Trestman has backed Tucker a couple of times this year saying he has done a great job, even with all the injuries. I dont think he will be fired

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...e-tag-an-option I remember someone questioning if Jay has bought in. Here is a part of this article that kind of talks about it. “I’ve said it before: I’m convinced that Jay is a franchise quarterback,” Emery said. “The rest of that as far as where we are going in the future, we’ll work out that in the offseason. Certainly I’m pleased with Jay. I think he’s grown in certain areas. When he’s been healthy and been on the field this year, he’s been playing at his highest level ever during the course of his career. "I think he’s improved in the leadership area. I think his demeanor has improved. I think the time off made him appreciate the great coaches that we have. He’s told me that our coaches are on fire with their game-planning, execution and getting guys ready to play. The last three games that he played when healthy from start to finish, he’s been over 100.0 in passer-rating. So we see a lot of good things out of Jay.” I would say it sounds as if Jay has bought in to Trestman and company.

I would love for the Bears to just handle this on their own. Beat the next two teams and enter the Playoffs on a high note. Briggs is back, Ratlif is helping on the Dline and our O should be able to torch both these teams. Wouldn't it be great to beat the Pack at home taking away their Playoffs hopes while the City of Det and organization watch. ITs Xmas and all but freak THEM ALL!!!!

http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/...ts-house-losses The Packers have always been my most hated team. The Lions in the last two years have taken their seat at the top of my most hated teams. Stating with their Coach, i think he is a complete douche. He is probably a big reason why they underachieve. Suh, is the biggest tool bag in the NFL. I hope the Bears never have a chance to sign him, it would be hard to root for him not matter how good he is. The Lion fans are a big group of assholes. I cant stand being anywhere near them at the games. most of them have no clue about football. I have not had any good experiences around Lions fans. Most packer fans I know at least know the game of football. They may be blinded by the chesse but they are not classless dumbassess! I really hope the Lions lose both remaining games.

Guys, I have to admit something.... I'm in the championship and I got McCoy and Jackson. $600 bucks on the line. I need points. But a Bear win is always more important. I'm freakin torn. May sit them!!
-
I love it!!!! Who would have ever thought the Bears would have a top 10 O and bottom of the barrel D!!! Anything can happen!!!
-
I read yesterday that he has not recovered as well as they had hoped to this point and because of the recovery timeline he wont be able to play in the playoffs.

Talk about pressure!!!! 1. Contract year 2. Back up playing lights out while on the bench due to injury 3. Reports saying some players on the D were not happy Cutler was starting 4. Ravens just handed the Bears the keys to the driver seat, win two games and you are in 5. things could pan out to the last game of the season will determine who's in and who's out, against our most hated rival Packers 6. Similar stories, Rodgers and Cutler both out for extended time both come back to lead their teams to the playoff The Eagles just lost to the Vikings without AP, we barely lost to the Vikings. The Bears D can not stop the run, the Eagles have the best rushing attack. This is setting up to be a shoot out, Cutler has typically sucked against the Packers. Will Trestman's work with Cutler change that? If Cutler wants to shut up all the haters he now has a golden opportunity to shut them all up!!! I will be praying he does.

Just talked about that same fact over lunch with some fellow Bear fans. I always thought Campbell sucked, couldn't believe they paid him that.

A. The offense is now hitting stride, something that would take time, not expected at the beginning of the season. They have seen what McCown could do with the beasts that the Bears have and now need to see what Cutler can do. B. Goes with A, the Bears are going to be making a huge decision this off season. They need as much game film on Cutler to make the best decision. C. IF they can get Cutler to be whole game Jay and not 4th quarter Jay we could have one of the best O's in the league. His stats are so different in the 2nd and 3rd compared to the 1st and 4th quarters. Trestman has seen everything when it comes to Jay, practice, film study and games. He knows what was called on each play, when Jay made a bad decision or bad throw or when the WR screwed up. He has the best or most insight on Jay. If Trestman already knows that he can take Jay to the Elite level then there is no doubt Jay starts when he is healthy. Kind of like Aaron Rodgers, it doesn't matter how good Flynn looks when Aaron is healthy he is starting. Not saying Jay is on the level of Aaron but if Trestman thinks he can get there then you go with Jay no matter what.

We need Det to lose more then anything. Win two more and we are in! I'm drinking the Kool Aid!!!! Cutler dominates and get us in!!!
-
Was he perfect, no but looked great at times and rusty at times..
-
Well we hopefully will get the answer to the big question. Is the Cutler going to get that long contract? If he dominates I would think he gets a pretty good contract. If he plays like shit Im not sure what would happen. If he plays decent then I would lean to the Tag. Three options: 1. He dominates the rest of the games 2. Plays decent or a little better then the beginning of the season 3. Looks like crap, almost Cutler in the Lovie era (which im not sure is possible) What do you guys think will play out with each option?

Couple of things I would like your thoughts on
Chitownhustla replied to Chitownhustla's topic in Bearstalk
It's the internet, I can play the what it game if I want. lol One of the reasons I wrote that is because people, not all people say Cutler throws balls he should not too often. McCown threw three Cutler type balls. You don't hear anyone saying this because they were flat out dropped. I understand every QB is going to throw a ball they shouldn't, Cutler a little more then the best. Cutler gets lucky every once and awhile but also very unlucky at times. A lot of people are freaking out about McCowns performance. If you look at the tape he threw about 3 or 4 "Cutler type balls" About the same as Cutler this year per game. -
First, Mondays game was awesome. Seeing our offense do what they did was crazy. Reminded me of the first 5 weeks of 2005 when Great Rex was showing up. Couple of thoughts tho 1. I expected the Offense to hit this type of stride come week 8 or 9. New Coach, system, oline. It takes time for a offense to gel. Do you think if Cutler had not got hurt would his numbers be even better then McCown? 2. Trying not to drink the kool aid too much, they did look great against The Cowboys, the Cowboys D is horrible. Everyone is craving them up. 3. Had McCown not been lucky this game could have been very different. Had two INT's dropped, taking two scores away and a 3rd called back on Pass Interference another score taken away. I think BM would have caught that one tho had he not been raped.
-
I agree, I wrote that more as a view that you can't say Emery can't evaluate Defensive talent due to the horrid D play this year. The Bears have had some key Defensive players go down this year.
-
I completely agree, run the freakin ball until they stop you and you have no more downs left. As far as worrying about a fumble or penalty, isnt that what a coach is suppose to do, tell them to not freak up and get more yards. I would like to see the stats on Robby at 30-40 compared to 45+..
-
Melton Briggs Collins Williams Tillman All of these guys are out. The D would look completely different with three Pro Bowlers added. Peppers looked great this past weekend. With Peppers playing like that, you add these guys and our D wouldnt be so bad. Shit they may be pretty damn good. I really hope Cutler comes back and puts on a show. I dont want to go into next season needing to find a QB while having so many holes on D.
-
Jason, I get that the play made you mad and Shea over pursued. At the end of the day the play was designed as a misdirection. It was designed to get Shea moving in the wrong direction. With Tavon's speed Im not sure if Shea had stayed home he would have came up with a stop. I don't think he is stupid or a bad teammate, just a DE that took one or two steps in the wrong direction. There are not many players in the NFL that have the type of speed to make that play work.

is anyone worried about losing twice to the lions
Chitownhustla replied to 50england50's topic in Bearstalk
The Lions have skyrocketed to the top of my most hated list. HATE= 1. Most of their players, SUH is a piece of shit it would be hard for me to root for him if ever signed to the Bears, even Stafford...cut your hair do something to not look like a stoned hippie all the time. 2. Head coach is a complete douche bag. 3. Fans, the last two home games against the Lions i have had the pleasure of sitting by some real classy Lion fans. Both times fights almost broke out, last years game I wish i wouldnt have stopped the Bears fan that went after the two Lions fans that were being out of line they deserved to get their ass beat. Their fans showed how little they know about football, how to be complete douche bags..I know Philly and Steeler fans are some of the worst, Lion fans are getting up their. Maybe its because they have won anything and thats why they the fans suck so bad. I really hope the Lions shit the Bed again. -
lol!!!!!

Our Dline has been hit hard this year with injuries. This sucks for the team and SMC, it would have been great for him to put two great games back to back. Hoping for a Cutler like recovery!! lol

Offensive/Defensive Statistics through 8 games
Chitownhustla replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Bearstalk
I am really hoping Cutler plays his ass off the rest of the season. If the Bears have the O locked in for a couple of years Emery can add to the D. Looking at the D its clear the injuries have something to do with it, but that does not change the fact they need to get younger on D quick. Sucks the Conte and Wright seem to have gotten worse. It would help a lot if they didn't need to upgrade both those spots as well.
