All the pieces are now in place here thru 2027. That is how you fix the OL.

I try not to mention rumors but I think 99% of them are BS but here a few I am trying to verify. I have seen several posts on social media that we are talking about TRADING FOR TROY HENDRICKSON. I think it is BS, Cincy is not close to signing him so it is possible and the longer they go without a contract says the price is coming down. Now a 2 but may drop to a 3. This price would be doable but my big concern is THEY are not going to fit the 40 mil contract into our Cap situation. (we are surgically) building the roster. We paid Sweat and game Odeyingbo a 48 mil contract. We have some prospects behind them (Austin Booker, Daniel Hardy) . We have some DL flexable to possibliy use Shemar Turner or Dexter out their in roles. This is still short on talent but when training camp start there will some vets cut that we could add to the roster. Also DaZarius Smith and Matt Judon are still available. One rumor I seen today was the Bears and Thuney are CLOSE TO SIGNING AN EXTENTION , I could easily predict that as we get closer to OTAs because Poles said they were working on it.

Firing coaches mid season and paying big bucks for the top coach available clearly show moving on from the McCaskey curse.

My two favorite current Bears personalities are Wanny and Olin. The Bear brass has always been the hidden vilian in my Bears watching history but that has changed now. It startered with Poles coming in and appears to had some restrictions but when they hired Warren, like AZ said, he is now the buffer to block George and the family. We have seen things slowly sort out. Poles has some blame in the build but is now past that with hiring BJ and drafting Caleb. I think he was influenced into hiring Flus and to work it out with Fields that just wasnt working. In all of this, he has managed the cap and did a good job of roster building. Mistakes along the way but show me a perfect GM? We are at a place we should have been last year but now it doesnt matter. The ducks are aligning to not just have a winning season but something a little more. We are gun shy because of the history of the Bears but its time to let that go. We have our franchise QB (IMO) the creative offensive guru and leader. I think the other coaches hired with him are a windfall. Many HCs in the future. We nitpick on a few positions when the overall talent lever is very good. LT-RB-EDGE but we are not void of talent there just not obvious at this point. I think we are ready to take off w/o the normal chatter of we have to grow together. We have BJ and Caleb, Houston did it with a lesser talented coach in 2023 and Washington did it with a lesser roster last year. WHY NOT US?

The story was, he didnt want to play for the Bears Yes it is malpractice, old story / new context
-
The WR group isnt impressive because they didnt have any great QBs and we were a D first and running team.
-
The reason Kyle wasnt given any credit was because he was a 7th round pick. If we had drafted him in the 4th or 5th, no one would have looked down on the pick. He was the best RB in the big 10 for 2 years. Henderson and Junkins got more credit because they are good and played for OSU. Rutgers had a lousy passing game so he had to run against 8 and 9 in a box every carry. He could easily be the surprise of the whole draft.

The quote was (at times) he watched film by himself. If a player goes in on his own time and watches film, I would say cudos to Caleb for putting extra work in. Every position group watches film of the game with their coaches after games. It was not stated (never).
-
Lots of offensive records will be broke with this group. The first one will be Caleb with passing yards and TDs this year.
-
Every player spends time watching tape on their own. It is a statement that gives you a chance to think, coaching never worked with him which we know is not true. What is shows is the dysfunction that was noticable when the *hit storm hit after the Washington game. I watched a bunch of game highlights from last year and we were competitive in a lot of games , while in the middle of the storm. We are underestimating what this team is capable of. My expections are much higher now with what Caleb is capable of with good coaching and a much better OL. Add DA and a more aggresive D and Caleb will be closer to 5000 yards than 4000. THIS IS NOT THE SAME OLD BEARS, we're just gun shy becauses of such a gloomy past.

I have seen this video but never clicked on it but I like when insight is provided in places I wouldnt look. It would be nice to see Bagent get playing time to see where he is at in development but that would mean Caleb is hurt and that wouldnt be good. I have been posting videos where you here maybe a little different outlook on things we talk about everyday. I can see Dexter showing up mainly because he is working hard to get where he needs to go. When Akiem Hicks came here he had runs in NO and NE and then he got here and was a force for a few years. If players work hard it pays dividends.
-
I think this all blows over if he is working hard and aligns with BJ. Last year was a train wreck for everyone on the team and a lot of players wont admit it but quit on the coach. Its a fresh start for everyone and I dont think any of the leaders on the team are going to question him. He had things stacked against him and his performance has some accountablity. The remedy to everything last year is winning and I expect that to happen.People focus on what, in their opinion, we might be missing. This does not have to be a perfect team to be successful. At worst we will get average play from who ever plays LT. We will find enough of a pass rush with people on the team. I think the depth is better that most people assume it is. LB,S,OL,DL

I'll take that.

With everything we have done, now Caleb has to perform. The season will go on how well he moves forward in his second year.
-
Totally, he mainly had a problem with Waldron of which he knew before at some QB camp. He's gone, poblem solved.
-
I get he liked O'Connell over Flus and Waldron. That just means he has a high football IQ. I heard interviews where he finally bought in when he came to Hallas Hall and seen the facuilities and spent time with Ian and Ryan. Then Poles when out and got him BJ and added to the offense. All Good

As much as I should be cautious on my expectations, Houston ,2 yrs ago, and Wash last year both were in our lane and came out smelling like a rose. I think we have better rosters than they did. It hasnt happened yet but out franchised QB has a higher ceiling than both of the other QBs. Remains to be seen.
-
Today everyone is saying 9-8 or 8-9. We are in the same lane we were last year when we upgraded the roster and drafted a franchise QB. After the OL failed, coaching failed and Caleb didnt live up to his billing, we're in the same place again? Even with the failures we could have won 9 or 10 games. This is not the same. Our franchise QB should take a giant leap forward, coaching is the best that was available last year. AND we upgraded the roster, again. Most fans have PDS, they are afraid to keep jumping on the Bears band wagon. I think 11 sounds right but if BJ, DA, and Caleb are what we think they are, easliy over 10 wins. last year we played Vikings close but lost. BJ beat the Vikings twice. The first game will not be easy but should be a win. Im a glass half full type but the glass is almost full, hard to screw that up.

What's the record going to be when we have the bye week? I say 3-1
-
You always quailfy (he's a good player but). Making statements like ( he hasnt proven himself) doesnt make sense. (Cant seperate) doesnt make sense. he played well enough to get a good contract. You make it sound like last year is his only window. . He had a very good year in 2023. It was not his fault he didnt get targets. He is not going to play the inline TE position is not a finite statement. Count the snaps this year. It wont even be 10%. You make it like if he plays one play there, I was totally wrong. Its a general statement.
-
40 TEs are in the league that can make those two catches (NOT)

So has the first game of the year info been released? I didnt see that.
