  1. I love the idea of the system staying the same. Loggains will add his twist to it. The big thing is his Game Day play calling. Anyone have any info on Loggains time as an OC with the Titans?
  2. Im not in love with Hogan but in the later rounds he could be a nice pick up.
  3. Well we will find out in April if Jones in the 3rd is crazy or not. From watching him last year I will be shocked if he gets drafted in the 3rd. Crazier things have happened tho.
  4. Im with you. Pace needs to get as much talent on this roster as fast as possible. If he can find some gems in the 1st through the 5th like last year the Bears will be on their way! The Bears are not in a position to draft Jones in the 3rd, 4th or 5th. I would rather they pick up a vet back up at qb before doing that.
  5. He played lights out last year in a pressure situation. Did you watch him this year when they opened the play book up? No doubt he has a great arm, is pretty mobile but he looked like garbage this year. Confirmed last year they used a very small amount of the playbook.
  6. Have fun in Mia, I'm Sure Suh's contract will make things tough soon
  7. My feelings were not hurt. I just think it is a waste of time to compare apples and oranges. Kind of like comparing two Qb's passer rating and coming up with the notion that they are both game managers because of a Passer Rating........... Now that one hurt my feelings.
  8. Article you copied and pasted. Espn - Dickerson Bears quarterback Jay Cutler improved six spots from last year to finish 17th in ESPN’s Total QBR. Cutler’s 60.7 overall QBR placed him ahead of New York’s Eli Manning (60.5), Houston’s Brian Hoyer (59.6) and San Diego’s Philip Rivers (59.4). Total QBR calculates efficiency on a per-play basis, taking into account pass attempts, run plays, penalized plays and sacks. Cutler additionally had a Points Above Average (PAA) of +19.3, meaning that he added over 19 more points to the Bears than an average quarterback would have with the same number of action plays. It says here he added 19 points to the Bears compared to what an Average QB would have...........I think its saying Cutler is better than average. How much better I dont know. The last seven quarterbacks to win the MVP finished the season ranked in the top of PAA, including four who lead the league. Cutler actually ranked 5th in ESPN’s Total QBR (67.1) in 2013, before he plummeted to No. 23 (52.8) in Marc Trestman’s final season on the job. Arizona’s Carson Palmer led all NFL quarterbacks with an 82.1 Total QBR in 2015. I also dont understand why you want to bring Cutler into a conversation about Lovie. Comparing coaches and players are not the same. Coaches can be evaluated by wins and losses. Players you can but only to a certain extent.
  9. I can agree with all your points. Urlacher with big Ted and tractor Taylor was awesome to watch!!
  10. I could be wrong but didn't they spend on defense through FA the first year?
  11. I agree on Floyd.... Smith from ND too. Huuuuggggggeeee fan of him, but his knee is really screwed up. ACL, LCL and possible nerve damage. Nerve damage is the bad one. Don't want another first round pick not playing.
  12. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock-draft Both guys think the Bears go OLB...... I would think OLB isnt the biggest need right now.

  14. To add to your point on Lovies Guys=Lovie's son was the DB coach. That unit is curcial to run Lovies D and the unit as a whole was terrible. Forgot to add that one on my earlier post, heard that on the score as well.
  15. Listening to the score it sounds like the GM and OC may have been in on it together....Who knows tho. They went over somethings that he did wrong but 2 years is too short. The biggest mistake he made was sign a bunch of FA last year for some big money and most have cut already. For everyone debating Good coach/ Bad coach Bad Coach = Trestman Good Coach = Lovie Amazing Coach = Bill Belicheck
  16. very true, Cutler has always wanted to work with Loggains. He should still be comfortable in that regard.
  17. I dont think Fox is considered an all time great at this point in his career. He has been to two SB's with two different teams which I dont think many HC can say. I think he may have a better overall body of work than Lovie just because he took two different teams to the SB. I have never really looked at Lovie and Fox side by side, will have to do that.
  18. Passer Rating has no correlation to being a game manager. If you watched Kyle Orton while playing for the Bears he was clearly a game manager. He handed the ball off, was not asked to do much. The defense and special teams were asked to win the game. They had an amazing defense and special teams, its how they won games. When he went to Denver he had a great oline, good weapons and a good scheme he put up way better numbers. That offense was better suited for Ortons talents, he is accurate in short to medium throws, one of the reasons McDaniels didnt need a QB like Cutler. Ortons numbers would not have been as good had he not had a very good supporting cast, Great Oline, BM, good TE and running backs. Remember the year before Cutler got to Chicago he was only sacked 8 times, i think the lowest in the NFL that year. Cutler is not a game manager. You can come up with any stat you want, its not the case. Cutler improved and cut down on his mistakes, Im trying to remember if he threw any WTF INT's this year, I dont think he did. Just because he cut down on INT's doesnt make him a game manager. He clearly is a big reason why the Bears won 6 games this year. He elevated his game with a poor Oline and injury depleted WR group. A game manager would not have put up the stats or wins with this group. I do have a concern with Gase leaving, we will find out how much he had an impact on Cutler this year. Hopefully Pace fixes the oline and they get a good OC hired. If they make Cutlers life easier I think he can improve on last years performance.
  19. I think Lovie is a good coach, I agree with you there. With regards to championships -he had a lot of control here in Chicago, when you dont win a championship it directly points to you. In regards to not winning a SB while being the QB, you don't control who they draft, sign as a FA and what coaches are hired. Dan Marino never won a SB. He still is one of the all time greats, because of his individual accomplishments . When it comes to Coaches you cant be considered one of the all time greats without winning a SB because you are judged on how well your TEAM does.
  20. Orton was a game manager while with the Bears. Didnt win us many games and didnt lose us many games. Check his stats from those years. When he went to Denver he was a different QB, McDaniels used him a whole lot better then Lovie. Comparing Passer Ratings to being a game manager is the dumbest thing I have ever heard........ You think Brett Farve was a game manager???????? Do me a favor and check is career passer rating.......Ill wait for your response.
  21. I dont think it would happen but you bring up an interesting idea. Gase goes somewhere they need a QB, trades for Cutler.....We do draft 11th, QB could be there for the taking. You at that point have 16 million more in cap space to sign a stud FA.
  22. Many didnt think Cutler could or would ever do it. He did it he can do it again. The best part about it he did it with a crap oline and a limited amount of weapons. Hopefully the QB coach Cutler loves stays, helping with the OC change. If Im Pace I upgrade the Oline, sign one in FA and draft one. I tag or resign Alshon I pray White is as good as advertised. Those three things happen and its lights out!
  23. Of the two I think Houston should stay. Young did play better than I expected but is still out of position while Houston is not. Fangio is limited to certain play call when Young is in the ball game. You did see Young out in pass coverage every once in awhile but not very often. I would think you could trade Young and sign someone to produce similar stats but be better in pass coverage giving Fangio more play call options. Either way if both did stay I would understand it and see what angle you are going with it.
