Fewell to accept DC position
I, for one, don't like the fact that everyone on the D coaching staff side has to first pass the Lovie connection test. "Fresh air" would be a coach with a different perspective and one that didn't need to be old pals with the HC, but a damn fine defensive coach. I'm hoping Fewell does give us some spark, but I'm leary of all the Lovie nepotism that operates on the defensive side of the ball.

Bears to retain Lovie Smith for 7th season
Nooooooooooooooo!
-
What about the defense
Agreed. The D is a real indictment of Lovie's and Angelo's staff's inability to evaluate and develop players.

Bears @ Lions 1-3-2010 Noon CT
Turner doesn't seem to grasp playing to your strengths. I bet he's fired by tomorrow afternoon.

Happy New Year!!!!
Back at ya! New Years' resolution: fix the Oline!

Piso wants to come back
If Lovie is our coach next season, Pisa probably stays. Personally, Id' rather we use space on our roster to develop some young OL or DB depth. Pisa hasn't shown anything but heart and an ability to get injured.

Tillman & Idonije to IR
Sounds right, cause you know that, if Cutler comes off the field, Hanie is going to get the call.

I just lost some respect for Jaws
With Olsen, I expect much, much more. Going into the season, it was reported that they were joined at the hip, but on game days Olsen seems to be out of position. Olsen should have been one of our strengths. Hester, well he has a long way to go, and he is o longer the big threat on returns. Heck, the way other guys have been contributing on returns, Hester could be odd man out.

Updated 2010 offseason
I also think we'll let Ogunleye walk. Probably Anderson will stick since he seemed to play with some fire last night.

I just lost some respect for Jaws
I agree totally. Now, I'm hoping that this season was not a totalwaste in that it did allow Cutler and his WRs to get some much needed experience. And, I don't expect Jay to be the turnover machine next year, but show the solid talent we all know he has.

Knox a broken ankle?
That's good news. He should be all ready to go at TC. And the report says: It would be nice to give him some reps and see if he can be another young WR contributor.

Briggs speaks too
Now we've got a prominent member of the D and the O questioning the staff. All is not well at Halas Hall. There will be staff changes this offseason. I doubt that Lovie goes, but everyone outside of Toub should feel very vulnerable.

Great Article on DA
I guess Cato was just insurance last week with Briggs out. I sure hope we get to see some of these unproven players getting a chance to show what they have to offer.

Bears vs Packers - 12CT - 12/13/09
Agreed. Lovie and his staff have lost all control and are floundering. It's time to cut our losses with Lovie and move forward.

Pace to start?
DOH! Lovie WANTS to be fired? I guess that way he gets the $ and doesn't have to do the work. My God, who is running the assylum here?
-
Playoff Chances
Hey, nearly a 10% chance! I expect Lovie to make an anouncement anytime now that we're still in the hunt! ROTFLMAO!
-
What's wrong with Jay Cutler
Agree 100%. And we'd be paying big $ for an unknown. The hope from me is that they spend on FA and bring in someone who is in their prime for the OL for starters.

This is embarassing
WTF? In today's SunTimes: About friggin time, coach. Smith eschewed the idea of playing for the future in the final five games. He said the Bears will field the lineup that gives them the best chance to win.> Why Lovie? Because your job is on the line? Time for the McKaskey's to step in and mention that IT'S THE FUTURE, STUPID! This season is a write off. Put the remaining games to positive use and look at all the personnel on the team. Make some changes in game plans, put in some of the never used plays from that overstuffed playbook. Also: The athleticism of 6-foot, 310-pound defensive tackle Anthony Adams prompted the Bears to use him at fullback for a play against the Vikings. He played the position with the San Francisco 49ers, but two things went wrong Sunday. First, running back Matt Forte was stopped short on third-and-one. Second, Adams didn't report to the referee as an eligible receiver, a mistake that has to be blamed on the coaching staff. ''It's too bad we didn't get a chance to use it more,'' Smith said. > Again, why Lovie? So we could get a few more penalties, or so that he could showcase his lack of blocking ability, or so we could prove undoubtedly that we could not pick up a third-and-one on the ground? The more I hear, the more I'm convinced Lovie is totaly lost. Not even trying to get some use out of the rest of the season by looking at our other players.

Orlando takes himself out again.
Agreed, but experience tells us it's not the current staff's M.O..

Orlando takes himself out again.
Seems like the obvious move to everyone but the guys who can actualy make the change.

Bears @ Vikings 3 CT 11-29-09
Great job by "Zombie" Lovie, heh? This is just more proof that we have no hope as long as he's our leader.

This is embarassing
I agree. Lovie will get the benefit of Url being out. If anyone gets the boot, it's going to be Turner picked as the scapegoat. We are going to be stuck with two more years of "no clue" Lovie.

Bears @ Vikings 3 CT 11-29-09
Hanie only sees the filed this season if Cutler gets hurt. This staff has consistently refused to try out different personnel or looks. Change is definitely needed from the top down.

Bears @ Vikings 3 CT 11-29-09
Me too. There is going to be NO running game for us and they are going to tee off on Cutler. Oh, and our D. . . . Forget it.

Anyone else sick of "Chalk Talk" Larry Mayer on Chicago Bears.com??
Stopped reading Mayer some time ago. He's the staff's bag guy and just spouts the same nonsense as Lovie, albeit with a BIT more depth.
