Agree Grizz. The new Trib site sux.
-
Agree DBDB, and I hope we are all wrong here about Babich, but the proof is in the pudding, and Babich's pudding really sux to this point.

Sure, it's what got Lovie to this point. But you also have to know when to"tweak" a system that most QBs are picking apart. How about some blitzes? How about gettting up on the receivers at the LOS? It is frustrating to see Tillman and Vasher line up 5-10 yrds off the WR and then he catches a quick pass.Where is the agressiveness on D? This seems to be a "we'll let you have a FG but more than that, we'll challenge you in the red zone." And no, I'm not saying go to a 3-4 scheme. Just adjust to situations and take it to the O, don't just react--dictate. Buddy Ryan must be LHAO.

The Sun Times lists the injury report: Injury report By Brad Biggson September 3, 2008 4:18 PM | Permalink | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0) The first injury report of the season has been released. We'll try to update them daily on here as they are released, typically around 3 p.m. A look at the Bears: Wednesday, Sept. 3 DT Tommie Harris, left knee. Harris participated partially in practice and is expected to be able to start Sunday. DE Mark Anderson, right thumb. Anderson participated partially in practice and is expected to play Sunday. FS Mike Brown, knee. Brown participated fully in practice and is expected to start Sunday. LS Pat Mannelly, neck. Mannelly participated fully in practice and is expected to play Sunday. G Terrence Metcalf, right knee. Metcalf participated fully in practice for the first time since undergoing arthroscopic surgery more than a month ago. DB Brandon McGowan, knee. McGowan participated fully in practice and is expected to play Sunday. DT Dusty Dvoracek, right calf. Dvoracek participated fully in practice and is expected to play Sunday. TE Desmond Clark, right knee. Clark participated fully in practice and is expected to start Sunday. So they all are expected to be rady to go on Sunday. We are gonna need all those guys to have a shot this season.

It is the damn Cover-2 (lay off and let the QB pick you apart) system. Without a healthy Harris to get the big push and pressure on the QB this soft system isn't gonna work.
-
No problem with that. When I read the article this afternoon there was no post that mentioned the trade. Then I posted and my post did not appear until the previous one did. So I gotta ask, what happened?

From Chicago Trib: Bears add offensive line help Vaughn McClure, 3:52 p.m. The Bears added some offensive line help Tuesday, trading a undisclosed 2009 draft pick to Tampa Bay for former Buccaneer starting guard Dan Buenning. To make room on the roster for Buenning, the Bears released fifth-round draft pick Zackary Bowman, a cornerback from Nebraska. Buenning (6-4, 320) started all 16 games at left guard for Tampa Bay in 2005 and he started seven of nine games in 2006 before being placed on the injured reserve with a knee injury. He was inactive for every game last season. Buenning was drafted in the fourth round out of Wisconsin in 2005. His hometown is Green Bay.

Same ole, same ole, uh Pix? Seems almost like when pigs fly will JA get some serviceable youth for the Oline.
-
Hold on a sec, Connorbear. I too am glad he's on the PS, but I hope he stays there and the WRs on the 53 man roster do more than enough to keep him there. Maybe he should get some pointers from Hass on how to weather the season.
-
Agree with you Connorbear. Hanie has shown enough that he can be the no. 3 guy this year. And Rex has shown enough positive play to be the backup. Right now, the QB position is not of great concern to me. The Oline, though is. If we are going to get anyone off waivers, it should be Oline help.
-
Glad to see Hanie made it. Now it will be interesting to see what they do about picking up some help on the Oline. And Bradley better stay healthy and contribute.
-
kffl.com reports that Hanie will be on the 53 man roster. Glad to see it. Now, what about the Oline?
-
Per Sun Times. So who is left? And will we pick up an Olineman off waivers?
-
One of the best posts I've read today Jason. Go figure. Ol is where it all begins and ends on every down. One injury and our weak Oline is gonna be the end of us.
-
Agree on looking at the cuts from teams with a strong Ol. This is just a fine pickle that JA has gotten us in to. And one week before the season starts.
-
Man, I'll definitely be praying for Peanut's kid tonight when my knees hit the floor. And I agree, no way Tillman could be thinking of his job through all that.
-
I hope! We are going to need some kind of depth, and what we have now ain't gonna get it done for the season.
-
It is maddening to me that, with the mess we have on the Oline, JA did not bring in someone that had a snowball's chance to win a spot. And now, if we pick up some guys off waivers, they will need some time to get the system down. Very disappointing job by JA & Lovie with the Oline, among other things.

Just read this on the Trib site. About time!
-
I thin there are questions surrounding how he would enter the NFL, Draft? FA?, and also if he has even completed high school. I really don't see it happening. The guy is a God in Jamaica, why would he want to take his act North?
-
This game definitely resigned Rex to a backup role. I hope we don't need him. But the way the position attracts injuries, it will be good to have Rex come in, only if needed. I'm psyched about Kyle!
-
Yeah, darn. All I got last night was "Not Broadcasting". Well, hopefully I'll get some during the season.
-
Agree Pix. As a Purdue alumn I'm glad he finally gets the shot after riding the pine for a while. Kyle gained valuable experience his first year, now I want to see him step up. On the other hand, I think Rex got a bum deal in Seattle. And if our Oline does not improve, no one at QB or RB will get much done this season.
-
Hass is gone. And Bradley is just hanging in there. Bennett is gonna stick, thanks in large part to showing he can field punts and be there if Hester can't. But it really won't matter much if we don't have an Oline, cause there just won't be any passes thrown.
