  1. I don't think McMahon is mature today! LOL And how about him mooning the helicopter at the Super Bowl practice?! I really liked the guy as our QB.
  2. Yes, I too think it is very hypocritical. And a risk? Look at it from our point of view--we need a solid QB, one that can get the ball into WR's hands. Cutler does that. So we get a Pro Bowler, and young that can be around for many years. I think it was worth the price. Also, I can see Cutler's point of view. Denver fired Shanahan and brought in a new guy who immediately tries to trade for a QB. Man, if I were Cutler I'd be pissed too. Bottom line, we now have a QB that can play. Keep blah, blah, blahing Dungy.
  3. Not surprised. And ain't it nice to have some depth on the OL?
  4. Harlon is in the Hall of Fame, right?
  5. IF Harris can stay healthy, then I'm looking for Marinelli to push him back to Pro Bowl level. And yes, it all starts with the DL.
  6. Yep, you are right. I just remember when he had 97 receptions in 1964, which was big. And that was the year that Butkus and Sayers were rookies.
  7. And you can add to that that he did give the Cards an offer for Boldin on draft day, but it didn't pan out. Yeah, I like what JA has done this offseason. Now it's getting time for the coaches and players to complete the picture. TC is going to be interesting this season.
  8. My all time greats are Morris, Ditka and Waddle. Ditka would lay the lumber on folks after the catch and Waddle, well, what can you say?
  9. Maybe the whole friggin' D line now that Marinelli is coaching them.
  10. Don't even go there! We are going to take the division this year, making the Williams Wall crumble, putting an old-fashioned Halas butt whoppin' on the Puckers and bringing back nightmares of last year for the Kitties in Detroit. I'm looking forward to what our D can accomplish with a QB that can handle all aspects of the O.
  11. I recall reading somewhere that the Bears have reached the League limit for retiring numbers. While Brown had a great career with us, I really don't think his number should be retired.
  12. Great idea lemonej. And Nfo's right, wehave guys here from all over the college grid and could gain great insights on players. Personally, not being able to see any college games, this would give me some interesting info leading up to the draft, from guys that I know are not BSing. (well, maybe not)
  13. I hope he becomes better known for leaping over opposing linemen and getting the QB.
  14. I had a feeling that JA would ignore the OL with this draft. They must feel that we'll get more out of Pace and they can bring Williams along. But man, it would have been nice to get one guy for some OG depth now and for the future.
  15. Oh yeah, tell me about it. At least it was only 9pm here. What a non-event first day draft!
  16. I don't think tha OL is going to be on JA's list today.
  17. Probably because all the players they had on their board worth the pick were gone, after the "luck" factor came into play, as JA put it in the SunTimes and Trib today. They had people on their board that they graded as lower than the 49th pick, so they got some extra picks for it. We'll see what they do today and then make a final judgement.
  18. I hope you're right. If not, we are going to need to pick up a vet later. Someone's cast-off. But hey, I'm happy cause we got Cutler.
  19. Think you're right. Robiskie is not going to make it to #49. I'll guess we'll look at D, SS or DE, if that happens.
  20. He'll be gone by the time we pick, anyway. And I'll be glad to see it, too.
  21. Agree. I also read that Lovie says the guy they get at #49 will be looked at as a solid contributor. I can't see us going after someone with our first pick that will need to be nursed along all that much. I'm hoping that Robiskie is there, but I can see us going S, DE or even OL if the right poayer is thre and the right WR is not.
  22. No such luck here. ESPN will have all soccer matches troughout Saturday. They even got rid of the English version of SportsCenter and only have the Spanish one. It's a bummer. But at leat their's the Internet!
  23. I'll periodically check the web for updates. There will not be any transmission of the draft here.
  24. I would rephrase that to: Most importantly, unless there's an EXTREME run on WR's, there ought to be a pretty damn good SELECTION of WR available when the Bears draft at #49. This position prooves to be a crap shoot every year. I hope we do get a wide sortment to choose from, though.
