  1. I know our running game was owning, but we can't run on 3rd and 5+ so many times. I was having 2005 QB on a leash flashbacks. When they actually let Kyle throw on crucial plays, he did a nice job and I want to see more of that in the future. I want to see if he can do what he did on those plays consistantly. As of now, I'm not sure he can win a game in which our running game can only sqeak out 65-80 yards. Also, even though it worked, I HATE THE FB DIVE! The only time I want the ball in Mckie's hands is a checkdown in the flats or a fumble recovery. Speaking of fumbles, has Kreutz been the problem this whole time? In closing, I CANNOT WAIT to see Tillman shutdown Muhammad next week. I hope M. Brown makes Moose get alligator arms and the clip gets played more than the Todd Stinkston clip.
  2. For the record, I agree on Benson, Faneca and Burress but I would have been scared to pull the trigger on Brees that year because of his injury the year before. I was undecided on Turner because although I thought he looked good, it was almost always in garbage time or when the defense was tired and he was fresh. Even though both you and I feel those would have been "hits" if we ran the team, I'm sure we've both had our share of "misses" as well.
  3. Weren't you a Benson fan as well? The truth is, we've all been right about some guys and wrong about others. I suspect our hit and miss percentages are no better (and possibly worse) than the average NFL GM.
  4. DO IT NOWWWWW. Word in Miami is that Ronnie Brown has been looking real good lately and Wes Welker > Lee Evans because of the guy throwing to them. Not to mention you already have Brady so that's double points. I would also look into getting Ray Rice or Jerious Norwood if possible. Also, do you really want Minnesota? I NEVER draft any players from the NFC North and if a player on my team plays the Bears, he gets benched (I benched LT week one last year).
  5. I remember many people on this board wanting to draft him.
  6. I also read that he showed up to camp overweight and got completely outplayed. I rather go for Willie Anderson who the Bengals cut.
  7. Yeah, nevermind that we had the 2nd highest scoring offense in the league that year. We were 8th in passing TDs and 14th in passing yards per game. That may not WOW anyone, but to say it had nothing to do with getting us to the Superbowl just shows bias. Our passing game was just good enough to open up the running game, teams had to respect that long ball, even from bad Rex.
  8. As soon as I saw the question, I had the same response: NO FIRST TIME HEAD/OFFENSIVE COACHESOR COORDINATORS for our team. I'd rather have a retread. Cowher would be top choice of course.
  9. The game is being played nationally on Fox at 8PM eastern
  10. Hey Wesson, not sure if you've seen the other posts on the subject, or even if it's viable for you, but Stoogetv.com will be streaming every Bears game live over the internet. However, they are not allowed to archive the games so if you can't catch them in real time you'll be out of luck.
  11. Am I the only one who thinks Bennet has sucked these past 2 games? He looked good in the TC videos so I was excited to see him play on TV and so far I'm disappointed. Some may point at the kick return but I think that was more of a fluke than anything else, coverage was horrible that play. He didn't look quick at all, I was shocked he scored (happy of course).
  12. He seemed pretty good to me. A few plays he gave Rex just enough time to get the ball off and that's all we really need him to do. Someone who's pass blocking really disappointed me was Olsen. He was getting owned. I know he's not supposed to be a great blocker but he was really stinking it up in that department.
  13. Watching the replay on NFLN this morning, I noticed how well rounded Forte's game really is right now as a rookie. I love how he always falls forward when running but what I really liked was his pass blocking. I only saw him whiff on a block once, the rest of the time he was picking up blitzes like a pro. My favorite Forte play though was on the interception. He never gave up on the play and ran down their corner and tackled him hard. Our defense came out and held them to a FG instead of what looked to be an easy defensive TD. I also want to recognize Idonije who continues to play his ass off despite not getting too many accolades in the press.
  14. Oh man I love this, check 2:13 into the video: Moose vs Dawkins Surprise, surprise....dropped.

    john Beck?

The PR from cutting Beck would not be bad because Parcells is considered a football god by many people and if he says it's a good idea to let Beck go now, most people will believe him. Parcells wasn't here last year so there will be no blowback for previous regimes' bad draft picks.
  16. The last count I saw was 17 ints, 7 fumbles from Kyle, 7 ints and 6 fumbles for Rex for the first 20 days of camp. There seemed to be a consensus on these numbers on the main board but if you really want to count the totals yourselves, you can go on youtube and listen to Roy's commentary for each day of camp. He had video of every turnover for both QBs but the video needs to be taken down after 24 hours per league rules so there's only video of days 21 and 22 right now. I've seen every video and Kyle definately had more turnovers although I never counted exactly how many for each.

    john Beck?

Yeah and he threw to lloyd who I couldn't tell by the video if he dropped it or if it was knocked away. It looks like hecan throw as far as Kyle, I say give him a shot!
  18. Well, I'm not sure why but there has been a pro Orton bias in the media despite his many miscues in camp. At first I thought maybe the videos I had been watching were being edited by an undercover Rex fanboy. Then I started seeing posts on many Bears boards from camp goers who had been noticing this same bias. According to several fans who have been at camp and keeping track, Kyle has had over twice as many interceptions as Rex and one more fumble, not to mention Kyle's accuracy problems past 5 yards. Some articles in the papers even seemed to contradict themselves saying Kyle had a good practice and at the bottom give numbers like 2 ints, a fumble, and 5 of 12 in the 11 on 11 drills. The they'd say Rex was ok and follow it up with better numbers. I watch the comcast chicago tribune live show every afternoon and some guys don't even seem to be trying to hide their biases. I thought journalists were supposed to be neutral? I was all for the competition but from everything I've seen and read SO FAR, I think Rex should get the start for the season. If he fails, give Orton 2 games. After that, put me on the Hanie bandwagon. I only want to give Orton 2 games because he has never shown much upside, imo.
  19. I saw a player interview on comcast (forgot who) and he implied it was something to do with his family but that Pnut would battle through it.
  20. I debated getting it this year because the Bears are terrible and it's the only team I use. Also Favre on the cover makes me sick. I'm a sucker for the game and got it anyway, it's great.
  21. A guy at the main board who says he's been counting the turnovers reported has them at: Kyle - 16 ints, 6 fumbles Rex - 7 ints, 5 fumbles
