Oh, you know it. Pay the FA, but the untested draft pick? I just don't get how owners havn't put a cap on rookie salaries yet.
-
Adding quality players. who's next?
-
Something to cheer about! There's this years' first round pick for us. Hey, who needs the draft?
-
Got to agree. This is our draft--for players that have shown they can play. Now, get them JA.
-
Agree, agree, agree. TJ was great for us, but he wanted to be the only RB to get the rock. All those Jet Vets who ar lamenting his release, not one is a fellow RB. TJ hims and haws about money, even after he's paid. So, he was nice while here, but don't bring him back.
-
He must be one of the team's better athletes or they wouldn't shuffle him around so much. But he can't really perfect his game and show true professionalism if the staff keeps trying to solve problems due to their lack of foresight. Hey, if I were his agent I'd be crying for a hefty raise in his new contract.

Again, I'm really appreciative for the concern of all of you here. Fortunately for me and my family we had little damage to the house--a few broke things-and we are all safe and now have elctricity, gas and water. There still are many here, just around the block as a matter of fact, that do not have electricity yet. My work at the university has been suspended pending an evaluation of the infrastructure and the arrival of electricity there. Santiago is about 200 miles north of the epicenter and mostly very old buildings, many historical sites and the very newer ones--mostly lower income housing--suffered the most damage here. Down south, though, between the earthquake and the tsunami there is alot of devestation. This was my first "official" earthquake--larger than 7--and I don't care to experiene another. But Chile is a hotbed of quakes and we will probably have others before too long. Thank you all for your concern and I look forward to a more peaceful pursuit of rebuilding the Bears and "disussing" it with all of you. God bless. Mark

Where to begin?! Yes, my family and I are safe. shaken, both literally and figuratively. It was 8.0 on the Richter here in Santiago. Not fun and don't recommend it, especially at 3:34 am. There was so much movement, I'm surprised that our house held up. A few things fell from shelves, but, for us, no real damage. Two days without electricity, it just came on. Tomorrow I will check out what has happened on the other, older part of twon when I go to work. I think there is some real damage on that side. And down south, well that was 8.8 and with a terremoto afterward that caused more damage on the long coastline. Hey, I appreciate all your concern and believe me, I would have loved to have checked in sooner. Man, you just don't know about any of this disaster crap until you actually are part of it. I know a bit how those folks in New Orleans must have felt after the hurricain. Thanks again for thinking of us.

Damn, he's wearing my hat. Now what will I do for headgear?!

As Expected. Now everybody at Halas Hall has one of their ole buddies or two to keep the workplace comfy. Now, if this bunch could only put a winner on the field! -
Sweaty Teddy says bears won't go crazy in FA...

For sure. The absence of a CBA is going to determine how ownership does business. If there is a lockout, then nobody on the staff is going to be replaced. They'll just sit pat and wait it out. From ownership's standpoint, that is probably the smartest way to go. -

IMdO, I agree totally. The moves smack to me of complete $ related. The McKaskey's are getting ready for a lockout in 2011. Letting Lovie bring in his guys--again--for the staff and looking to limit spending for this season. I don't see any FA out there that could help us without breaking the bank. They're hoping to build from within and maybe, just maybe, sqeeze into the playoffs. Then they'll ride out 2011 and see what happens with a new CBA after everyone has seen the disaster of a lockout. I guess, from the owner's standpoint, that's a long term plan that is in thier best interest, but it sure as heck makes me feel screwed. -
A good arguement could be made that JA is on the way out. And If 2011 is a lockout, then my guess is they'd fire JA and let Lovie run the show. That would be further proof that the owners really are a cheap bunch that don't care about winning. It's just wait and see now. And God help the fans if Lovie is in charge of the whole cheebang!

Damn, and I thought our 90ยบ and me being in the pool most of the day was the life! Hey, enjoy what you got, huh?!
-
Yeah, and Marinelli was going to put a fire under the DL last season too. And we all know how that played out. We better bring in some help on OL or it's going to be bumpy to say the least.
-
I'm all for sitting pat with the WR and focusing on fixing the OL and DL. If we can imporve those two areas, and a big if, then we are going to excell.
-
I don't recall seeing that Marinellie actually said he didn't want the job. What he sadi was that he was not satisfied with the development of the DL and wanted to work more on them. Yes, it does seem like he was the safety net, but I don't see it as he didn't want to be DC. And he's got his assistant now coaching the DL. To me, it seems more an indictment of Lovie and JA in the DC search process than Marinelli's supposed aversion to being DC.
-
Sell written Nfo, and about friggin time we start realizing that our young WRs are our strength. No, I would not bring Holt in. Better to let Cutler develop more raport with the returning group and build for the future. Spend the $ on OL or DE.
-
Great news BearSox. Take advantage of these opportunitis. And yes, hard work does pay off--you can relax later! Have fun along the way, though.
-
Sounds like your glass is way more than "half-empty". Maybe, just maybe, Marinelli should have gone this route before jumping from DL coach with the Bucs to HC with the Kitties. And he's got his ol' bud Love in the next office to bounce ideas off of. And you know that Lovie ain't gonna be in Martz's office for long. Hell, perhaps they can get it right. I'm loading up on some Martz-Cutler flavor Kool Aid and hoping that the good ole boys can get something done with bailing wire on the D side of the ball this season. I'm just an old optimist who lives in the dream worl of the '85 Bears, ignoring all the other crap Ive seen through this ride. Hell, at this rate, 2011 won't even have football and this coaching unit will stay in place sos the team can save the cash.

In my world that IS normal, just ask my wife! -
Sounds like the antithesis of all our previous OCs under Lovie. I agree with him, just win the games.

Whew!! I was getting worried there for a while until I scrolled down to this post. Nice to see the sensible Madlith is still in there! Then again, What If????? -
Colts secondary coach says, according to PFT, he'd be interested in the DC position. Could be a possibilty.
