ball. Shoot last year we had Berrian and Hester and we couldn't get them the ball because of a poor o line and Griese's arm strength. Our offense sucked with them. Hopefully this year we can get some of those intermediate routes that move the chains.
-
Again what key players did we lose besides Berrian? Looks to me like we got rid of a possession receiver who couldn't catch, ran crappy routes, and threw QB's under the bus. And a special teams guy, man we have more than enough to make up for Ayanbadejo.
-
Hey I'm all for giving him a couple more million a year, but not a top wr contract.
-
I am the biggest Hester fan but that pisses me off. I agree he should be paid more, but not as a top level wr yet. "I'm the lowest paid probowler" Dude, your a kick returner. You want cash, perform every play!!!!!

lol touche

Hopefully they can let Kyle know in training camp that you are not allowed to skip the ball off the turf to the receiver, it actually has to make it in the air for it to be a completion.
-
Man I totally disagree with you on all of this. If you look at the stats, the only receiver that was significantly better upon Moose arrival was Justin Gage. And he only improved by 200 yards. Bobby Wade's production dramatically decreased. Berrian and Clark's were about the same and Moose himself only produced 50 more yards than David Terrell and it took him 20 more catches to do that. The receiving production as a whole was down. Plus that was the year he dropped a couple touchdown passes and blamed it on Orton for gods sakes instead of being a leader and taking resposibility for himself. The only receiver that improved tremendously during his tenure here was Berrian and I can make a pretty good case for Grossman being the one to exploit his one trick, speed, and making him into a guy who got paid.
-
To me Berrian could speed up and slow down but didn't change his route. Perfect example was in, I believe the San Diego game, he was running a seam looking over the inside shoulder Rex threw it to the outside. Any normal receiver changes directions and make a catch near the goalline. Berrian just kept jogging in a straight line. The defender changed direction and got a pick. The commentators ripped Berrian and I lost some respect for him cause for my taste thats letting your QB and team down by not doing everything you can to catch the ball.
-
I agree with this. Moose was never the "leader" they wanted while he was here. He was a possession receiver who led the league in drops, ran crappy routes, and threw QB's under the bus for his drops. In my mind, Booker is much better than Moose. And please dont give Berrian that much credit. He was a one trick pony who should pay Grossman half of his big salary because if Rex wasn't tossing him perfect longballs that year, he would not have gotten paid this year.

Yeah trap, you should definitly be on BEnson side after that BS treatment.

man u did get screwed. lesson learned I guess lol

I feel for ya on the girlfriend thing, but that is the risk you take dating someone next door. Its a don't crap where you eat thing IMO. But you did do something illegal, you had underage drinkers in your house. And I guess it is a matter of opinion if Benson had bad judgement. You and MAd think he did. I side with nfo on this one. Its not like it was the Minny sex boat. If Benson was on his boat have some drinks with some friends and his mother, then I fail to see where he has used poor judgement. It appears that the River squad had a jonesing for him. And if reports can be believed there were plenty of boats that get tied up doing the same thing. I would be interested in seeing what other boats were boarded that day.

Cedric Benson Vs. Joakim Noah: Why Are We More Angry at Benson?

lol Jackson is garbage. Grossman is much better than him. Although you might be right about the best chance to start. I'm not up to date on any body elses qb situation but if Josh Mcown could still be given a chance to start, I'm sure a guy who got his team to the Super Bowl would too. -
Beer pong, caps , spades, quarters, those and more. I'm 32 and still play that stuff. Fun times. And BTW LT2 I teach high school math and they dont make kids take a Constitution test at least in AZ. Sometimes I ask my kids geography questions or history questions and the answers are incredible. Like one kid last year thought Columbus sailed in 1800. Good stuff. Trap, hey man Benson didn't let a bunch of underage kids throw a party on his boat so the comparison doesn't really apply. And a bit of advice..... if you live next to your ex....MOVE

Cedric Benson Vs. Joakim Noah: Why Are We More Angry at Benson?

See thats that same old stuff Tom. He has been out of shape ONE year. And the staff had asked him to put on weight. His two seasons before that he was in great shape and running well. And where has it been reported that he simply wont put effort into blocking or catching. He was better at blocking this year, and some believe he was better than AP at blocking last year(I believe nfo did a whole piece on that). So basically one in three years he was bad, probably took it for granted, plus his line was crap and he was getting hit in the backfield. The hate was so ridiculous during the season I remember people absolutely ripping him for not breaking tackles IN THE BACKFIELD. Have we become this spiteful as a fan base that people rip a back for getting hit in the backfield? Its getting to the point where we are borderline insane. Hey I have yelled at Rex and Ced and Moose and the defense and Olin and the oline plenty. But I also recognize that each and every one of them has done things to help us win. To paint a broad picture and generalize things as much as I see I beyond illogical.
