  1. the nfl doesn't want good officiating. if they did this BILLION DOLLAR corporation would hire permanent officials who are held accountable for their jobs. the nfl also makes the rules so purposely ambiguous that any way you call a play is the correct call. what does this mean?? it means that the referee's control a game and decide who wins and who loses. not the players. the penalties at crucial times in a game decide this. it also it appears to me that this process has to be involved with gambling. the refs can shave points or shape a game to fit whatever spreads they so choose. some calls are so bad i can't imagine it to be anything else unless it's gross incompetence or they choose the team of their liking as a biased fan. if any of this really is the case why are they not fired? the whole league should be investigated. this is not all star wrestling (at least not yet?). i also think you can add to this that the nfl makes more money on certain venues. this way they can control the money coming into their coffers if the high profile teams that garner the bigger audiences makes it to the playoffs/superbowl.
  2. remember martz calling all of those 7 step drops? with the offensive line being so bad the qb had absolutely no time to take the drop and set. in fact he didn't even have 2 or 3 steps before defensive linemen from every direction were chasing him down. orlando pace? that was their big acquisition? he was used up and injured when we got him. martz's greatest show on turf was laughable in chicago. martz was also toast by the time he got here. the relief valve for cutler getting the ball out in a hurry was olsen who cutler had a great rapport.
  3. i don't agree that cutler's heart wasn't in it and as far as being a winner, brady or any other HOF qb, would have failed here. It was ridiculous coaching all around, especially with martz getting rid of a pro bowl TE that was cutlers biggest weapon. add to that from the moment he got here the offensive line was one of the worst i have ever seen. he was running for his life at the snap of the ball. the sacks were astronomical. he got a bad rap from the media because he didn't play ball with them. cutler wasn't as good as the hype when we got him but he certainly could have been a very good qb if we would have had a decent team surrounding him. he was a tough qb who took a punishing beating here, even worse than carr in texas.
  4. from my observation over the decades it is usually the 2nd year that they struggle the most. the assignments by the offense are more complex because he has past the rookie stage. there is game film on them and it takes time for the player to adjust to new schemes against him. by year 3 the dust should be settling and if he is a good player it will show and grow from that point on. not that worried yet.
  5. didn't know that. in that case bring in a wide body lineman either side of the ball (like fridge) to smash into the line at the point of attack and get the push. that is just plain simple. if your OL with another lineman can't move the defense back one freaking yard we are pathetic.
  6. riddle me this.... 1st and goal at the five or less, why are we NOT seeing our FB lead blocking for our best short yardage back? straight ahead hit the line and push forward. why in the H E double hockey sticks are we moving lateral runs in a condensed field? a few power runs and it opens up play action at the goal line. this is what fullbacks do and blasingame is a pretty good FB yet we never see him. that is BAD coaching and play calling.
  7. look at the video about the O line in the cause for concern post by stinger. the shelton pancake was misleading. he was backing up and tripped over jenkins outstretched leg. i am not willing to change this position yet. let's wait until after another game or two.
  8. ditka was mediocre coach at BEST. anyone could have won a superbowl with that team. also buddy ryan as a DC was what brought the ring. ryan was a terrible HC but a fantastic DC. when he was gone ditka's ego and greed got in the way of winning. you are right, one SB with that team was a complete joke. between ditka and mikey they blew the dynasty created by finks and vanesi (sp?).
  9. i keep the fullback Blasingame. he makes a big difference on redzone/short yardage running plays especially as the lead blocker. he also is a good pass blocker. for me he makes the cut.
  10. NEXTGEN Stars NFL Draft Player Profiles 2024 - Patric Tursic "Summary: one of the drafts biggest wild cards, a boom-or-bust prospect with tantalizing traits but very little track record. His elite physical tools, from his explosive first step to his rare length, give him as high a ceiling as any pass rusher in the class. With more seasoning and added bulk, he could quickly develop into a dynamic impact player off the edge. Scouts Notebook: "I'm telling you, this kid Booker is going to shoot up the boards. He's got the freakish tools you can't teach and he's already showing the technique. Sky's the limit."
  11. didn't the bears have two picks in the 4th next year? that said, this kid could really become a special player. he is FAST and hits like butkus. he could be the steal of the draft (or bust LOL). the reason he dropped is his lack of playing time in minny. when he transfered to kansas it is pretty impressive.
  12. i agree. we got a starting quality player in the 4th. normally i wouldn't pick one that high but we are getting to the point where our roster is full and a pick this far down ends up on the practice squad or cut especially if they have an eye on some future cuts/free agents. a punter is a really important part of your defense per se'. if this guy kills it it was worth it this particular year. next year we are fat with picks so something has to give for our roster then.
  13. NextGen Stars: "Fashanu projects as a top-10 pick with the potential to be the first OT off the board. His polished pass protection skills, athletic upside, and room for growth in the run game make make him an enticing prospect for teams seeking a long term solution at the LOT position." From the Scouts Notebook: "Fashanu is something special. He's got the feet of a dancer and the punch of a heavyweight boxer. I haven't seen a tackle prospect this polished in pass protection since Joe Thomas. He's gonna anchor someone's blind side for the next 15 years and make a whole bunch of Pro Bowls along the way. If I'm picking in the top 10 I'm sprinting to the podium to turn in the card with his name on it." NextGen Stars NFL DRAFT PLAYER PROFILES 2024 - Patrick Tursic this is a very good pre draft source of information on the players in the draft. if you don't have it it is worth the price. No photo's and in soft cover book form.
  14. my hope is we take an OLT at that spot or even trade up a bit to get one. i would rather fill this hard to acquire position than any receiver. the ONLY position that could be as valuable is a DE if one looks like a perennial pro bowler and not just a very good prospect.
  15. what about next years 2nd and 4th? or next years 2nd and 3rd?
  16. or maybe like in 1995 trading trace armstrong a 7-10 sack defensive end for a 2nd and 3rd round pick to miami and then drafting tod saurkraut a freaking punter in the 2nd round and a non descript guard in the 3rd? brilliant, trade a producing defensive end for a punter and nothing guard. only mikey the genius gm could come up with that.
  17. paranoia strikes deep. into your life it will creep. did i accuse you of producing ANY video? am i 'riding your ass' for anything other than the inane comments you made? as far as facts? what are the actual facts in conjunction within the context of it being used? that is how innuendo's are misinterpreted into basic fact/lies.
  18. i really don't mind a debate on skills and even attitude but the stuff that is being put out is beyond the pale. i am not frothing at the mouth for williams. i am hoping he is all that and a bag of chips but if not so be it and i hope we draft the one who is. i haven't done the film study or in depth analysis but this type of attack media is for fools who assume anything posted online has credence without in-depth review or research. anybody can say anything. it's up to you as an individual, if the poster doesn't do the work to back up their claims with FACTS, to shit-can the nonsense and lies.
  19. lies? innuendoes? rumours? are you taking some half baked video that was pieced together by an idiot as gospel and true? even if it has a grain of truth so what??
  20. that's what we all hope. think back on the didka days. it was money first, ego second and then dignity and respect a far third. as far as williams? if they pick him then let's see how he represents our franchise before we determine whether or not we should draft him because of mostly silly, non-dated or in context verbal diarrhea. if he's a psycho and won't play here i am sure someone in our organization will figure that out before april.
  21. wow, how soon they forget. or maybe rogers not even bothering to find out if his mother and brother burned to death in a CAL fire? or helping them out when their house burned down? i seem to remember something to that effect. am i wrong? at least this kid seems to care and isn't a sociopath like rogers. i personally don't give a shite what anyone says if we have a qb that can put us in the winners circle.
  22. about THAT crap? it's truly laughable that any credible source of nfl information or even dumb fans would post nonsense like that.
  23. i admit that i couldn't watch any more than about 3/4 of the first video because this is the biggest load of CRAP and waste of time i have seen pre-draft in a long, long, time. so freaking what that he paints his nails with insults to opposing teams? who CARES if he gets in that imbecile on the field fans face? he didn't punch him at least which is seriously what i would have thought long an hard about myself. who CARES if he is looking to squeeze every penny out of a contract he can get? wouldn't you?? who CARES what his father has said or NOT said to the press? who CARES if he has a preference where he wants to play. they ALL do and some like elway and manning push it. poles will certainly know before draft day. who really gives a SHITE if he gets emotional with his mother in the stands? this moron commentator is whining about that?? who CARES if he didn't shake hands with the opponents or whatever post game? ANYBODY remember buddy ryan? who CARES if he is leary about chicago as a place where QB's go to die? everyone on this board has said the same at one time or another. EDIT: he didn't ignore allen for keerists sake. he shook his hand didn't he? is there some set of rules of when he should do it? if that's the BEST crap they can throw at the wall to hope it sticks it's pretty pathetic. whoever that hack is that narrated that video must be getting paid by washington or mayes agent.
  24. i'm not so sure. with all the qb's going in the top ten this is pushing down other first class draft picks down like DE or even LOT. if you get a chance to draft a blue chip player at one of those two positions you HAVE to take it. it could be years before we are drafting in the top 10 again and those premium players are the top of the list (other than qb) for building your franchise long term. you can pick up good+ receivers in future drafts in the middle of the first or even in free agency. you will rarely find premium LOT's or DE's in those slots. also we have seen what difference a good+ defensive end can do for our defense and overall chances to get to a superbowl. that means if sweat was injured there is nobody to fill in his shoes and it's very doubtful we would find that kind of player from a team like washington again. you would way overpay to replace him in free agency or a trade. the same could be said of LOT. if there is a premium blue chipper to replace our LOT that gives you a lot of trading power to other teams. if either of those type of players are there at 9 and they rate out that high i take them without any doubt.
  25. come on dude, there are kids reading this site. tone it down some.
