  1. I don't know but the Raiders have probably the scariest fan base next to the eagles and steelers. I personally I would fear for your personal safety. I think Sons of Anarchy are Raiders fans....
  2. Yes, sign him. JA - needs to be all in!!!
  3. No thanks - B Lloyd has as recentley as last year trashed the Bears during a local sports radio interview. Dude is acrobatic and with good hands but he is not a big physical WR that we need. Now I would be interested in the Broncos Left Tackle! - I would trade a future pick for Clady.
  4. I really do not like Joe Buck, he is constantly over criticizing Cutler like the rest of the national media. Here is the Aikman quote you are referring too: " Well Joe as much as Culter has been hit in the pocket today, I think I would be standing by myself too; it's the only time he gets to himself." Has anyone else notice Cutler making more effort to display some emotion this season. He actually smiled during week 1 and saw him voicing his frustrations to his QB coach on Sunday vs the Saints.
  5. The Bears completely controlled the game from a physical and intensity standpoint. They have that Chicago Chip on the shoulder swagger and were absolutely relentless! I don't recall seein ghtis killer instinct in quite some time. DL line seems rejuvenated and the most active I can recall since the SB team. I feel the Bears have some unfinished business and it is Superbowl or Bust! I was giddy watching the game and just loving the energy and play making on both sides of the ball. As far as the Olione goes as I was telling a friend: At some point the Bears had to bite the bullett and get younger on the OL. I did not have great expectations but was pleasantly surprised that this unit is further along than they started off last season which is a positive. I love that the Bears actually have some prototypical OL size and were also physical at certain points of the ball game. Need to be more consistency but hope this unit will get better each week. Another point; Earlier this preseason I was banging on the new kick off rule but my opinion has changed. The Bears will benefit more from the rule change because ST will be able to pin an opponent deep and then allow the DEF to come in and get a 3 and out, ST will then get the ball back to the O with great field position. Great formula that worked against a media darling team in the Falcons. I also liked how the Bears executed when faced with adversity such as the no TD call on the Hester pass play that was clearly a TD which was followed by the Spaeth TD play action I believe. Past Bear Teams would not have converted the TD after the blown call and would have settled for 3 pts. Awesome start to the season! I am Highly Optimistic this will be a very enjoyable season! Forgot to mention, for the most part thought the play calling and execution was very good! Jay seem to be getting rid of the a lot quicker than last year. Can't wait for when the Bears come to Denver in December!
  6. Too bad that won't matter with the new NFL kick off rule change. It is a complete joke. I went ti the Broncos 3rd preseason game against Seattle (they are putrid on offense) and between the two team there must have been 9 touch backs. Both kickers would just kick a line drive out of the back of the endzone. A few actually came close to going through the uprights! The NFL should just replace the extra point with if you kick it through the uprights on the kickoff you should get a point! Stupid, stupid rule!
  7. I would add that Toe would fit John Fox's type of player but no way do the give up Clady.
  8. I would also take the money as long there was no strings attached aka a loan with steep interest! What the NCAA is doing to Terrel Prior is ridiculous! I equate this to what if the NCAA was able to tell Bill Gates he could not start his own business because of ______ (insert) rule and regulation. I have my Masters in Sports Admin from UNM and most of my class mates were wanting to work in College Athletic Programs but I never entertained the notion out of principle alone.
  9. I have actually walked on the field at Invesco here in Denver and had no idea it was the same that thew packers use. The Broncos have one of the best looking playing surfaces in the NFL. No reason why the bears do not have this DD GrassMaster field.
  10. I thought I remember reading/ hearing that the City was wanting the Bears to use the Field Turf but the team refused per their contract. This article make sense from the stand point why the league has not stepped in a pressured the Bears to at least put in the field like GB. I also disagree the field give the Bears an advantage unless being shitty for both teams is an advantage? I emailed this topic off to the ESPN raido heads (M&M, Cowheard and SVP) to see if they can get some national attention on this subject. There really is no excuse to have the worst natural surface in the league. Hopefully they will talk about this issue which may at least limit the amount of time they spend every day talking about TEBOW!
  11. The part about how Jay would not let his HS Coach's mental games get to him as he was smart enough not to give the coach the satisfaction of getting a response is actually quite brilliant and a mature way to respond. This reminds me of something my dad once told me when I was a kid; he said if someone was annoying you do not let them know it bothers you cause then they will never stop. When you ignore them you have the power and they will quickly refocus their efforts elsewhere. Well that is a lesson that Jay probably was taught from his parents and think it works. It actually really pisses of the people who are trying to get a reaction but can't which is great! This may very well explain why Jay get under his critics skin so much. He's not aloof he just not going to give those people the time of time and that really gets them going.
  12. Absolutely agree with you Jason. I heard part of this as well on M&M and on Cowherd this morning and I feel the media thinks every Chicago team is run like the Cubs.....lousy with fans who are aloof. They love hating on Chicago for some reason. Yes, Green Gay had a great season especially with all the injuries with still making it to the SB and winning. Bears Beat themselves in just about every loss that I can remember last year (my memory not that good). In my opinion the most disappointing game from last season was when the bears lost 7-6 to GB;having a chance to knock them out and failed. I think this Bear team will be much better than last years team for several reason while I do not think GB did much to improve their team from last year. Fisrt another year in the MArtz system, hope to see much better execution fom the "O" and feel the WR and RB additions will help greatly. NEw Punter who can directional kick and boom it will help ST. By virtue of the TE's that are now on this team we should see more max protect and a better power run game which will benefit Jay while help keep him more up right than on his back this year. The OL will probably be better even though they did not make a significant OL addition other than Carimi.
  13. It certainly could not be more expensive than re-sodding Soldier Field every other week as it appears they do every season. Also, it seems there are a lot of other events and games on the field which contributes to the mess as well. World class City with 3rd World playing field. Utter embarrassment.
  14. I guess we will not see Melton make any kick / punt returns this preseason!
  15. We certainly did not make the big splash in FA as last year but I think overall was a solid FA signings. I am happy that the Bears finally brought in some big bodies to compete at WR and hopeful will provide a nice physical target for Cutler that will complement the speed receivers (knox / hester): I expect this team to be much more physical on Offense this season especially with the addition of RB Marion "the Barbarian." Again many of us were hoping for a key addition to the OL which so far has not happen but I do like that the OL is much bigger than the past few years as well. Adams, Kris * 84 WR 6-3 195 UTEP R 23 Bennett, Earl 80 WR 6-0 206 Vanderbilt 4 24 Cobb, Travis * 15 WR 6-0 180 Arizona R 24 Fantuz, Andy 83 WR 6-4 215 Western Ontario 1 27 Hester, Devin 23 WR 5-11 190 Miami 6 28 Hurd, Sam 81 WR 6-3 200 Northern Illinois 6 26 Jones, Onrea 17 WR 6-0 202 Hampton 1 27 Knox, Johnny 13 WR 6-0 185 Abilene-Christian 3 24 Sanzenbacher, Dane * 18 WR 5-11 180 Ohio St. R 22 Williams, Roy 11 WR 6-3 215 Texas 8 29 Young, Jimmy * 19 WR 6-1 208 TCU R 24 Clark, Desmond 88 TE 6-3 249 Wake Forest 13 34 Davis, Kellen 87 TE 6-7 267 Michigan State 4 25 Smith, Andre * 85 TE 6-5 267 Virginia Tech R 22 Spaeth, Matt 89 TE 6-7 260 Minnesota 5 26
  16. CB - Cromartie is still unsigned, at 6'2 I would not mind him lining up across from Tillman.
  17. Are we sure Kenny Williams is not working for the Bears as well? Kenny is all over players who were once great but can now be had for cheap as they are on the decline and also has the knack of trading for former high draft picks that have failed to live up to expectations.
  18. Couple of thoughts...... Olson Trade: I understand that Greg is soft but was a pretty good TE for us. I know that Matt Spaeth was brought in to help protect Jay and along with K. Davis will provide bookend TE's when we go max protection or when they run the ball smash mouth. I just can not help thinking why the Bears could not get more than a 3rd pick for Olson? Nor why they could not trade him for a solid CB or OG? Roy Williams: At first I was luke warm on this signing but now have mulled it over and think this is a solid pickup that did not break the bank. When Roy is focused and a primary target he still has a lot of talent. Gholston: This is was another smart pick up with nothing to lose. If they can get some Mark Anderson's rookie season like production out of him on 3rd downs that would be a tremendous boost! You need to do 2 things at a high level in this league to have a chance at a SB; You have to be able to rush the passer and 2. you have to have an above average QB. Free Agents Needs: a quality starting C, OG, CB, and DT. Does anyone know if there is any chance at a OG like Carl Nicks? What are your thoughts on signing a CB like A. Cromartie or C. Rogers?
  19. Don't thank me; thank global warming!
  20. I should have mentioned compared to Chicago, Denver is relatively mild. Even on "cold days" the sun seems to shine every day and with the low humidity it does not feel as cold as the horrible overcast, dreary, miserable weather like back in Chitown during the winter. With that said, we went to the game last time the Bears came to Denver; you know when Kordell was our QB, it was only 19 degrees and I froze my freakin butt off in the nose bleed section! That was an ugly and cold win! Denver average temperature for Dec: 48 degrees
  21. BB, Keep in touch and let me know if you want to see about meeting up for the game when tickets go on sale. ParkerBear
  22. Too bad you not coming to Denver which really is a moderate climate and not bad temperature wise in DEC. Invesco is very nice modern stadium bu the fans are annoying.
  23. I live in South Denver and waiting for the single game tickets to go on sale. I have a couple of buddies flying in from Chicago to attend and wanted to know if any you denver based Bears fans are planning on attending? If you are let me know and we can tail gate before the game. ParkerBear7
