Totally disagree. He never made it to mediocre. The only value he ever had on D, was off the corner blitzing. And that was about 4 times a year. There's a reason D Manning is not on the team anymore. Lovie took him under his wing and failed. He is probably one of the most un-instinctive players ever to wear a Bears uni. I'll take Meriwether 10 times over him. Don't believe the fluff in the papers...

Those are the ones that take too long to be cut. Lol

Not knowing you, that is what I figured. Most would do the same my friend.

I think we need to determine Forte's value to our team. For one, I think it is immense. Also, there is nothing close to him on this team. He has been a work horse and model citizen. He, over Briggs, deserves to be paid handsomely. I'd take him over Gore in a heartbeat.

If you were in the middle of a binding contact and they depended on you for the success of their business and you used a lawyer to weasle out of the the deal... Yes, you are a turd. But, I highly doubt that is the case on all counts.

R.W. McQuarters. I still see him begging for a lateral, when he should have been blocking. Cost us a Td and potentially the game. Most selfish play I've ever seen. Now, I'm angry. Lol!

Think Forte gets 5 years 45 mil.

I'm more for leaving Garza at center for now. He has had the opportunity to play next to Olin for several years and is the undisputed leader of the OL at this point. Now, if an all pro guard is cut for cap reasons, I sign him and relegate Louis to the pine for another season. Also, so far Williams has been or best lineman.

I will lay money that he is brought in for a look. He would valuable insurance. Gohlston is worthless and Wooten is healing. If he can play 15 snaps a game, he can at least be a valuable run defender. Make the move JA!

Welcome back! Been wondering about you. You have missed some good debates.

Looking at the 3rd pre-season game, there are a few things I expect to see. 1) The defense may continue to play vanilla, but should show the intensity we have seen lacking. 2) Better run/pass ratio from the O. 55 pass, 45 run. 3) Red zone package should be in effect to build confidence from last week. 4) The OL built a little confidence last week. I can see the coaches testing them a little more this week to help them grow. May put our QB's in an uncomfortable spot. 5) Guys are getting ready to get cut. I expect some hard work on special teams, giving a far greater result. Year two of the Martz offense, we should see vast improvement from last year. If we don't see that in this game it's not a huge worry. Just a small red flag if we see glimpses. My expectation is to have a wire to wire victory, as the Titans are not really good right now.

Love Forte, but make that trade so fast they can't change their mind.
-
I can't put my finger on him. One minute he says all the right things, the next he is saying dumb stuff like, "I didn't have any drops in the game". If I'm a player trying to rebuild my career, I'm in shape coming into camp. His comments on conditioning amazed me too. Like, "you get into shape by going hard for 4 seconds and jogging back to the huddle". That's total BS. You learn that in middle school football. I'm rooting for him, but my optimism is wearing out.

Heard that too. Hear's the problem with that. Good OL is usually built on high draft choices practicing behind vets. We continually throw the unproven and inexperienced. I understand and age with the concept, but feel the investment is weak.

Tice ripped his ass in the media for the same thing I mentioned.

I don't find this type honesty refreshing or encouraging. This guy is starting his first NFL game at left tackle, against Merriman and he is not playing like it's a real game. These are the type of pussies that do not deserve an NFL check. Potential, check. Lazy, CHECK! Unmotivated, CHECK CHECK! If I were his coach I'd rip the C off his helmet in front of the team and immediately demote him. Absolute horseshit. Sorry for the rant...
-
I think the NFL will start cracking down on him strongly. He's gonna hurt someone.
-
Major Wright is gonna be a beast, but he plays with such reckless abandon. His body is always going to be hurt. I think this pick up is going to be huge. I only hope it offsets the loss of Olsen. Olsens field stretching ability often kept coverge honest. Davis will need to burn somebody early on to get that back. Solid pickup. Toub is easily the best coach on this team. Love this pick up. The staff was drooling over this kid when he was drafted. This may quietly be the best offseason move. Sorry, but Tice has not won me over. I simply dont trust the whole chain on the offensive side of the ball. I hope I'm wrong, because I want so badly for the O, especially OL, turn the corner. Still think we fall short of contending because of them.
-
Our OL is calling for Shoop to come back. LOL! I would almost keep 4 backs this year, cause as it looks, running we be a priority.
-
You can attribute that to immaturity. Plus, hes been quiet since hes left the lions. He's young enough to where his skills haven't eroded. Gotta give him a shot here before I lay judgement. Sometimes receivers aren't fits for the system they are brought into. Hes proven in this one.
-
I have no problem with Williams being the #1. Last time he played for Martz, he made the pro bowl. Besides Knox will probably be on the field for 70% of passing plays while isolated against weaker coverage. IMO - his big play ability doubles from last year. I like our top 4 recievers.
-
I'm excited about those two. If they can step up, our DL could be a force.

jerry angelo... village idiot or just criminally stupid?

Yes! But I think it will hold the team back from any potential greatness. I really hope I'm wrong. Arrogance makes me doubt it though.
