  1. GB AZ SEA OAK KC DET MN SD RAMS DEN GB 49er's WAS MN TB DET If you look at our schedule I think there are only 3 games that the Bears have very little chance at winning. That is the two against GB and SEA. Denver looked all screwed up this week or else I would put them in the same category as GB and SEA. Rams looked good against SEA, SD looked good too. MN looked terrible against the 49ers and the 49ers still didn't look like the 49ers of late. TB sucks, DET didn't look great either. Granted this is only the first week but you cant tell me the Bears do not have a chance in all of these games.
  2. Well I guess if you only watch preseason and practice you won't have much to bitch about!
  3. I thought he looked good in preseason. I didn't really pay attention to kick returns this game. Hoping to catch a replay this week.
  4. Bears D vs them last year Fangio (san Fran) against them last year and The Bears D vs them this year Tucker sucked more then we thought.
  5. Very solid point. Im sure it helped a little bit. At the end of the day the Bears didn't run some crazy new offense that no one has ever seen. GB's coaching staff and players have seen most if not every formation and play ran.
  6. Matthews took off for that area right at the snap Cutler missed a read, that's it. Wilson was wide open and could have been a TD very easily, he was that open with a lane to run after the catch. I said this last year and Ill say it this year, I just want to see Cutler NOT make the completely stupid bone head plays that have plagued him. He didn't make any of those plays yesterday. Did he miss a read on that INT, yes but no QB is perfect and Matthews made a great play. And you mentioned it, Cutler made some good if not great plays on his feet. I think this unit is going to get better and Cutler will too. After yesterday's game my faith on Cutler turning it around went up a little bit.

  8. In the same token Clay Matthews is paid really well to make that play. The guy is a PRO BOWLER. If this was the INT like the Kyle Williams (mentioned by Alaska) INT from last year, just a stupid as shit throw that Cutler should never make I would agree with the CUTLER SUCKS comments coming after one game. He threw a good pass, it wasn't an over thrown ball, it wasn't triple covered. Matthews just made a play. I think for the first game in a new scheme Cutler was good. This was the first time running these plays against a different team in a real game. The more reps they get in real games the better everyone is going to get.
  9. The Bears currently ranked 25th in the power rankings played the 3rd ranked Packers who were very close to playing in the Super Bowl 8 months ago. New Staff, New Scheme's and some new players! Last year the Bears got embarrassed by the Packers twice. Leading up to this game I was not very excited due to how BAD the Bears were last year. After watching the game I am very excited about the direction of this team. 1. We were leading at half......Holy crap. 2. They ran the shit about of the ball..........amazing, I loved it. 3. Forte is really underappreciated around the league. 4. James Jones first TD was actually covered well but he made a great play. 5. Cobb's TD was another amazing catch. Either way there was Pass Interference on the play 6. Didn't like the Red zone play call from the staff but that is about all I will complain about 7. They held Lacy to 85 yards rushing= not bad for a new Defense in their first real game. 8. Thought Cutler played well other then the one INT 9. FORTE IS A BEAST, he deserves two mentions, wish he would have caught that goal line pass tho Offense: All in all for their first real game against a top tier team I was happy. We have to realize this offense is only going to get better, GB's offense is already about were its going to be. The starting point for the Bears offense looks to be pretty good. The top 3 WR's are all banged up, Alshon hasn't really practiced in a month and half. Gase is going to get better as the season goes on, he is going to learn what players and plays work best. I think everyone should be pretty excited about the O. I know Cutler threw a INT, they are going to happen. Hopefully the next time Cutler gets that look on that play he reads it and hits Wilson. Defense: I think they looked better then last year. They were playing against one of the best Offenses in the league. They kept it close for large portion of the game, and I think this is another great starting point for this Unit. Coaching staff: They are in a different universe compared to last years staff. Like I said above the only part of the game I really was unhappy with was the goal line play call. In FOX and CO I trust!!!!
  10. INT's are going to happen. Clay made a great play. Lets hope Cutler learns from it and hits Wilson next time because he was open in the area Clay left.
  11. Yep......there was no defense to speak of.....GB 38-17 and 55-14......... Fangio alone should better that score. The big question mark on D is the Secondary which is not the area you want questioning going against Rodgers. The only shot the D has is pressuring the shit out of Rodgers. If the front 7 can contain Lacy and the front 4 get to Rodgers the Bears will have a chance.
  12. hahaha....... along the lines of he may be a jerk but he is our jerk! lol
  13. 2009 - 2012 Cutler dealt with a combo of scheme/ poor oline play / no weapons 2012 and after they started adding weapons and got better oline play I think you are right, Gase can get more out of him as long as the unit plays together and everyone is on the same page.
  14. Last season I couldn't believe how bad we were with the talent on the O. We knew the D would be bad, I didn't think that bad tho. Everything I have heard about the last year confirms what the BIGGEST problem was. Pace brought in a great staff. I wish White was not injured because I would really be excited about our WR corp. We all know what we have with Forte, I like Langford, he was a beast in college. I wonder if they kept Long at OG for the preseason to give GB the least amount of info heading into week one. Maybe our Oline wont be too bad with Long at RT. I will admit I have been pretty down on this upcoming year but Im glad to hear others thinking positive. You never know the ball may bounce our way this year. We are sure due!!!
  15. Marty backing Cutler as a captain tells all. He doesn't hold back his thoughts.
  16. I get that the talent level is not where it needs to be but with the Offenses talent last year look how bad the coaching effected the offenses production. Can the same be said for the D. Lots of guys on here were not happy with Tucker being hired to be the DC. Our Sp Team coach sucked too. Maybe Im just trying to get myself pumped up for this year but I think the Bears could be better then expected with this Coaching staff.
  17. I said it and a lot of others said it, the Bears were way to predictable last year. I remember being at the games calling out plays before the snap. I was drunk to boot. http://www.csnchicago.com/bears/bears-mart...ense-empowering From the article : “At first [the Trestman offense] was difficult to learn but after you got it, it pretty much was what it was, no changes week to week,” Bennett said. “We ran the same offense no matter what… . Last year we ran the same stuff no matter what. It was predictable. If it was third down and the down-and-distance was something, I could call a play before it came in.
  18. After reading your post I had another thought that goes along with yours about players progressing during the game. Im hoping to see the Cocahing staff adjust to what the Pack is doing. Half time adjustments. I read an article were Marty stated that Trestman was so predictable and would not change. He said something along the lines that depending on the down and distance Marty knew what play would be called before the play was sent it in. Ill try to find it. I said it last year as many others did too, the Bears were way to predictable and in game adjustments did not happen. Im hoping for our sake the poor coaching was a big reason we sucked so bad.
  19. Agreed, just posted something similar and had not read this one yet.
  20. I think you hit the nail on the head with the playoffs. If the Bears were closer to being a playoff team then I would say yes. At this point we don't know what the Bears have, most don't think we are playoff bound. Getting younger players reps will help in the long run. Also Royal and Welker are very similar WR types.
  21. Tom Brady looked OK with the 12.5 PSI footballs. It was raining to boot. They did have a fumble which they didn't lose. The player that fumbled is a new player to the Pats so it doesn't do much for comparing stats for player fumbles pre PSI and after PSI. Either way Im sure the rain had more influence on the fumble than the PSI or just the violent nature of the game.
  22. My 10 Keys to the Bears winning 1. GB having very little tape on the Bears new O and D (even tho Im sure they just watched Den and San Fran tape) 2. Gase being worthy of all the hype 3. Bears running the ball to set up the pass 4. Cutler doing exactly what he did in the preseason 5. Fangio being a huge upgrade over Tucker 6. A pissed off D that gets after the QB 7. Long dominates at RT 8. Alshon is able to play at a high level 9. Special Teams plays better then last year 10. A little luck, the ball hasn't bounced the Bears way in a long time..... Would love to see our Beloved get a couple of bounces this year
  23. He will never learn how to keep his mouth shut........I wasn't happy he got traded but I am starting to be ok with it. The topic BM brought up is so stupid I cant even bring myself to respond to it.
  24. Losing Nelson hurts. If Cobb is hurt or slowed down that will really help. Rodgers will be fine, he makes it very easy for WR's to be successful. James Jones just resigned, he had 14 TD"s while playing with Rodger one year, he knows the offense it wont take long to get him going.
