670 pass attempts to 485 for the Bears. I think we can agree Webb looks the worst in pass coverage, probably got most of his penalties on pass plays.

Either way you look at it progression doesn't mean he is good. He went from horrible to god awful his second season and to complete shit in his third year. Great progression!! So do you think Webb is better than Brushrod? I wonder how many pass attempts NO had compared to the Bears??

It's not false, I said you are the only Webb supporter I know. I don't remember anyone else saying Webb was good in that thread. Either way you can't say he progressed just because he gave up less sacks in the last year. There is way more that goes into determining if a player has gotten better.

I cant speak about all the dumb little comments or no real rebuttals. The only one I was involved in was the Webb didn't give up a sack for 8 or 9 games, which would mean he doesn't suck. First I have tried to find this stat and have not found it. Not sure if it is true. Second this really isn't a stat that can qualify him as being good. There is no way to tell if someone is good by saying they didn't give up a sack for 8 or 9 games. We would have to watch every game to see how many times he was called for a penalty, how many times he was lazy on a play, how many times he missed a block or assignment, how many times he got flat out beat, how many times he almost got Cutler killed, how many times Cutler ran for his life because Webb didn't sustain a block. Cutler ran for his life a lot last year, helping the Bears oline not get credited with a sack when they should have. Culter also held onto the ball too long in some cases getting the oline credited with the sack. At the end of the day you are the only person I have ever come across that says Webb does not suck. I think it is pretty fair to say getting roasted for thinking Webb is good is not to far off, and I don't really think you got roasted. Either way its a different point of view and Im glad you post on this board. Hope you don't quit. I personally think the banter is funny and a cool part of a forum board. If I say I think Webb is good and someone asks if I'm his boyfriend, I would laugh. The way I see it, we are all here to talk about a team that we all love. When my friends and I are sitting around bullshitting about sports in general the names and insults are 100% worse then what I have read on here. Just read that Webb over his starting tenure was the most penalized player in the NFL. Maybe he didn't give a sack up for an 8 game strech but there are many ways to suck.

I keep watching the replay of that hit, I don't see it. I don't get how this should be a fine. That is perfect tackling form. It is the way I was taught. It didn't look like helmet to helmet to me. Roger is really screwing this up. I hope the NFLPA starts to fight these fines that are so close. If its clearly a helmet to helmet hit then fine them but when its this close there should not be fines. If players start to duck their heads at the last second to avoid a fine and hurt themselves then what????

All most all of the salary is paid each week of the season. I'm Pretty sure the fine won't be paid until the season starts

I may have to sell my season tickets before roger Goodell turns this game into flag football and my PSL is worth nothing. I don't get it. All these players know what the risks are to playing football. I played, career was ended by an injury. Even tho I have problems now and know its going to get worse as I get older I wouldn't trade it for the world. Playing football in college and highschool is one of the best parts of my life.,if I could have made the NFL I would have played knowing the risk of injury. I blame the older players filing all these lawsuits. They see how big the money is now and feel they are entitled to a cut.

Maybe he has the natural talent to be good, but so far he has not shown it. Rex grossman won player of the month back in 2006. He tore it up. I thought the Bears O was going to be crazy good that year. After that month his play went to shit. We still made it to the SB but largely due to a D and good run game. So I guess my point is a player can play well or even great for a short amount of time and it doesn't mean they are actually good. I personally do not remember Webb ever playing well. New offense, nothing to be worried about just yet. The entire offense needs to make as many mistakes now so that they can learn from them now and fix before the regular season.

I never said he didn't do anything right, I loved the trade for Cutler and Peppers signing. I liked the Olsen(great value for a late 1st round pick). My big problem is the number of misses. Especially in the first three rounds. The misses were all to common, one example is the guy who could jump out of a pool. 3rd round pick that could have been used better. Dan Bazuin another total flop that never played a down for the Bears. Chris Williams, Mark Bradley, Michael Haynes, Rex Grossman, Marc Colombo, David Terrel Another huge area of shitting the bed was never addressing the Oline. If they could have protected Cutler better maybe the horse shit O would not have been so horse shit.

I agree with this. Lovie had to go. I think if you look deeper into the whole situation the blame for firing Lovie goes on Lovie for never figuring out the O and JA. You can not shit the bed on so many draft picks and sustain a franchise. Had some of JA's draft picks panned out maybe the O would not have sucked so bad.
