Buennung is a conundrum. He's a vet with experience, so you'd think he would have been given a shot since we all know how the OL played last season. Maybe the guy was not 100%. But you are right, they act as if he isn't even on the roster.
-
If he drops to us I'd be all for taking him. Sure, he's got osme problems, but he also has the talent and has shown it in the college game.
-
Thanks Pix. So KJ was one of those late pickups. He could prove to be valuable for us.
-
By the way, does anyone remember when we signed Lloyd and K. Jones last year?
-
Diddo. JA must have really wanted Omiyale. Now he's just waiting for the FA frenzy to settle and, I hope, I hope, gets back in with players that can actually help.
-
Could very well be. I hope this means they will take a longer look at Wolfe as a 3rd down back. I think that KJ has voiced that he is now 100% and has something to prove. I'm satisfied with this move and hope he does prove that he's a solid RB.
-
Agree that OL should be a priority in the draft, and that St. Clair and Omiyale should not be counted on as starters. The draft will, as always, be interesting from this standpoint. But I also agree that JA may just resign St. Clair and not see the need to add a quality OL in the draft. That, for me, will be a big mistake.
-
And I think you're right. They better be planning on the draft to pick up the future.
-
Makes sense, but God I hope we pick up someone with experience. Hester as the No. 1? That's not something I would want. I do fel that Olsen has shown the versatility to play all over, and is a solid reciever. I agree with nfo, though that it would be better for us to keep our options open with Olsen.
-
KFFL reports that the Raiders will sign Barnes. And one more FA option gone.
-
Doh! Balta, sorry. Still in a sleep induced fog.
-
Balta, sorry that I didn't read down and see you posted this earlier. Thanks. Many of us, most of us, here appreciate the team's history.
-
Sorry TD, didn't see your earlier post.
-
I agree. Harrison has lost it, and I read he doesn't have his heart in the game anymore. So, while he's got a ton of experience, I don't think he brings anything to the table execpt asking for a paycheck. Holt, I am hoping, will get picked up by us.

Geroge McCafee helped make the Bears who they are, historically. (Just hope that JA and Lovie were taking note of our hallowed position in the league that Papa Bear started): From the Bears site: "George McAfee helped establish the proud tradition of the Chicago Bears. His versatility led to his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as he played offense, defense and special teams on three championship teams (1940, 1941 and 1946)," the Bears said in a statement. "George also served his country in the Navy during WWII. We are proud to have him as an integral part of our history and are saddened by his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family." Thaks George.

Sims is signing with Denver? What happened to all the players Denver already had prior to FA? Did they release them? Man, they seem to be signing every player in sight. Maybe I should give them a call. They must need some camp fodder for all those newly signed guys to knock around!
-
In summarry, I'd say JA was well prepared for the interview. He ran all around every question and gave away nothing other than the fact that the team is hoarding its $. QB? Orton is the man, kind of, and after him we don't have a clue. Trade, don't call us unless you're giving the player away. WR, we like collecting non-no. 1s. Draft? It's a crap shoot that JA wishes he didn't have to face. So JA said nothing that made me feel any better about the team I love. Damn!
-
The league should step in and force JA to sign TO. We are the team where WRs go to die, so we would be doing the rest of the league a favor in ridding it of the cancer that is TO. Hell, think about it, he couldn't even last with the Cowboys. No, seriously, I don't want TO in Black and Orange. He would take over the team, swagger about, complain all year, thow everyone under the bus and I'd rather not listen to that crap for the whole year from my team.
-
Ain't that the truth! It feels like we are not a big market team the way the leadership goes about things. Just sit bak and let the league move on around us. God forbid we'd bring in a top F and he'd bust. But then again, we aren't doing anything without them. So why not take a shot once in a while? Are they afraid of actually making it all the way to the top?
-
...isn't it? To read all the KFFL, PFT, etc. blurbs about guys visiting teams and not see the Bears mentioned once? I just wish JA would show a bit more movement. We do have holes and there are players out there that can help. My gosh, are we painting ourselves into acorner for the draft or what?
-
I like conspiracy theories as much as the next guy, but I tend to agree with you jason. I think it's more about coaching than players for us. Yes, we still need OL help, WRs that can get open, a replacement for Brown at S and a backup QB. So, I think JA is looking to sign someone for those spots at a bargain price (which I disagree with) and then look at the draft. I'm hoping that we can get over the hump next season and feel that JA is too.

Eliminate Tampa as an opption for Jones. They signed Ward. I would like to hve Jones return for another season. But we'll just have to see what, if any, offers he gets from other teams.
-
Me too. Let's go after a bigger kid who can catch anything thrwn his way and can work off the jam at the LOS.
-
In the article (SunTimes?) he says he wasn't 100%. Also says he loves being here, but it's a business and he will go where he can get paid. Yeah, I'd like to have him back, but I just bet he'll get an offer and we won't match. Too bad. He knows the system and is now ready to be a complete contributor.

Excellent point bradjock. Tait's retiring means we've got a big hole. While he seemed like he didn't play up to his level last season, he still represented an experienced RTwho knew how to get the job done. This really does mean we need more than one FA and resigning to fix our disgraceful OL.
