    What now?

    He's not worth anything anymore.

    What now?

It's never a good to tank for draft position. I hate that thought with a passion. Also, we don't have anyone new to develop that hasn't already played. Honestly, at this point, I would trade Marshall before the deadline to gain players/picks for the future. I have a sneaking suspicion that he is going to be a major pain in the ass as a free agent. This team lacks talent on every level of the defense, still have issues with OL and have no speed on offense. I would hate to lose him, but we may gain through that loss.
  3. What ails our offense is we have no speed anywhere.
  4. Even Earl Bennett. How many 3rd down conversions did he convert?
  5. He must have killed them good, cause none of them are doing much these days. (Lovie excluded)
  6. I'm happy if there was some extra curricular stuff going on in the locker room. Sometimes the Zen approach to coaching can lead a team into complacency while true accountability is being earned. I'm for giving Trestman one more year. I've seen enough of the DC and ST. I'd love to see a former HC come in as a coordinator to assist Trestman with his duties. Or at least be a sound advisor.
  7. It's Cutler's fault! Go Bears!

    SMC is back

Yeah, I wanted Chandler Jones. I think SMC will be ok if he can stay healthy though.

    Last 2 drafts

Draft one had a heavy Lovie influence. It's on Emery's clock, but...

At least you are consistent my friend...

Somewhere in Bearsland Terra Tor is cursing at the top of his lungs, lol. I'm glad too. I think he was making good progress.
  12. Just so we're clear, that is not my opinion at all. I'm not saying we will be good will Joe D, just will get better.(poor would be a great inprovement) I also don't think bringing in ST talent has been a huge priority.(not like JA) Agree with the rest of your post. And Joe D would have been fired last year were it up to me.
  13. I agree with most here that special teams is in desparate need of improvement. They know this, but are having a hard time because the bodies they were counting on to progress are now thrust into starting roles due to injuries, thus giving them more pressing things to learn and practice. This sort of thing happens with the turnover we have experienced the last couple of years. My expectation is that they continue to get better as the seasons goes on and make a huge jump next year, as we continue to purge older vets and add youth and speed to both sides of the ball.
  14. A f'n men! Damn, I get tired of the bashing when we lose. We have 31 other teams with professional athletes trying to beat us every week and there fans are saying the same thing. Trust this; Jay Cutler is twice the football player and man that Jeff George is. George is undoubtedly the biggest gutless pussy I've ever seen put on a uniform. They should never be spoken in the same breath again.
  15. I actually was not suggesting he was overpaid. It was a simple assessment that "Joe fan" might come up with. Think of this way. If Cutler gave the team a nice discount and signed for 15 mil a year, would people be debating his worth? Disagree that Hester was on the decline. Totally agree on Briggs. I got pounded last year for saying he looked slow.
  16. Exactly. Since Cutler is being paid as elite, we expect it. There were players we could have signed/kept if it were not for his contract. If he's paid 15 million a year Hester could still be returning kicks on his way to the HOF. It's not Jays fault he got paid, but he has to bear the weight.
  17. Mistakes, playing not to lose, and injured players tightening/fatiguing are my big 3.
  18. Brittle as rice paper, that guy is...
  19. That is sort of a bandwagon statement. I hope you are ashamed enough NOT to buy one if he wins the Superbowl...
  20. I'm still with you brother!
  21. Something most fans don't understand is how talented NFL players are. The difference in the level of NFL players is very little. The only true thing they have to differentiate themselves comes from between their ears. That's where their drive, preparation and determination comes from. That's hard to get from a team in transition. As they earn more trust with each other, they'll get better.
