  1. Sounds like a sound approach -- especially since a WR really won't contribute much this season. I would add to the wish list Franklin & Hubbard in the 5th & another RB Thomas Brown in 5th or 6th if they are not there. I really think Benson is done.
  2. Forte should wear 28 or 29; but if they give hime 32 it would be excellent way to flush the CB Turd out of the league!!
  3. Let's face it Benson is probably done and Forte looks like a real good prospect and it fills our 2nd biggest need.
  4. Also very relieved that this pick was not Henne, happy to see a big strong RB!
  5. Would love the Bears to trade up for Mendenhall!
  6. So what grades should each team (GM) receive based on the results of our 2 round mock draft? maybe this could be a poll where we all can vote for each team (A, B, C, D, F etc)? i.e. Denver Broncos A -- 30% B -- 25% C -- 12% D -- 15%
  7. I would take the 2 first round pick and let CJ go! Washington is really no better than Cincy, at least not for a long time.
  8. I agree with OT, RB, and then QB or WR either order then OG & FB best player available. We are going to need to have a great Oline and a back that can move the chains to have any chance to win this year. WR from this draft will probably not make an immediate impact where as OL and RB should compete for time right away.
  9. BearSox -- I agree with your logic and reasoning and think it is creative and a well thought out senario. We will have to wait and see!
  10. Thanks for the positve feedback. I am not sure that you saw the earlier post but I did trade Travis Henry + the Broncos second round pick to Cincy for Chad Johnson 85! My original plan to move up to the 7th overall was to take DE Gohlston but ht e jets beat me to that pick and that is when I had to get someone who fit a need and warranted that high of a pick, which is why I selected RB - Mendenhall knowing that i could get a DL line help later on.
  11. Kevin, Aurelios' closed in Parker and Granelli's is there now in the same place. I have been there 3 times and have only ordered the thin crust and it is really good (better than Aurelios and I recently had wyman's 5 thin crust and I did not think it was that good. So it is my personal rep on the line when claiming best real Chicago Pizza in Colorado. Hope to see you there, Joel
  12. With the 50th pick overall the Arizona Cardinals Select Lawrence Jackson DE USC The Redskins are is now on the Clock!
  13. Since the bears chose OT - Clady in the first there are a few intringuing players available: WR: Eddie Royal, Manningham, Earl Bennett, Will Franklin RB: Chris Johnson, Forte, Smith S: Reggie Smith DT: Dre Moore, Pat Sims, Trevor Laws OG: Roy Schuening, Eric Young Tennessee, Kerry Brown I would stay on the Offensive side of the ball and draft: RB: Chris Johnson (home run threat and good receiver)
  14. I am hosting a small gathering of Bears fans in Parker, CO to watch the NFL Draft 1pm 4/26 at Granelli'sPizza 10971 S Parker Rd Parker, CO 80134 (303) 805-4744 Best Chicago Pizza in Colorado! See you There! Joel
  15. I would go with Barrett but admit I have seen neither play.
  16. The Broncos indeed have many holes to fill but so far the strategy has been doing the opposite that Chicago does (draft a great D & no O) so atleast they will hopefully be able to score some points and make their young QB not loose his confidence by having some offensive play makers to lean on. anyway seriously the Broncos still have some picks to work with to fill OL, DB, S, DL: Denver Broncos Positions Of Need:WR,OL,DL,CB Needs Analysis: The Broncos spent the majority of their picks on the defensive line last year, and that still is a concern for the team. The team ranked 30th against the run last year. The offensive line could use a boost, particularly at left tackle. Receiver concerns became a bigger priority after Brandon Marshall suffered a freak injury. Pick Player Pos Ht Wt College Round 1, Pick 12 (12) + pick 108 traded to NE for rd 1, pick 7 Rashard Mendenhall RB Round 2, Pick 11 (42) + Travis Henry traded to CIN for Chad Johnson -- WR Round 4, Pick 9 (108) traded to NE for rd 1, pick 7 ---------------------------- Round 4, Pick 20 (119) (From Redskins) Round 5, Pick 4 (139) (From Raiders) Round 5, Pick 13 (148) Round 6, Pick 17 (183) (From Texans) Round 7, Pick 13 (220) Round 7, Pick 20 (227) (From Buccaneers)
  17. QUOTE (ParkerBear7 @ Apr 13 2008, 11:51 PM) The Broncos are offering 1st rd 2009 + RB Travis Henry for CJ --- let me know? Counter offer: 2nd and Travis Henry I accept: Done Deal! you need to have the Balta (Admin's) post this trade. --ParkerBear7
  18. I think Benson is on the hot seat and will be the first one gone as long as whichever back we draft comes in and lights it up in camp. I hope JA will swallow his pride and move on for the sake of making this team better. You can not underestimate the value AP brings to the team and I personally like what wolfe brings as a change of pace back. Forte, Smith, Thomas Brown, Choice and a few others could probably step in and out perform Benson and justify the cut.
  19. The Broncos are offering 1st rd 2009 + RB Travis Henry for CJ --- let me know?
  20. I would be very pleased if this is how the draft went for the Bears mainly because all these players have good value when selected and infuse talent where the team needs it most!
  21. The problems with the Bears is OFFENSE -- OL, WR, and RB! QB is not as an immediate need as most people think. The Bears have shown the ability to win with both these guys at QB. The BIG problem is that there is no protection or enough playmakers for either to get the ball too! I would also prefer to take a LT or Brandon Alberts inan RD 1 if avaiable d then a RB, WR, OG, QB in rounds 2-5 respectfully. But I can see the Bears bungling this senario though. I would only take Brohm or Flacco in RD 2 if available but all other QBs not until rounds 4-7 and would have no problem with Colt, Dixon, Johnson on the second day.
  22. Jason: You certainly are entitled to have your opinion but that does not make you necessarily right or this selection horid unless RM turns out to be CB. The Broncos have a lot of needs on OFF and DEF and while Sedrick Ellis is a good prospect; he is not flawless and there is good DT depth available later in the draft and that is why I could not pass on a stud RB like Mendenhall (who should also reward the Broncos for the risk of moving up and losing a 4th rd pick). You can say what you want about the Broncos having Henry (durability and off the field issues), Bell and Young who also were injured last year are nice role players but nothing special. I could not take a WR that high at least with this years talent pool and there are offensive lineman that the broncos like that will be available later. Every year there are a few radically twist to the draft that will often raise a few eye brows but lets see how the rest of the draft unfolds before you bang to hard on the 1st round pick.
