Agree 100%. And we'd be paying big $ for an unknown. The hope from me is that they spend on FA and bring in someone who is in their prime for the OL for starters.

WTF? In today's SunTimes: About friggin time, coach. Smith eschewed the idea of playing for the future in the final five games. He said the Bears will field the lineup that gives them the best chance to win.> Why Lovie? Because your job is on the line? Time for the McKaskey's to step in and mention that IT'S THE FUTURE, STUPID! This season is a write off. Put the remaining games to positive use and look at all the personnel on the team. Make some changes in game plans, put in some of the never used plays from that overstuffed playbook. Also: The athleticism of 6-foot, 310-pound defensive tackle Anthony Adams prompted the Bears to use him at fullback for a play against the Vikings. He played the position with the San Francisco 49ers, but two things went wrong Sunday. First, running back Matt Forte was stopped short on third-and-one. Second, Adams didn't report to the referee as an eligible receiver, a mistake that has to be blamed on the coaching staff. ''It's too bad we didn't get a chance to use it more,'' Smith said. > Again, why Lovie? So we could get a few more penalties, or so that he could showcase his lack of blocking ability, or so we could prove undoubtedly that we could not pick up a third-and-one on the ground? The more I hear, the more I'm convinced Lovie is totaly lost. Not even trying to get some use out of the rest of the season by looking at our other players.
-
Agreed, but experience tells us it's not the current staff's M.O..
-
Seems like the obvious move to everyone but the guys who can actualy make the change.
-
Great job by "Zombie" Lovie, heh? This is just more proof that we have no hope as long as he's our leader.
-
I agree. Lovie will get the benefit of Url being out. If anyone gets the boot, it's going to be Turner picked as the scapegoat. We are going to be stuck with two more years of "no clue" Lovie.
-
Hanie only sees the filed this season if Cutler gets hurt. This staff has consistently refused to try out different personnel or looks. Change is definitely needed from the top down.
-
Me too. There is going to be NO running game for us and they are going to tee off on Cutler. Oh, and our D. . . . Forget it.
-
Stopped reading Mayer some time ago. He's the staff's bag guy and just spouts the same nonsense as Lovie, albeit with a BIT more depth.
-
That is exactly it, Connorbear. This team is getting worse every year and Lovie & Co. seem to have no clue how to fix it and also seem to have a business-as-usual, let me collect my paycheck attitude. This has got to change, or we are going to be a bottomfeeder team for several years. And I always liked Quickdraw McGraw and Baba Louie!
-
You got that right. It's just disgusting to watch the opposition march right down the field, picking up third and longs with impunty. Where's the attitude to stick it to the opposition on every down? Instead, we are "bend, don't break," which, IMdO, IS broken as a D philosophy. Where have the Bears ds of the mid/late 80s gone?
-
As shocking as this idea first appears, I agree with you. We've got the guys who can returnkick offs 6 punts and K Davis will be just fine. What we don't have is an OL that can block.
-
Or. . .that Lovie has lost touch with the game and doesn't know any other scheme.
-
That is excactly how I've felt. It's like I'm in the Twilight zone. We win by 30-6, but I could tell even by listening to the radio broadcast that the OL was AWOL and the DL didn't get it done. We are in trouble when we face a real team.
-
No Oline.
-
And Lovie is responsible for the system on the field. The cover 2 ain't getting it done. Not with the players we have.
-
Agreed. And it's all coming around to bite us in the arse now. Both DL and OL are pathetic, with no light at the end of this tunnel, just a fast moving freight train.
-
Brutal. I don't think we can dig ourselves out of this hole--in this game or the season. Our D is getting killed.
-
Pretty much a repeat of the first series. Nice to see Lovie adjust to what is happening. NOT!
-
You know, I'd like to see us stop a team on their first possession. Does it take Lovie until the half to figure out a team?
-
Just read an article that Benson says the Bears blacklisted him with other teams. What an insecure twit! Cincy really is a perfect home for him, bunch of loud mouth, insecure crybabies!

Lovie Lies: We need to change our offensive scheme

He sure seems to be scheming his way to the unemployment line after the season. Just pathetic! -
Thi one and the Puckers season openner. Good teams just don't give the other team the ball. I don't think we're a good team yet. How much longer will it take? The way Minny is managing to pull out games we might have dug ourselves a hole. I hope not, but I'm depressed today. God, what was that bye week for anyway?
-
And should have won if not for the turnovers. You'd think that after the bye week they'd be focused and avoid this crap.
-
No doubt about it, Atl and Cin are going to be humdingers. Hope Lovie is using this bye week to get us ready to bring it!
