  1. I agree that some stats they do are worth a shit and some not so much. Stats tell a story but don't always tell the whole story is all Im saying. Example in the simplest terms possible : QB throws for 275 yards, 2 Td's and 3 INT's. Lets just say his grade is a C+ because of the 3 INT's but 2 of those INT's are because the WR fell down while making his cut. Does he deserve a C+......I don't think so. before any Cutler haters freak out, this is a completely made up not intended or geared towards our INT Lover Cutler.
  2. Dabomb brings up a great point in what does Forte want....Does he want the chance to play for a playoff caliber team or stay in Chicago. Is money the biggest factor or number of guaranteed years? At this point of the season we really don't know what the Bears are, they have played 3 of the top 5 teams in the NFL. Once we see them play some teams that are middle of the road we will have better idea how bad it is or maybe how close we are to being good. Maybe with a few key additions in the off season we could be a playoff contender and Forte will want to stay, then its up to the money and years.
  3. I wonder if at this point the plan is already been decided on or are they going to decide on it after this season. Lets say Cutler continues to get better in Gases system and finishes the season with great stats and lowers his turnovers, does that change the plan? Cutler is playing this season to save his career, Im not saying he will but what if he does. It could change what the Bears do with Alshon, Bennet and even Forte. I don't see any other team giving Forte big money or even long term guaranteed money, the Bears could sign him on a cost effective contract but the only reason I see them resigning Forte is if they think they can make a push for the playoffs next year. Then take into consideration the amount of cap space the Bears have, IF Cutler turns it around and the offense wont be starting over you can go after some OL help and defensive talent. Think about this sign a LT Sign a CB sign a guy like Von Miller or some other BIG TIME FA on the defensive side you have White coming back hopefully lives up to the 1st round draft pick The Bears could easily turn this thing around quicker then later. But that all revolves around Cutler and Im not getting my hopes up that he will do what I have been praying for!
  4. Agree with you on throwing off the back foot, mentioned it earlier in a different thread. This is something Cutler does or has a tendency to do as well. Im sure with the correct coaching it can be corrected. There is still a lot of football left, with the added talk about him being a high draft pick I look fwd to seeing how he handles the pressure. Once the season is done there will be a whole lot of film to watch. If the Bears are drafting high enough to get him and Pace thinks he has it, its a no brainer. One thing Pace said earlier, the QB model he will be looking for is Drew Brees. I know its not the end all be all but if there is a QB with similar traits to Drew Brees you know he will take a shot. So, I just tried to look up Drew's draft profile to see what people were saying about him to compare it too Goff's. I couldn't find it, if anyone finds it I would love to read it. EDIT = I found this but its not a complete write up https://espn.go.com/melkiper/s/2001/0418/1174979.html
  5. I think Pace drafted well for his first draft White = injury is not Pace's fault, hope he will be a game changer at 6'3 210 running a 4.3 forty he should pan out Goldman = a first round talent in the 2nd, haven't paid attention to him much during the regular season but he looked good in preseason Grasu = hoping he pans out as a long term answer at center Langford= I like what I have seen from him so far Amos = starting S, hope to see him get comfortable now that he has 3 weeks under his belt My big thing with drafting is you have to HIT more times then not in the first 3 rounds. Any pick outside of those rounds that pan out is a bonus. JA and Emery wasted too many 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks. Guys that come to mind are Williams - 1st round injury back injury should have been a red flag, Bazuin 2nd round DE that didn't play a down, The kid that jumped out of a pool -3rd round, Hardin 3rd round never played a down, the list could go on and on.
  6. I wonder if Von Miller gets to FA??? Love that plan! Means Cutler plays well the rest of this year. You couldn't write a better storyline if Cutler wins a SB for Chicago.
  7. I don't think it's about the point spread.
  8. Benjamin Allbright tweeted that two contacts inside the Bears say Alshon is not on the block and that Forte is. Could be all hear say or real.....who knows
  9. From the video I have watched I would go Goff all day. If we were going QB that is.
  10. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-dra...rterbacks-again 2nd pick = Bosa http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2572923...ts-after-week-3 1st pick = Jared Goff http://walterfootball.com/draft2016.php 1st pick = Connor Cook http://www.todayspigskin.com/from-the-side...ft-version-3-0/ 1st pick = Jared Goff
  11. I do not want to see the Bears trade Forte, with him and the rest of the offense healthy you have a chance. You take him away from our offense and it wont be pretty. I do see the other side of it tho, if someone would trade a 3rd or 2nd it may be a deal they have to make. Forte is 30 and if the Bears are not planning on letting him walk in FA next year then they will get nothing in return. From the two trades that they made yesterday I don't see this as a fire sale, they traded two players that don't match our new scheme. If they are calling this a year the best way to get that number 1 draft pick is to trade any players that are good that wont be here next year.
  12. I really didn't appreciate it as much as I should have. I took it for granted much like the Bulls in the 90's. I was young then and didn't realize HOW amazing Jordan and co were.
  13. I miss the young 54 55 33 23
  14. Webb is the starting at left tackle for the Raiders???
  15. I am right there with you, trying to see the positive in anything Bear related. Pace is making moves, better days should be coming! Hopefully sooner than later.
  16. Where did u see that Fox nixed it? I would be shocked if they traded Forte. I know it's a rebuild but you don't typically see a complete gut job in the NFL.
  17. There is no guaranteed money after this year, they could have cut him without any cap hit. They got a 6th for it and save 800,000 this year
  18. I just read the Bears will pay everything but 800,000 of this years salary.
  19. Houston has the best chance to not get cut. Jared Allen and Willie Young are true 4-3 DE's. Houston has better size and skill sets to play OLB then the other two. I figure Pace is going to want HIS guys and will put his stamp on this roster, Houston, Young and Allen were Emery guys. Anyone else notice Acho got a lot more reps this past weekend??? Then boom Jared Allen is traded.
