Bears given permission to speak to Jason Licht Again
ParkerBear7 replied to GakMan23's topic in Bearstalk
Maybe Licht worked as the "TURK"; you know the guy that told the players that they are cut and collected their playbook! Bears can use someone like that! -
You forgot to mention TO is also a beast blocking for the running game..........
-
Great post and could not agree more. I have been screaming at the TV "utilize the mismatch Kellen can create". Its time to unleash the beast! Maybe if Tice goes to oakland they will just save money and not hire a GM or OC and just let Jay bring in talent on O and call his own plays.
-
If you would like to see Hester fumble more and no longer effective as a returner than sure put him at RB.
-
With Tice promotion to OC I's surprised there is not any chatter around bringing MOSS into the fold.
-
Why Do you think Brady Quinn would be any better than McCown? There has to be a better back up plan than a guy who could not be out Tebow.
-
Not sure if Norv Turner has been fired or not but how about Norv for OC? Maybe he could bring along V-Jax!
-
so long to the seven drop....sack! Say, hello to freedom for Jay to audible! Who will be the new OC?
-
In addition to what you said about the WR position; currently the Bears do not have a complete threat at WR on this team which is why this is an area of need. Knox is fast and can take the lid off the D but was not used to his strengths, he is not physical and does not attack the ball and is a inconsistent route runner. Hope he recovers from his injury but we need real threats here and now. Love Bennett but he gets hurt a lot but like his reliable hands and smart route running. Hester drops too many passes and its clear he is not a full time WR. When these are the only WR worth talking about on this team you know it is the weakest unit by far. We need to get Jay some real NFL play-making WR and get Kellen Davies more involved in the "O", this guy could be a beast if better utilized.

GreenGay is a perfect example of building smartly through the Draft. The Bears need to fire JA and go after someone in the Steelers or Packers type regime that knows how to handle drafting a developing talent. by the way... JEFF FISHER is available?

Why was GRAHAM on the Bench in favor of BOWMAN against Denver? I think Tim Jennings is an excellent tackler but has average cover skills which is better than Bowman (inconsistent tackler and poor coverage). I wish GRAHAM was on the field more but I sure the coaches know more than us.

The coaching is definitely to Blame for not scheming around players strengths. Lovie et ol is constantly putting guys in positions that do not take full advantage of there overall strengths. FOR EXAMPLE: Johnny Knox is a Willie Gault (from what I remember) type guy with very good speed but does not have the physicality to be a slot or possession WR. Knox just does not attack the ball in the air and will never be that type of player. He needs to be used to stretch the field PERIOD which helps keep a DEF honest. OFFENSIVE LINE: Self explanatory: we have a RT playing LT, another RG Playing Center, a Center Playing RG, and a RG playing RT its no wonder this unit has struggled. HESTER: Hall of Fame KR/PR starting at WR K Davis: could be a redzone beast and reliable critical possession target but often used as additional protection and rarely does Martz take advantage of the potential mismatch his size could present. FB: actually glad to have one this year. COVER POO: only prevented a win in DENVER! Very tired of this style where year in and year out the safeties are late covering when a CB fails to jam and allows the WR a clean release only to see the opposing QB make an easy lob pass TD. Back to OFFENSE: sometimes simple is better. I was at first excited to have Martz but now realize his O much like Lovies D are not compatible with todays schemes. To me its apparent that a backup in the system for a couple years can't run the O than maybe its time to find a new scheme that fits the personnel on the current team. Just look what being a little creative and flexible could allow:Denver's Mike McCoy seems to be getting more than expected out of Tebow mainly due to adjusting the play calling to what the players can actually do well.

Yeah, what if JA would have been proactive and went OL instead of Baxuin and Gilbert maybe this would not be among the worst units in all of football.
-
Melton is among league leaders in sacks from the DT position! I don't know why he is not on the field more along with Paea? http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?sea...;qualified=true

I do that deal again! Cutty is the real deal! Now lets get him some WR and protection.

http://www.1043thefan.com/Channels/trainin...aspx?ID=1585660 Pretty right on in my opinion. These guys are stupid but they definitely understand who is responsible for the Broncos win and his name is not TEBOW. http://www.1043thefan.com/VideoChannel/tra...px?PostID=44894

What about going a different direction and look and see if someone on the Texans could be had as they seem to have an explosive offensive year after year?

BB, I hope you had a good experience visiting Denver obviously not including the outcome of the game. I am still mad about that. Since I feel like I convinced you months ago that Denver is relatively mild during the winter I sure am relieved that the weather was great for the game. I was worried earlier in the week as there was a brief cold spell with temps in the low teens. My buddy from Chicago came out and we had a great time, except the last 5 minutes. ParkerBear

Because Rodgers' WR's don't fall down and let their QB get injured while chasing down a potential pick-6!
-
same here in Denver, but I have the NFL ticket on directv and even though it was blacked out I have been able to watch the beginning until the local network began showing the Bears game.

Personally, I like them and don't understand the NFL's uniform policy - kinda of a stupid rule in my opinion. Who cares what color a guys shoes are as long as they are in the team's colors. Years back Peyton Manning was going to be fined for wearing black high-top cleats to honor Johnny Unitas and the NFL was going to fine him as well.

Toeaina looked very sluggish tonight and not much impact - why did he start over the DT's available?
-
Another point on Louis: He plays with chip and may be by far the Bears most physical OL. I was watching pile on the Eagles LB and Lineman to finish off plays with an exclamation point. Hope his play can rub off on Webb, who also played well tonight. With the way LL has been playing do the Bears want to mess with the chemistry?
