Actually he could have followed Berrian to Minny and probably been pretty good. Awesome line, awesome running game and his buddy who only hustles when rex is throwing it deep. In my mind he feels like he owes Lovie and JA since they gave him a shot.

The reason is that Chicago Bears fans are some of the most unreasonable fans in their expectations and treatment of players. Alot of times they hate just to hate. Ced has had ONE bad year. Two years ago he was pushing TJ for playing time looking great at the end of the year. Two years ago the hate was on Rex for being simply inconsistant. No props were given for his good games, but hate was piled on for his bad games. Even today, we have people on this board who WILL NOT acknowledge his positive games and stats. Last year it was becoming old hat to hate Rex so the torch was passed to Ced. It started when they traded TJ away, even though TJ was an above average back at best who was helped by the platoon situation with Ced and an oline who was apparently playing above their heads. Shoot we have people on the board who call a kid who has shown potential,vagina and woman because he gets hurt, like that is his choice. Even though we have vets that get hurt just as much. I very much believe that Rex should have went elsewhere this offseason for the simple fact that he will NEVER be given a fair shake in Chicago. Even if he plays all world, the first sack he takes or pick he throws people will be all over him. Sometimes you gotta have patience. And the reason no one cares about Noah is that once Jordan left, people simple stopped caring about the Bulls.

Maybe most would, but I wouldn't. From what I have witnessed, he is average to slightly above average. He gets bullrushed too much, has trouble shotgun snapping, and 85% of the time misses his block on a pull and/or screen. IMO he needs to step it up this year.

I hear ya man. Its just this thing with alot of Bears fans. They pick a guy and ride him to death. Has Rex been outstanding? At times he has. But people have very selective memories. Same thing with Ced. Before last year he looked great. He had burst and powerand was the next big thing, but all of a sudden one year and one crappy line later he never had any talent and is the worst player in the world. I'm not saying Rex and Ced are all stars, but facts are facts. They are not the terrible players people make them out to be. They are not Edgar Bennett and Jon Quinn.

But in general the athletes are bigger, stronger, and faster now a days. If you would like to give me some 40 times and 20 times then we can compare Butkus and Url. But my point remains valid. Butkus would not be as successful in the Tampa 2 as Url. Butkus would be moved to Sam or Will in this defense. He compares more to Briggs than Url.

What plays has he made??? IMO when he came in last year he didn't look great to me. He was wildly inaccurate, bouncing passes to wide open receivers. Again there is NO way you can logically say, with facts, Kyle is better than Rex. At best they are comparable. Your support for Kyle being so much better is your feeling about sack and squirrel nuts. The simple reason Kyle is not the starter is he hasn't played well enough to earn it. You say he hasn't been given the same opportunity, yet I seem to remember him starting after rex got hurt in 2005. And he started last year. And didn't tear it up. And Tom I refuse to believe that Angelo and Lovie would start Rex over Orton if Orton outplays him. Those guys want to win too. They absolutely will not do this. Again if Kyle outplays Rex then great, but it absolutely hasn't happened yet.

Sorry man. No way Butkus could play middle linebacker in the cover two. No way he covers that deep middle.
