  1. Damn, you are a perpetually negative f'er aren't you? Lol...
  2. Wow, that's a lot of draft choices added in the last 4 years.(21 picks) Add that to the studs they already had on the roster and they should have been a juggernaut. I'm really interested to see what SF looks like after losing a bunch of talent, because it looks like they should have replacements in the pipeline. Also interested to see how many of them stuck and are with other teams.

It depends on whether they think Winston is a fit. On the BPA front, nobody said draft a QB every pick if they are BPA etc. The premise is to not let needs dictate your draft. Proactive vs reactive is all it is.
  4. There absolutely nothing more effective for a defense than to keep them off the field...:-)
  5. That's an intersting take. I know from my own standpoint, we never talked about concussions in sports. We just called it getting your bell rung. I remember the trainer popping amonia packets to revive guys and having a ringing in my ears after a good hit. I'm approaching 50 now and sometimes feel as if I'm a little more foggy than I should be. Other times, sharp as always. The more I read and learn, the less I like. The study that bothered me most was the one published in the last year. They performed baseline studies on HS football players before they started the season and all of the kids brain functions lowered as the season progressed. That being said, the brain recovers and the kids functions returned to baseline shortly after the season ended. Scary stuff though, as I have a nine year old that really loves to play.

Remember when people bitched their ass off because we drafted CB last year? Now you want another one. String him up! Lol, if he's a good one, I'm for it!

Nobody does that. When BPA is discussed, it's based on a teams draft board. If there's no requirement, they won't be on the board...
  8. Fun stuff. I see WR, TE, CB, S, OL, DT and RB. (no specific order) If you look at Ratliff, Tillman and Allen, they will need replacements ready at a moments notice. Probably a year late on Allen. That's why I loved the Fuller pick when it happened(Tillman) See Forte as well.
  9. From a leadership perspective it's gone from WTF it's happening to I can't believe this is happening.(in a good way)
  10. Yep. If production were the only criteria in determining value, Marshall would have been worth a whole lot more. The rest of the league knew this. I hope it's addition by subtraction.
  11. If they think they have a stud at 7, I would stay. Otherwise, more picks the better.
  12. If trade Forte, I love it.
  13. I would like to see one drafted as well. Aside from Mcphee, every potential LB we have is either old, miscast or inexperienced. Plus there is a lot of talent at this position in the draft. Knowing that this is the havoc position in a 3-4 doesn't hurt either.

It feels good to be right once in awhile...
  15. Drafting is philosophical to me. Mine is to draft the best football player available. I do this because teams that draft for current needs tend to be cyclically behind the curve. My preference would be to draft proactively instead of reactively. It takes a year or two in most cases to develop players. It’s painful to think of waiting a few years to clean up your talent pool via the draft, but that’s how a strong nucleus is built. If you have an overly strong LB corps, don’t think that doesn’t carry over to other areas. You asked a question alluding to BPA being possibly redundant to a position you don’t need. I would argue the only time that really applies is when you have your franchise QB early in their career. You always need good players for the future. I would also counter that nothing is absolute and sometimes you need to deviate to do what is best. Again, that deviation may come with a future price, so I get right back to the plan. I do like using FA to fill glaring holes, because you are getting an NFL experienced player. But if we have too many to fill, so be it. Rookies are not generally going to help that anyway. This can be chicken v egg debate…
  16. Don't over think it. We have 6 picks to go BPA with. That's how the good teams do it. We gotta start somewhere. Let the GM and coach Magee the statement that all positions are subject to upgrade at all times...
  17. Best to know now. I'm not a huge Cutler fan, but I actually think he's gotten too much blame for lack of success. He is the best option going into this year, so here's to Jay!
  18. Polian has Rolle ranked along side Conte. I'm out...
  19. I would rather get a new tackle than move one of the best guards in the league to tackle. Garza can go to the bench and back up all three interior positions and extend his career.
  20. Pace worked for the guy who made the decision. We can't base much on his past.

    2 for 1

Mccourty had Revis taking care of one third of the field for him too. Plus guarding the number one WR.
  22. I would vomit if we get the first pick next year. All that aside, I love your picks!
