Great points. I was in your same boat with Forte. I would have liked to see him brought back for another 2 years (especially for what the Jets paid for him). The only reason I can rationalize not signing Forte is Pace and Co want to get younger. It the only reason when seeing what they offered Anderson.

    I think both are great comparisons. That's why I think this kid is going to be special. AP 6'1 217 40 yard = 4.41 20 yard = 2.60 L Tomlinson 5'10 221 40 YARD = 4.46 20 yard = 2.59 Ez Elliott 6'0 225 40 yard = 4.47 20 yard = 2.62 Size and speed are both about the same compared to both of these HALL OF FAME RB'S.

AP and the six pack = take a look at this kid! lol Forte gave us 8 great years. You don't consider that long term production and success at the RB position?

    Rumors

    1. Absolutely agree the RB has been devalued in the NFL but Fox likes to run the ball, Im hoping the goal is to get back to that brand of football Chicago Bear Football. Using a RB like Forte in the passing game also brings a lot of value as well. EZ can do it all. 6. Ill use AP as my comparison because some have compared EZ to him. He has lasted how long? At 31 he is still a dominate player. As long as we are talking about players per positions and length of career....How did Williams and Carmi work out for us??? Anything can happen to any player at any position. Im all for building the Lines up, but if all the top tier talent at those positions are gone and EZ is the best rated player I dont see anything wrong with drafting him. Im with you on drafting other area's first. Im just saying I would be happy with EZ if all the other guys are already off the board and he is the BPA.

    Rumors

I was basing drafting EZ off the fact that both top LT's were already off the board and the the top tier Defensive guys. I would rather have Myles Jack or Stanley before EZ but I dont think they will be around. I actually could see EZ being drafted before the Bears too.
  6. Watched a bunch of his college games. Never really paid a ton of attention to him during draft time because I didn't think the Bears would draft him. Thought he was a solid college QB, didn't expect much out of him in the NFL. It will be interesting to see if he sustains the level of play we saw last year.

Not in love with Lawson at 11. If they trade down then yes, I feel he is similar to McPhee just not as good at rushing the passer. Not saying he won't become a better. If it was between EZ or Lawson at 11 I would go EZ. I feel EZ will be a bigger game changer sooner. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/sha...wson?id=2555252
  8. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/con...cook?id=2555332 Here is one draft write up. Some guys hate the idea of drafting him, not sure how I feel about it. In the 3rd I could probably come around to it. Things I like after reading up on him 1. Size - 6'4 (can see the field easily) 2. Plus arm strength 3. Quick release 4. scans the field well, doesn't throw into safety coverage As for the leadership question, Conklin came out to his defense about the leadership question.... Just a thought

    Rumors

I think you are right on 4 points. Last year there were blaring needs.... Not as bad this year. Sure the need to upgrade the total talent of the roster is there still but I think they can go BPA other then WR and be fine.

Agreed. The kid will be a game changer. Exactly what the Bears need.

    Rumors

I Agree with you on the Bears have bigger needs elsewhere. But I would like to play Devils Advocate on it being stupid: 1. Matt Forte has been one of the most important positional players for the last 8 years on offense. Wouldn't it be smart to invest in that postion? 2. The Bears have historically been a run first offense with a long list of great RB's, they want to get back to being "THE BEARS" investing in the Next great RB would not be stupid. 3. Pace believes in BPA.... If Pace believes EZ is the BEST still on the Board its not like we have Levon Bell starting in front of him 4. Elliott's college coach is now on the Bears staff, they probably have the best scouting report on this kid out of all the kids. You have to hit home runs in the 1st round, if they know he is, it's a safe pick 5. Langford showed some flashes last year but if he goes down how does our RB depth look??? 6. I think EZ is going to be a GAME CHANGER, just watch the NC game against Bama. Watch what he does to that NFL filled Defense. The Bears have to add as much TOP end talent as they can. If that means drafting EZ because the best Oline and defensive studs are gone then Im all for it. I would rather they take him before taking a reach on some guy that fits a need better. Go for the best talent as long as you dont have a Kyle Long type player in that position. rounds 2 and 3 you can address needs.
  12. Wonder if he give Thompson pointers on drafting?????? lol
  13. Bennett 1. Unhappy with contract 2. Somewhat of a distraction 3. Last year of contract 4. Clearly was not going to give him a raise or resign him 5. Bears are a year away from being real contenders so no reason to keep him around see number 4 All Reasons why it makes sense to trade him for a Draft pick. This is a smart move for the future.
  14. Who knows maybe someone will get cut after the draft that's worth while to sign.
  15. Not sure why you would hitch your wagon to Webb. He was terrible, I can only think of one Tackle worse and that's John St Clair.
  16. He is on his 3rd team since the Bears, two other teams have not resigned him after experiencing what the Bears did. The last two years he played G, maybe he isn't as terrible at G as Tackle.
  17. watched the video, there were 3 plays where he lined up outside and rushed the passer against a Tackle. He looked good. Not really a whole to go off of but if he is going to sit behind everyone at ILB why not give him a try at OLB. Fangio knows what he is looking for when it comes to players and what positions they would be best at. We will see if Fangio agrees with you. Like I said I agree with you, if he is sitting why not.
  18. Can I ask why you want to see him at OLB. He has been an ILB since college, what about him makes you think he can switch to OLB and get better?
  19. Well that explains that..... I wonder if Fox was tired of dealing with his weight issue, I remember reading he kept missing his weight while in Denver. He sure loved getting that sack against the Bears last year, gave Fox a look after it.
  20. Our biggest DT/NT is Goldman. Who else do we have to eat the middle up? If he can be signed to a Bear friendly contract I say why not?!

    Ryan Pace

Trust me I am not hanging on, just stating what I would have liked to see. I get that Forte is not apart of the future. The Bears need to get younger, which they have. I hope they can add a game changer in the first round.
  22. Bears draft Carson Wentz at 11 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/mock-drafts/...jeremiah/300606 http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2016/3/14/1121...ff-carson-wentz Bruckner falls to us at 11 http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-dra...r-a-deep-threat Reed a DL from Bama
  23. I wish there was a Von Miller in this years draft, but it wouldnt matter the Bears won too many games to draft him. lol The only guy close in terms to measurables is Floyd but Im not too familiar with his play tho. Millers forty is retarded for a 255 lb guy.
  24. Chitownhustla

    Ryan Pace

I agree with Forte, I would have liked to seen him brought back for 2 more years. He should be serviceable for 2 years while giving Langford and Carey some touches as well. The only thing that makes sense is that the Bears wanted to get younger. This has to be an age issue or else they wouldn't have offered Anderson as much as they did. This makes he think the Bears will look to add a RB in the draft. As far as the rest of what Pace has done, I love it. They had a ton of cap space and they were smart about it. They have set themselves up really well for the draft. They can go any route they want. Hey, maybe the Bears guy will drop to them, the draft can be a crazy thing. If not they could always trade back.
