  1. I am speaking from the point of view that the bears think Swift is a good RB and are just seeking a complement choice. Most people think we need a Jeanty or Hampton, I think the bears don't think that.
  2. I listen to Dane Brugler on a podcast and he was talking about RBs. He thinks 2 will go in the first round and maybe 2 in the second. That most teams will wait until the 3rd and 4th round to get RBs. That could leave lots of good choices at 72. Jeanty - Hampton then Johnson and Henderson in the second. 72- Judkins -Skattebo- Brashard Smith - Tuten I would say we wait until the third round to get a RB.
  3. I'm trying to find it but I read where one of these Edge players didn't have very many sacks but had 53 pressures. I'm thinking it was Pierce, buy can't find the article. It could have been Williams.
  4. If the GMs get nervous, maybe 3 QBs go in the top 9. No matter how it drops we're getting a good player.
  5. Great article, I like the ones that give you NFL comparison to give a better idea of the player. Interesting that Membou/ Darnell Wright. Ersery/ Orlando Brown Conerly/ Slater Banks/ Vera-Tucker Vera-Tucker is playing RG for the Jets, I find that odd.
  6. There is only 2 days left for pre draft visits . Aaron lemmings has 29 players listed for visits. He has no first round OTs unless Conerly slips to the first round. Does this mean we are not taking a OL at 10? It's possible, but if I'm reading the tea leafes, it's saying no.
  7. We should have the best opportunity to draft the second best edge in the draft. That's a priority position. Is that the common sense pick? I don't consider Walker an edge ( LB) but many do. DT, RB and TE have depth so the second round could still get good players there. Many project 6 pass rushers to go in the first round. LT is another upgrade position but prospects that fit Poles criteria are there in 2nd or 3rd. Banks and Simmons are the only 2 first round picks that fit LT. Doubt he picks an injured player 2 years in a row so if they deem Banks a blue chip LT, he may be there pick.
  8. Definitely want one. He goes in the first round. Does anyone think they would take him at 10?
  9. That was DABEARSDABOMB that said that. I don't think that at all.
  10. With every player we have talked about to nauseum, watch it , a surprise of someone we haven't discussed. Will Johnson, Matt Golden, Tyleik Williams
  11. Hard to read what they want to do. Greg Gabriel said they finalized their draft board by Sunday. The next 10 days will be going over different scenarios as to who they can get and at what point in the draft.Meetings with scouts going over tweaking the board.
  12. I agree with the players in the top 10 that are gone. Mine ( no particular order) Warren ( another weapon) Javon Walker ( he's supposed to be one of the blue chip players, Allen with use as a blitzer, edge, rover) Kenneth Grant ( Billings last year contract- Jarrett older) Akim Hicks player comparison
  13. I'll have to look back at all the contracts, aren't they aligned with the Caleb time line?
  14. You are correct, Johnson will mold the players he has but he gets the chance to add a piece to fit exactly what he wants to do. Whether Jeanty, Warren or a long shot Mathew Golden. If he sees the OL as a weakness he will want an LT, or another pass rusher on defense. Most everyone has ignored the position but we could take a shut down corner at 10 also. I think it will be at a premium position LT - Edge -RB-CB ( TE or WR) to a lesser degree. Him and Poles both talked about their first 4 picks were going to be looked at as a group pick. What is the best option at each spot to maximize their draft . Can you get a quality edge at 10 or 39 or 41-72? RB, DT LT, ect. TE, RB and DT are deep so later rounds make sense. LT and DE are not.
  15. I'm not trying to trash him, I would love watching him. I just don't think the bears are going to draft him at 10. If he is available to them, I can see Poles choosing multiple picks in return. If we still didn't have several holes to fill, it would change the situation a lot. I think 2 players away from a competent defense. We need another weapon or two to maximize Johnson's offense. AND the OL needs more depth and a LT if that's a priority to you. I think we are one year away from adding a Warren or Jeanty to our lineup for final touches to a SB run. I could be off big time on my reasoning and 6 different positions could be our pick at 10.
  16. Poles signing look like big contracts and then 1 yr later they look like bargains. Say what you want about player evaluations but he is managing the cap well.
  17. I would like Hendrickson, Parsons, Crosby but the problem is , they come with 30+ extensions of which we don't have. Just draft one in the first and third and hope one of them gives you 10+ every year on cheap contracts.
  18. I have to disagree, Johnson talked about weapons. Using several different backs challenges the defense more, keeps them off balance. In 2023 lions could have had BJan Robinson, instead they traded back and took Gibbs. Johnson was asked about that, and he said , we wanted weapons. I think they do want a pounder to use late in games as they have Montgomery, several could fill that role. I forget to mention before Damien Martinez as a RB that fits. Watch his tape, he runs over people. As much as Jeanty would be a great addition, he is not getting 90% of the carries in Johnson's offense. Of which I think drafting him at 10 is unlikely. Last year, Montgomery had 185 carries and Gibbs had 250. For comparison Bjan Robinson had 304 carries.
  19. I didn't see this so I posted a separate post for it, not trying to supercede your news.
  20. A no brainer just got done. It seems that Poles is making the right choices all the time. Let Jenkins leave Resign Gordon Let Allen leave
  21. Obviously Jeanty is the stud RB in the draft but several that would be a fit on our team. I think he wants a power back for short yardage or a burner to go with Swift. Johnson, Hampton, Judkins and Cam Skattebo fit that mold. Speed would be Tuten, Brashard Smith and Jayden Blue. They're several others that would be good picks in this draft. I just don't think he goes Jeanty ( if available) in the first round. I'm intrigued by Cam Skattebo and probably could get him in the third round. He smacks people.
  22. I agree with that. Many big name RBs don't get second contracts mainly before they want big money. Giants ( bad) balked on his 5th year that perpetuated him leaving.
  23. I do mocks every day ( I'm a dreamer) and many of those names pop up all the time. I think if they take a second RB it would be someone like Jayden Blue that has true speed and have never heard of the WR before.
  24. The article says his main position is LB yet in 2024 694 snaps were at DE, 30th in the league? Would Allen use someone like Pierce like this?
