I feel about this game similar to how I did when they went to LA in 2018 and ended up winning in spectacular fashion. The word to describe it; ‘apprehensive’. I know they are capable is winning but will they? The D is definitely trending up (see pic below). But the offense and specifically the play calling is a huge question mark for me. If Foles gets killed behind the line it’s nearly all over. If the running game doesn’t get established, at some point, they become very one-dimensional (Foles is nowhere near as mobile as Mitch) and Defenses like the Rams will focus on that to disrupt it. All that being said I’m predicting a big game by the D. Jackson (or someone else on D) will finally get a pick six counted and a few other TOs will occur along the way. I get this feeling that Quinn is due a big game. Is this the one?

Seems we aren’t the only ones noticing this (Adam Hoge : Adam...any relation?). https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/hoge-bears-defense-playing-nfls-rules-keeps-getting-punished?fbclid=IwAR3iMstUa7LeIK-iSlxWj3n0K3vsng2AsMWBbmaSe_B59jAiunCeeLM6fZY

Corradelle has been doing this a few times this year. Tried suggesting Bridgewater, Stefon Diggs and even Brady think about joining the Bears during the beginning of the season. And more recently unsuccessfully lobbied for "Snacks" Harrison. Encouraging that he's at least trying. I'm curious why aren't we seeing players like Bars, Mustipher and Spriggs step up? I can only guess Spriggs' more recent injury history is an issue but he has played both Guard and Tackle earlier in his career. Bars and Mustipher were bright prospects on the PS last year....

Aw c’mon Leno isn’t all bad, between he and Massie, Leno’s usually the first one there to pick up Foles after he gets knocked down.

He’s still a bit slow on crossing routes but you’re right, he’s meeting running backs coming out of the backfield with force. As is Gibson by the way...as a true SS should. Im not sure why they brought Te’o on either before they considered a stout NT. Still think they need to fix that for the run D.

Wasn’t directed at you, just in general between here and other sites that talk Bears football. I’m part of a ‘smack-talk’ group on Twitter too that was sure Pagano was the biggest problem on the D. As BF2000 and Adam have said above and you, I think a lot of what we’re seeing from the D right now is Pagano getting more creative and the players getting more time to gel. The lack of a true training camp and PS hurt a lot for what is normally a time to work out any wrinkles. I will say this; what Pagano is making up in creativity Nagy continues to remain stagnant. At this point I think Foles is better at running the offense than Nagy is calling it.

Bears sign LB Monti Te’o to the Practice Squad. Does this spell the end for Danny T? Te’o was a pretty decent LB in college. Had speed like Smith... https://www.chicagobears.com/news/roster-moves-bears-sign-manti-te-o-to-practice-squad

I saw that too. If memory serves he had two receivers along the same line. One that was deep (dont remember who) and covered and one closer in, I believe was Kent who was uncovered. Foles looks to have been trying to either hit the deep receiver or throw it out but as you said didn’t have enough mustard to get it there. I think he could have hit the underneath receiver but want to say he didn’t see him. Foles has had a fair number of throws where he can’t get his feet set and still had just enough to get it to where it needs to be. Something to be said about his ‘balls’ while in the pocket. He’s touched (not necessarily hit) by a defender in just about every passing down.

I read somewhere that the rotational players; like Edwards, Urban, Mingo etc are responsible for 35% of the teams sacks so far. That’s pretty damn impressive. If you have some time to kill, check out these guys breaking down key plays. Briggs, Kreutz and Brown make for some entertaining ‘blue collar’ analytics.

Lol...you went from 34-9 to 33-9 in one post. Even your confidence is waning. Lol Not all that long ago, right around the time the team lost to the Colts 19-11 many were calling for Paganos head and sure we were done for the year. Now suddenly our defense is “elite” and it would appear we have a legit team; even with the small errors on offense being made. Of which I trust Foles (not so much Nagy) will be able to clean up.

Put it side by side with the hit last week in TB to see if there were any differences; there weren’t.
-
Absolutely all this! and couldn’t help notice Brady run across the field at the end of the game to shake hands with Rodgers. Where last week he scurried to the locker room and avoided Foles after losing. Who by the way is 2-0 against him. Lololololol!!!

Is this the same TB team the Bears played a little over a week ago? In TB? And this is with GB taking their bye...yikes. Think you’re right Adam, GB is in for a long season.
-
Looks like Rodgers can be pressured into huge mistakes in watching the first half against TB. That bodes well for our team. The more I think about this, and considering Nagy might be the problem for the offense progress; would you think Trubiksy would be worth keeping around as a #2 for next year? Maybe still draft a development Qb... just sayin.

I think it was Connor who said it earlier. Nagy is a good head coach when it comes to rallying the team and getting them to play together. But on game day he should NOT be calling plays. I don’t have a lot of faith in Lazor either but I at least think Foles can run the team from the field. Nagy seems to be the stick in the wheel when it comes to running the offense.
