Simply the book is a non story.

1) I watched 5 CC interviews and never does she say King told her they were takng Banks if he was there. Im on her X account and cant find that statement. Point being every interview I have seen, its always her opinion they were trading up for Jeanty (to expensive)or going to take Campbell or Banks. The interview with King only said they were interested in 3 other top 10 draft picks. I have no problem with her opinion many people made those statements but there was never an insider saying they were doing that. That doesnt make her a liar. Every interview she gave before the draft was talk about RBs, LT and DT. Every interview she has stated this is a BJ driven draft. 2) Of course it matters who's there. Last year Poles was willing to trade a few spots to get Odunze and Cunningham told him to be patient. So if they want someone they would trade at least a few spots to get them. Any team would want Jeanty so the thought they might traded for him was always in play. but with with Banks at 9, nothing. I think they targeted Loveland. Another indicator was BJ played a Colston highlight film before the first round to the rest of the war room. I think they had intentions of always trading one of the 2 2nd rounds picks because of several positions to address. So they may have wanted Henderson but didnt trade a few spots to get him. They seen Bruden available and decided he was worth keeping on that pick and took what they could get with 41 to still add a OT and DL, both they deemed needs. They had to know chances are Ersery not being there at 56, he went at 48. Between 41 and 56 4 edge players, 2 DT, and 2 LTs went off the board. I think when they traded back they had both Ozzy and Shemar on their radar and got who they wanted. Just as easy to say they got who they targeted instead they misjudged the board. C Cant say about any of the other picks but I think they got 3 of what they planned to get with the first 4 picks. Burden was the outlier, being available they went to plan B or even C with getting a RB, they passed on Henderson with what would have been an easy trade if they wanted him. They liked Bruden better. In round 4 , Scattabo went at 105 and they easily could have moved up to get him but instead moved back because they got a couple players available they wanted. In the 7th round I think they maybe liked either Brashard Smith or Damien Martinez but went before their pick. Monangai was available and that's who they ended up with. We have no way of knowing of how they ranked their RBs , Kyle may have been 4th or 5th on their list. If we go by attention they paid before the draft. 1) Jeanty ( cost to great) 2) Henderson 3) Scattabo 4) Brashard Smith Everyone has an opinion on how the draft should have went, I think they pretty well got the players they wanted. Kyle Monangai will prove valueable. We wont know what is right or wrong for a couple of years.

I read the remarks after the draft, can you show me the video where she states it before the draft? I have seen interviews where Poles talks about all three of those players, of course he liked them, but other than the first pick in the draft no GM is going to broadcast who they are taking. Actually it doesnt matter because they were not available and they didnt move up to take any of them or even talked about that.
-
Since none of them were available, we will never know. After they made the draft pick, the next day BJ said he showed a highlight video before the draft to show a little insight in where they were going with the pick to the war room. At 9.45 . It was Loveland. Through out the draft they seemed like they guess who people were taking and were pretty spot on, so they knew none of those other picks would be there. CC has no inside information other than they liked those players. Im sure they liked Carter and Hunter to but knew they wouldnt be there.
-
You do notice, none of them were juggernaut defenses either.

I like these kind of videos that let you see the backroom of these teams. BJ saying he played the highlight film right before the draft tells me they were targeting Loveland all along. It seems like all the position coaches had a lot of input into the picks. It seems they stayed at 39 when Burden was available and projected the next 2 players they wanted and got them in the trade back. BJ was all in on the picks and obviously he had input into those selections. Eric Beinemy seemed like the only one very excited to get Monangai. I would say they got done what they wanted to in the draft ,at least, they like who they got.

Bears journalists push any noise they here. I have seen many say he needs to address the book release information during the OTAs? He's learning the new offense now, do it when book comes out , screw what the media wants. Nothing in the book matters. He choose here despite the Bears pathetic past. The coaches are gone so why would anyone think that was good for him. The only reason the story lives is because the media keeps bringing it up/

All you can do is now that they have new people in place that they finally stay out of the operations. They paid big money for a coach and with Warren in place I think he shields George from Poles and BJ. Looks different to me.

I see you took your (IDIOT) response down. I guess you thought that didnt make you look good. Instead Novel #57 This is my last Kmet RESPONSE, he is a good player and they are not trading him. I get lost in your answers but I think you said ( they arent trading him) SO WE AGREE

Jason disagrees with me and theses are his responses: Disagree. With the Bears, it’s ALWAYS time to question everything. Until they can prove the organization isn’t a perpetual clusterf**k, everything must be questioned. It definitely looks different, but we’ve seen many years that were different in the offseason/preseason. Way too many what ifs and optimistic lottery tickets. They have to prove it before I start buying jerseys again.\ When you disagree , you write short novels. You say things like( I'm never right,)( I have ridiculous responses, ) (call my opinions nonsense) I dont like you and have no problem being honest about it. You respond with a bullshit answer. Its very visual with your constant attacks on me. You must keep a database on everything I said because you keep bringing old stuff up. You have been wrong on several occassions but I dont keep throwing it in your face, because this is a discussion board and I dont try to make it personal. YOU always go there. Im not sure why you keep attacking me, and I have been wrong on many occassions but Im not going anywhere if that's your endgame. I know you do this and still always try to look like the good guy. YOU'RE NOT

As soon as we drafted Loveland, you have suggested Kmet will be traded. I disagree with that opinion. My opinions are never absolute . It is just what you are reading into my words. I try to guess what the Bears are doing and trading Kmet makes no sense so I say it like its not going to happen and you keep saying (but it could). Of course it is an option but why would they do that? Colston isnt even on the field yet, he could get injuried after he gets back, he could take time to adjust to the NFL. Until BJs offense is up an running there is no way to guess what it will look like. They are not upside down on the Cap, so they are not trading a proven NFL player before or mid season. Next year is a whole set of different circumstances and he may not finish his contract here but that isnt even in their thought process right now. For some reason, if I dont agree with you, you say things like (insulting a member of your family) because I double down on my opinion (just like you) . I showed reasons that this year is different as most say (same old Bears). I am not putting a gun to anyone's head and saying you have to believe what I do. Its okay to have a different opinion. When double down on (they could trade him) I double down on thier not, Why is being optimistic (weird)? (This from the guy who was one of the last to give up on Fields - who didnt want Caleb? ) this comment has nothing to do with this conversation but of course you always take it somewhere else . When we dont trade Kmet, I wont be bringing up how you were wrong about that because IDC

Talking about someone getting traded is just fantasy and not about hurting someones feelings, unless you're refering to yours because the Bears arent going to do that. FF starts in September. Criticizing a team is normal dialuoge, who said it was being disloyal? Looking at a glass half full is also part of fandom.

I've been a Bears fan since 1965. Misery has been my friend to many years. I get the animosity. This year IS different. Ben Johnson-DA-( top position coaches) Caleb Williams (now if you think he could be a bust)? ?-Thumey-Dalman-Jackson-Wright (can anyone say this is not huge upgrades)? Weapons DJ -Rome-Burden-Kmet-Loveland-Swift-Monogai (anyone disagree this is not a big upgrade) Defense had a very good defensive backfield,. above average LBers,.DT added Jarrett, Turner, a healthy Billings, and an improved Dexter DE added Odayingbo, Booker came in 15 lbs heavier, a healthy Sweat. An above average Carlos Santos and Tory Taylor Last year we were about to be 5-2 and a player's brainfart doomed us to a sinking ship with a dysfunctional coach. We should have won 8-9 games but the football Gods abandoned us. If this doesnt look different to you then meet my exfriend MISERY

When he goes from one of the top WRs to a lackluster last year it is fair to question his work ethic, ,maturity, and his love of football. With all the off season investigation they do to vent a prospect, I trust that is it not a problem going forward. George Pickens was a good WR but considered a head case. I think the team choose carefully when they drafted him.

these days are about learning the playbook, making connections with other players and communication between coaches and players. You can see how they move, understanding the process and mental reps. When pads go on, then the dirty works goes in play but this is a valuable part of the process also.
-
He has yet to address this, he is not going around pushing this book. His dad is and the media are. Any talk of not wanting to not play for the Bears was very early in the process and when he met Poles at Hallas Hall, he bought into playing here. This is a nonstory because he doesnt feel that way now. This is media blowing everything up. Him watching tape by himself is taken to mean he didnt have any coaching which is not true. Good QBs do that all the time. The writer is pushing certain narratives to sell the book. Now the coaching was bad but it doesnt mean they didnt try to help him.

It remains to be seen what good play calling effect has on our OL. If the ball is coming out quicker, the OL will look much better. We upgraded the talent and I think overlooked, is the leadership that Thuney-Dalman bring to the overall performance of the offense. We question everything because of the history of this team but I think we are underestimating what this will look like as a whole. We have more weapons, coaching that has completely changed the outcome. Time to jump on board instead of still questioning everything.

Playing well doesnt mean Pro Bowl. ( better than last year). You may be right, you dont want to let good players leave but I dont think its enough to convince the Bears that Braxton is a 20+ player. I hope Im wrong but they drafted 2 yrs in a row someone to compete with Braxton because of his lack of progress. ( a third and second round pick.)
-
When they brought in Keenum, they pretty well made the decision to keep 3 on the roster. There is someone else on the roster they can hide on the practice squad. They are allowed to carry two vets on the PS. Maybe one of the WRs?

You keep elaborting on Kmet and a future trade which I dont think applies this year but you orignally said midseason. There's no situation where they consider that this year. Even if Loveland is ballilng, you are weaking the team for more cap space? Next year is a complete different set of circumstances.
