That was a typo; i know the bears are a 4-3.

maybe Albert's agent could pay back a portion of the $21 M bonus in order to negotiate his release? Then he would be a FA and could sign with a 3-4 team like the Bears! I don't think Angelo would seriously pull the trigger (since he passed on Moss) but this team is still desperate to make the playoffs and still have four games left to make that happen.

I was thinking the exact same thing. When Peyton Manning throws 4 picks sixes in consecutive weeks the mother-ship as DP refers to ESPN as; are making excuses left and right in defense of Manning. No Bear QB that I am aware of has done this in recent years! That is down right atrocious play by Manning but that is the reality when your team is 1 dimensional on offense when you can not run the ball! Maybe Jay's personalty brings some of this on himself but it is unfortunate that the talking heads can not at least acknowledge or give credit when it is earned. Jay is far from perfect but he is doing a much better job with his decisions and minimizing his mistakes. If the OL can do the same this team has a chance to contend. I hope Martz keeps the balance on offense and Tice can get more out of the OL.

This game is going to be a great test to see what kind of team the Bears really are this season. If the bears win they will have proved the naysayers wrong and will get some respect but mostly importantly they will be 1 more win closer to winning the NFC North.. If the Bears loose they will be no worse than tied for first with 3 games remaining and the finally against Green Gay! I am looking forward to this game and the timing is perfect from the standpoint the Bears will get a playoff type match-up with a few games remaining to build some momentum with a win or get a reality check with time to regroup if they loose. Go Bears! -

My prediction is that Peppers will knock Brady out of the game early in the 2 Qtr and the Bears will have a comeback win! -
Let add some more qualifiers here like 2 picks from our 1st, 2nd or 3rd round choices. "not 2 of first 3 picks" becuase that could mean 2 picks out ofi the 3rd, 4th, or 5th round since JA could have traded back etc.

Bears WR situation could have included .......
ParkerBear7 replied to ParkerBear7's topic in Bearstalk
I know this is not "Madden" but to say Moss and Owens could not of helped this teams could not be farther from reality. Also, we no in reality there is no way that JA would have aquired both especially if he did sign TO in the offseason. TO is still a beast and gives max effort; kinda like the AJ Pierzinski of WRs in football; you know a grinder who rubs people the wrong way but truly hates losing. Its funny that many on this board (myself included)criticise Lovie for showing no emotion but a guy like TO who is emotional is labeld a A-hole. I actually would take TO over Chad Johnson who is an a-hole. I not only want wins, I want another Superbowl Championship before another 25 years!!! I am not trying to be negative either....I am over pleased with the team and if they can correct the offesive issues this team can make the playoffs. This team has more talent than given credit for but why not improve your team at every position when given an golden opportunity? Nothing against our current WR's ( I actually like them all ). Winning is an important ingredient for good chemistry and without winning chemistry is irrelevant. Frankly this team could use some more swagger. TO is an excellent blocking WR and MOSS still can go deep. I am sure Favre and Brady would still love to have Moss. We should thank Chilly and Belichick as now we don't see Moss 3 times this year! I did not mean to imply that MOSS and or TO would have prevented Cutler from taking a beating but they certainly would have forced the opposing DC to scheme differently. It would have been virtually risk free considering that the big three JA, Philips and Lovie are possible fighting to keep thier jobs and must win at all costs. TO would have been a bargain and I don't care if Moss did not except an extension. Sure I would love to have Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson but they are locked up and not available. Think about this MAX Protect line-up deployed in the redzone? TO......Davis...OT....LG....C.....RG....RT....Clark.....MOSS Cutler Forte NOW tell me again why you would not want these 2 on your team? -
While catching a glimpse of the MNF game were TO look very good I ponder the following: If someone would have told me at the end of last season that the Bears could have an opportunuity to get both TO and Moss on the roster this season I would of said no way. But that is exactly what JA could have done this season. TO is having a very strong year and Randy has been productive as well. Too bad JA did not go and get these guys when they were available. Because JA would then only really need to focus on solidifying the OL in the next draft and some additional depth at CB, DT, DE etc. But JA decided to be more riske and rely on young and inexpierenced WR / OL group which has the team in its current situation (Cutler getting creamed) that will probably end badly and get a new regime for Da Bears next year.

I thought this post was going to be about Wade Phillips, whom makes Lovie look emotional! We could have a worse head coach......
-
Yes, I just heard that this morning on the way to work. I am a little intrigued with Troy Smith starting for the 49ers and he may give them a spark. I think SF will win. I reside in the Denver area and get very annoyed with Bronco fans whom by the way got embarrassed by the Raiders last sunday.
-
Unfortunatley you will be seeing 2 of the worst teams in the NFL; so it should be a good game!
-
side note: Jay's swagger is still on the ground in the Giant's Stadium. Not to make excuses for Jay but 3 of the picks his WR's did not continue the route or even fight to break up the pass which Troy Aikman also pointed out. Jay should of had a rushing TD but we all know that Lovie inexcusably did not that game changing play. Can we get D. Clark and Kellen Davis some reps at H-Back / TE? The hardest thing to accept is that the Bears beat themselves once again (whole Offense and Coaching) for the second straight week. Heres to hoping that they can regroup on the bye week!

If there is a team that needs an RB - they would proabably try and get one from Dallas or Carolina.

Brett Favre gets hit below belt by errant throw
ParkerBear7 replied to ParkerBear7's topic in The Sports forum
Now that was even funnier!! -
Publicity slut, Favre gets hit in the junk by an alleged errant pass thrown during Thursday's practice that was caught on video. I think this is most likely a cover up and the errant pass may have been deliberatley thrown by Favre's wife in retaliation for the text message junk photo scandal but we may never know the truth. Rodger Goodell is beleived to be seeking to meet with Mrs. Favre to get her side of the story before it is decided on how to properly discipline her! Have fun watching Brett be dropped to his knees! http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/index?id=5687591

Saw this video on ESPN and think this was the next publicity stunt for the spotlight slut! http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/index?id=5687591

www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-1015-dan-mcneil--20101014,0,4337913.column chicagotribune.com Bears bungled O-line from the start Knowing it was a weakness, they should have pushed the linemen harder in training camp Dan McNeil 8:39 PM CDT, October 14, 2010 As the Bears scramble for ways to keep their knocked-loopy quarterback vertical, it's laughable coaches are being praised for "adjusting." Guys with whistles are being termed "flexible." I think a better word is desperate. Slap 'em on the back if you want, but all I see is the rearranging of deck chairs on the Titanic that is the Bears' offensive line. The nine first-half sacks allowed against the Giants two weeks ago was the first iceberg of note. What the Bears are doing is conducting training camp more than six weeks after it closed. Applaud nothing. This week's game of "Musical Bears" is merely another exhibit of general manager Jerry Angelo's poor draft record and Lovie Smith not making use of his training camp at Olivet Nazarene Country Club. The biggest concern of the offseason — and by a mile — was protecting Jay Cutler. Smith, Mike Martz and Mike Tice whiffed by not having their big uglies get nasty in Bourbonnais and prove themselves. A little live action between the bags instead of "thud" would have served well for a team with inexperience and positional changes up and down the offensive line. So here it is Week 6 and Tice is singing the praises of Chris Williams, his left tackle turned right tackle turned left guard, as a potentially fine run-blocking guard. Good to know it took only 2 1/2 years to find a job befitting the 14th player chosen in the 2008 draft. And it's by necessity, not because Williams has done anything noteworthy. Roberto Garza (out with a knee) has played poorly but at least has a few skins on his wall during his pro career. Williams doesn't. In many ways, he's a rookie. He spent his first year in the tub with back issues. He played some right tackle last year, until late December when it occurred to the Bears that Orlando Pace was a bad idea. Now he's a run-blocking stalwart at guard. Sure he is. We haven't seen Williams since he strained a hamstring in Week 2 against the Cowboys. I don't know how one injures a hamstring without moving one's feet, but he did. And the Bears protected Cutler better after Frank Omiyale shifted from the right side to the left. If that's where Williams remains, he effectively becomes a guard drafted in Round 1. You know the type of players who've been worthy of that? Guys like Alan Faneca, Steve Hutchinson and Logan Mankins. Dollar to a doughnut says Williams never will be mentioned with that company again. It's a good thing the Bears have another NFC punching bag on their itinerary this weekend. The Seahawks are a bad team and the Bears will get an even firmer grip on the North title when they jump to 5-1 Sunday. Meanwhile, the Packers continue to trot out replacements for their offensive stars, and the Vikings are trying to overcome Brett Favre on the field as much as off it. Remember that lucky horseshoe Dick Jauron had in pocket in 2001, when the Bears won 13 games before getting smoked by the Eagles in the playoffs? He loaned it to Smith this year. Enjoy the gift horse when it arrives, but it would be a good thing if Coach Smugly — almost a lock to return for the final year of his deal next season — doesn't count on it again. If you're going to pack up all of the football gear before hitting I-57, use it. Find out who's who. Week 6 is a little late on the draw. Chester Taylor needs to get a chance in short yardage! He is more shifty than power but has the knack of finding the crease.

"We want to be more forward. We want to be taking the line of scrimmage and having a more positive step towards the line of scrimmage. [We want] to try to eliminate any type of bucket step or drop step". I could not agree more with this statement from Tice. I want our OL to fire off the ball and move forward; not the backstepping we watched the last few seasons.
-
I could not agree more! How many games have we watched over the years (decades) this team play not to lose or worse yet, not have a chance offensively? No matter how the season turns out I am just elated knowing we will have a team that can put some points on the board or atleast they will be trying to force the issue on opposing defenses. I think we saw glimpses last season even though Cutler struggled with his transition to the new team early in the season and finished strong. I think this says alot about Cutler's makeup as a competitor and it will be fun to see what happens when you pair him with a great offensive mind in Martz. In my oppinion we have as good a chance as GB or MN to win the division now that we have a Modern NFL Offense and a DE like Peppers to help make Farve retire once and for all and Rodgers wish he was a back up again! Go Bears!
-
I noticed the exact same thing; the Bears have added some huge guys to the roster.
-
Congrats and what a great mother's day weekend gift!

To me this is why our constitution says to be eligble for the position of President of the USA you have to be atleast 35 years old and have relevant experience. I do not think Josh has enough nor has he prooved anything before he got the job. Let this be a lesson that we not repeat. Again, things could be a lot worse in Chicago. But if it were not for JMcD than Cutler probably would not be a Bear!
