TERRA where are you????? Maybe a little crow is deserved! SMC has not played to the level of a first round darft pick yet. I still think if he adds some more strength he could be a pretty good DE. Is he better suited for a 3-4, yes but with his speed and hustle he could play well at DE. He did come out of a soft conference in college where not having top end strength could be hidden by speed. I thought we would have seen a big jump from last year to this year, maybe one more year of adding strength will get him to the level we hoped for.

I agree, get him the rock. The Bears have the weapons to be really great. I figured the O would go through some growing pains this season. I had hoped the O was hitting full steam by this week. Cutty being out really was disappointing as I would have liked to see him play well against the Pack. With Cutty back against the Loins I hope they get Forte going early and often against the Lions. With nine weeks under the O's belt we should start to see some big improvements in the consistency department.

I agree with you.... You can't compare Cutler to a Honda Accord. An Accord can't do the things top end cars like Ferrari can do. Cutler has shown he can make every throw and then some. I would compare Cutler to a old muscle car, when he is ON he is ON. When he is off he is way off.

I find it hard to believe that Emery and Trestman have made that decision already, if by the end of the season this offense is unstoppable you couldn't walk away from Cutler. If Cutler is still playing at the same level as the first 5 weeks I see it being a possibility. All tho Cutler's stats from the first 5 weeks all looked really good except for the INT's. I also agree with a previous post, if they are going not resign Cutler you cant wait till the third round to draft a QB. Knowing my luck we will draft Manzel..... Guy is good but I think he is a total douche bag.

For the Bears to win any of the next three games Forte is going to have to play lights out. Make them stack the box and hopefully McCown can take advantage of some mismatches. We still have Marshal, Jeffery and the Black Unicorn. These guys pose considerable match up problems for any Defense. You know GB will throw everything and the kitchen sink at McCown. Detroit got a lot of pressure in our first game against them. The ravens still can play D. St Louis is now with out Bradford so we should have a shot at beating them. Im hoping to see a better performance then Caleb Hanie for two reasons, one the bears have a lot more weapons now and two the oline has performed 20 times better then last year. There was only so much Cutler could do with a a shitty scheme, shitty oline and one real WR. What do you expect a backup to do with that. I expect to see a better showing by the offense with a backup QB in this year. The say goes, any given sunday. GB has most of there WR's out, their TE out and Clay Matthews out. Biggest problem is they still have Rodgers tho. Det should be almost 100% so that is not good. The ravens cant move the ball, Flacco was not worth the 120 they gave him(still laughing at that one, Ozzie has proved to be a great GM but giving Flacco that much money will prove to be his worst move ever). Briggs injury sucks, but the Cutler injury is far worse in my opinion. With Briggs we know what he brings to the table, there is no question about him. With Cutler this is the biggest year of his career for him and the Bears. Phil and Trest need to see if he is the QB of the future. Part of me thinks Trest has seen enough with games and practice to know which one it is. I have been impressed with Cutler this year considering he is in a new system again. Ill be praying it is only 4 weeks and Cutler isn't hampered after he comes back. The Bears seem to have the worst luck with shit like this. We need help at oline so we draft Colombo he get hurt. Same with Carmi and Williams. We trade a 2nd for the DE from Tampa and he passes away. We finally get a high draft pick and we draft Benson who is an ass bag, leaves for Cincy and was a decent back for them. Can we catch a break!!!!

I do not think he was very good at the college level, I was very happy when the Vikings used a 1st to pick him. He hasn't done anything in the NFL but looks like hot crap. I'm with Connor, draft a guy Trestman likes and groom from within.

The D looks like shit because of injuries. Its being down Melton, Paea, Collins, Tillman and Hayden. Hopefully Tillman is only missing this game. How long is Paea suppose to be out? The D line needs help and quick. Is Peppers hurt or not? If he is not hurt then he aged 5 years in one off season. When you get hit with the injury bug good teams find a way to win bad teams don't, I don't care what you say a Win is Win is a Win. The year the Pack won the superbowl they were hit hard by injuries. Not saying we are superbowl bound just that good teams find ways to win no matter what.

I agree, primetime everyone is watching it would be nice for the Offense to go out there and put on a show. Trestman was put in place to right the O. The O should be getting better each week. Its time for the O to start showing it can do it for 4 quarters.

Forte should move into number 2 all time rushing by the end of this season as well.

Cutler and O are only going to get better as the season goes on. He does have more weapons this year. The 3 biggest area's of concern 1. Reading the D, Jay is not picking up Blitzes. NO showed blitz a couple of times in the first half and he never picked up on it. 2. The "Bad Jay" throws. When you watch a guy like Drew Breese you rarely see him make the WTF was he doing throw. There was one pass against NO that should have been picked off, Marshal was running up the sideline, Cutler threw it off his back foot which lead to it being underthrown. Marshal had a step, had Cutler stepped into the throw and lead him, that could have been a big play. 3. Putting it together for 4 quarters. The O has gotten off to fast starts then stalled and then came back strong at the end. They have gotten off to shitty starts and then came back strong at the end of the game. I would like to see them put on a good showing for 4 quarters. Would be nice to see some pressure taken off the Bears D. Im hoping Trestman keeps getting Cutler to improve, if so he should improve all of these numbers while throwing less INT's.

I wanted the Bears to draft him in the first that year. Couldn't believe we got him in the 2nd. One of Emery's best pick. It does help that NO doubled Marshal a lot.

Nix is a beast. I watch him every Saturday. I was expecting more out of him this year, been good I just thought he would dominate. I have read that he may stay to get his degree(that is the talk on the ND board im a member of), his mother really wants him to finish school before leaving. That ND degree comes in handy after football is done. Who knows if he stays. I think its a pretty good lock that Tuitt will declare, only thing is he has been pretty quite this year due to some nagging injuries. If his draft stock isn't high enough maybe he stays too. I would be happy with either of these guys.

Didn't even think about the Kromer aspect of this game. That should help out a lot. Hope the players are up to the task to stopping these guys. Their O is playing really well right now.

My grading was really on what he did to the offense and with the hiring of Trestman. The offense really only has Cutler, Forte and Garza from the old regime. If I were to grade on the entire time he has been here it would not be a A+. I didn't love his first draft but I didn't hate it either. 2012 I hope McCellin turns out, added weight and strength will be crucial, didn't love this pick but didn't hate it either. Loved the Alshon pick, I almost wanted him in the first. Hardin, I liked the pro day results but didn't really love this pick. To be a top contender you have to really draft well in the first three rounds every year. Especially the first two rounds. Right now we know Hardin was a bust or not a good pick 2013 Long looks to be a beast Bostic looks like he has big play potential Greene - I liked what I saw from him in preseason Mills- starting at right tackle, great 4th round pick so far Second draft for Emery is already looking better than the first draft. I'll give Emery the benefit of the doubt on the first draft being that it was his first time running the war room. The more Im really excited with where this team is heading. I hope Emery and Trestman keep it up. The D is going to need some retooling fast, hope Emery has a plan.

Totally forgot about the segment about how quick Cutler is getting rid of the ball, that was really insane how big a difference there was. That has a lot to do with Cutler taking the coaching and the system which all comes from Trestman and then Kromer and who ever the qb coach is. Quick throws is a great way to get Cutler in a groove and build some confidence that the oline is going to give him some time. They talked about this on 670. it looks likes Cutler believes in this system or has bought in. That is huge. You are right about Trestman in Canada, the stat is something crazy like 60 to 70 sacks the year before and then it was down to 10 to 20 his first year. Don't quote me on that whatever the number was it was a huge drop.

Cutler looks totally different dropping back and planting from last few years to this year, even when there is pressure he seems to be more confident. This is only week three, the more reps and more plays that go into the play book this O should only get better. Dumping off to Forte has been great. Take what the D gives us. Im really excited to see where this O goes. With our D we should be in every game, if the O is able to keep getting better this should be awesome to watch. I'm liking what I'm seeing from the Offense, especially with the way they have started. They seem to get off to a good start and then get conservative, then pick it back up in the fourth. They need to learn how to keep their foot on the necks of these D's. Offenses will stall at some point of a game, Im just hoping they stop stalling for so long. If we had to grade Emery right now, I would give him an A+ for what he did with the O's personnel and the hiring of Trestman and company. I know its early but this grade goes on what Ive seen these last three weeks. Worst case we finish the first quarter of the season at 3-1, best case 4-0. Beginning this season this is better than what I would have asked for. New coach, new system I really didn't know what to expect. Is Trestman really the QB Whisperer??? lol
