  1. Don't even go there! We are going to take the division this year, making the Williams Wall crumble, putting an old-fashioned Halas butt whoppin' on the Puckers and bringing back nightmares of last year for the Kitties in Detroit. I'm looking forward to what our D can accomplish with a QB that can handle all aspects of the O.
  2. I recall reading somewhere that the Bears have reached the League limit for retiring numbers. While Brown had a great career with us, I really don't think his number should be retired.
  3. Great idea lemonej. And Nfo's right, wehave guys here from all over the college grid and could gain great insights on players. Personally, not being able to see any college games, this would give me some interesting info leading up to the draft, from guys that I know are not BSing. (well, maybe not)
  4. I hope he becomes better known for leaping over opposing linemen and getting the QB.
  5. I had a feeling that JA would ignore the OL with this draft. They must feel that we'll get more out of Pace and they can bring Williams along. But man, it would have been nice to get one guy for some OG depth now and for the future.
  6. Oh yeah, tell me about it. At least it was only 9pm here. What a non-event first day draft!
  7. I don't think tha OL is going to be on JA's list today.
  8. Probably because all the players they had on their board worth the pick were gone, after the "luck" factor came into play, as JA put it in the SunTimes and Trib today. They had people on their board that they graded as lower than the 49th pick, so they got some extra picks for it. We'll see what they do today and then make a final judgement.
  9. I hope you're right. If not, we are going to need to pick up a vet later. Someone's cast-off. But hey, I'm happy cause we got Cutler.
  10. Think you're right. Robiskie is not going to make it to #49. I'll guess we'll look at D, SS or DE, if that happens.
  11. He'll be gone by the time we pick, anyway. And I'll be glad to see it, too.
  12. Agree. I also read that Lovie says the guy they get at #49 will be looked at as a solid contributor. I can't see us going after someone with our first pick that will need to be nursed along all that much. I'm hoping that Robiskie is there, but I can see us going S, DE or even OL if the right poayer is thre and the right WR is not.
  13. No such luck here. ESPN will have all soccer matches troughout Saturday. They even got rid of the English version of SportsCenter and only have the Spanish one. It's a bummer. But at leat their's the Internet!
  14. I'll periodically check the web for updates. There will not be any transmission of the draft here.
  15. I would rephrase that to: Most importantly, unless there's an EXTREME run on WR's, there ought to be a pretty damn good SELECTION of WR available when the Bears draft at #49. This position prooves to be a crap shoot every year. I hope we do get a wide sortment to choose from, though.
  16. I too don't think that we draft WR with our first two picks. IMdO, they have several options on thier board for each pick and they'll go with BPA that also fits a need--unless, of course, someone has fallen dramatically to our pick that is not, necessarily, a need. I think we go into the draft with WR and FS as top needs up front. Now, if an OL were to fall to the 49th pick that we like, then I can see JA taking him as well. I can see us taking two WR in the draft, just not consecutively.
  17. Ain't that the sad truth?
  18. Great news! Maybe I'll get a chance to see some of those games here! And I promise not to go to sleep after the first half!!!
  19. For what it's worth, NFL.com says we will have the weakest schedule next seas based on 2008 numbers: http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true And by the way, Minny has the second weakest!

    UDFA?

Thanks. I'm referring to players that weren't drafted by any team, but signed later.

    UDFA?

Since we have a very limited no. of draft picks now, quite a few Undrafted Free Agents will probably be brought in, to TC at least. My question is, does anyone know if we have any UDFAs on the current roster?
  22. Agree. Now, can we live up to the hype?
  23. I agree. We get a proven player and do not take the risk that always goes with draft picks, from the first round especially. We now can use the money that would have been spent on a risk to get players that are proven and also to reward players that we have that we want to keep. It was a win-win deal.
  24. Maybe Brian Url will get the idea and step up on D. I really doubt it, though. Briggs could be the man, but our D seems to be loadede with guys who are great individual players who also like to playwith other individual players. None have yet to stand out as a leader who rallies the rest of the team when necessary.
