True, the only reason I posted it is because PFF just put their ranking out
-
i get that but Penix only played 5 games, McCarthy never played last year and rank higher. Cam Ward hasnt played one snap and is only one spot behind Caleb. He at least deserves to be ranked ahead of the top of tier 4 right behind Bo Nix.

He has two more yrs on a contract that pays him a totaal of 30 mil but none of it was guaranteed and was trying to get the brass to rework the deal to give him some guaraanteed money. He was going to hold out but choose retirement to force their hand. The Lions GM is nortorious for letting good players l go instead of paying big money. J Jackson and D Swift were a part of the GMs history. They drafted Ratledge and now have him listed as the starting OC. Lions back loaded Franks contract to have 30 mil left that he could cut him once he reached that. He saves 23 mil by letting him go now. The situation is actually worse than just Ragnow being gone. Mahongany is now playing LG , a 6th round pick last year and at RG is Graham Glasgow, a 10 vet is now playing RG. That is 3 new starters in the IOL.

This is the great website PFF QB rankings for 2025. Caleb is ranked 24th under the heading Tier 4 (young players with range of potential outcome) Ahead of him are #6 Jaydon Daniels ( tier 2: high end starters) a one year of play has him in elite status? CJ Stroud #14 (tier 3b. solid starters that need more help) this is probably fair with both yrs of tape figured in In the same tier 4 as Caleb 19) Bo Nix 20) Byrce Young 21) JJ McCarthy 22) Drake Maye 23) Michael Penix They have at 25, one back of Caleb, a rookie that hasnt had a NFL snap Cameron Ward Caleb had a respectful year, not great but much better than several names ahead of them. They have added more weapons, an OL and an offensive genius in BJ. Yet Caleb is listed behind them, WTF

I understand when you say Loveland is a better recieving TE than Kmet, but you keep saying he hasnt proven himself. He did that in 2023 which prompted his contract. 73/719/6 that was good for the 9th ranked TE that year. Last year his stats regressed when he had 35 less targets. He doesnt have good hands, he has great hands. Literally led TEs the last two years in catch rate. No one is saying he is Kelce, Kittle or even Bowers but is a high end TE in the league.
-
Has anyone verified this player is well liked by DA?
-
If Caleb is humming both TEs should be 10 to 15 as far as stats. With DJ and Rome running down field, one of the TEs should be open every play.
-
He was ranked 23 . If you look at BJ run offenses, TE is an important position and if we're projecting, wouldnt you have Colston ranked higher than 23 ? Last year LaPorta was ranked 6th. Cole Kmet was ranked 18th, Kincaid was 28th. Last year was a bad year for Kmet due to a dysfuntional offense and rookie QB. Taysom Hill was ranked 15th with 23 reception/ 187 yards/ 6 TDs PFF just puts content out there that is hard to wrap your head around. If you projected a split in the total TE reps, I would say both would land in the midteens.

Its just a few observations one day at OTAs. The only opinion I care about is Ben Johnsons.
-
I have seen some things reported and jumped on it and then later found out it was wrong. Everyone has done that at some point in time.

PFF came out with their TEs ranking for 2025. Kmet is ranked 29th. Kincaid 10th Dalton Kincaid 2024 stats: 44 catches of 71 targets./448 yards- 2 TDs/ 2 drops/ 10.2 yards per reception Cole Kmet 2024 stats: 47 of 55 targets/474 yards- 4 TDs / 1 drop/ 10.1 yards per reception Dalton Kincaid 2023 stats: 71 of 93/ 673 yards- 2 TDs / 9.2 yards per reception Cole Kmet 2023 stats: 73 of 90/ 719/ 6 TDs / 9.8 per reception Kincaid had Josh Allen throwing to him. Kmet had Fields and Williams throwing to him. Can someone explain had they graded this with Kmet clearly the better TE? 2 year totals Kincaid 116 of 164 / 1021 yards/ 4 TDs Kmet 120 of 145 / 1193 yards and 10 TDs

ISPORT and SPORT FIGUR are the only two sources that announced it. Tribune and Suntimes doesnt have stories about this. No Bear beatwriter reported it. No mention on the Bears team website. They have stories of Thuney, Gordon, and Jackson extensions, why wouldnt they report 2/ 37.5 mil salary that is one of the highest per yr contract on the team? In 2026 the year extenstions start, he would be the 4th hightest paid player on the team. Im on Courtney Cronin X account and if you look at the first week of May, nothing mentioned. this is the transactions reports on the Bears website for May . The stories are reported on May 8th. Transactions 2025 2024 2023 2022 2021 2020 2019 2018 2017 2016 May 05/21 Signed OL Joe Thuney to two-year contract extension through 2027. 05/08 Signed DB Major Burns, DL Xavier Carlton, LB Power Echols, LS Luke Elkin, RB Deion Hankins, DB Tysheem Johnson, K Jonathan Kim, WR JP Richardson, DL Jereme Robinson and WR Jahdae Walker. 05/08 Signed DB Jeremiah Walker. I think these reporters ( I have never heard of) may have mistaken Jeremiah Walker signing as a Tyson Bagent signing. He got 1 yr/ 840 thousand.

I also seen where Jeff King was interviewed for a GM job but dont remember the team. If they have success this year and King leaves (Adam) would we get a pick or do you have to be black to get the comp pick?
-
You may be right but both OTC and SpoTrac show him on a 3 year deal from 2023. Tyson Bagent signed a 3 year, $2,720,000 contract with the Chicago Bears, including $25,000 signing bonus, $25,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $906,667. In 2025, Bagent will earn a base salary of $1,030,000, while carrying a cap hit of $1,038,334 and a dead cap value of $8,334. the Bears website under team shows a heading (transactions) that list every transction done since the begining of the year and I cant find that extension.
-
What ever you want to call it, he is under the original deal when we first obtained him. He was a rookie when he signed it so I called it a rookie contract, I dont know of more technical names.
-
Tyson Bagent is still on his rookie contract, I think they like him so not sure they would put him on the PS. Clearly Keenum was brought in to help mentor Caleb and may end up on the 53 man roster. I think every rookie makes the 53. They will play with the roster to guess who can be put on the PS to make sure they dont lose him.

Did you ever thing they didnt value Ersery as high as you did? If they valued him, they would have taken him. You think they moved back thinking they could still get him. Maybe they liked Trapilo more. The first four picks by their reactions, told me they wanted them, not settled for someone else. That is the reason they traded back. They also may not have seen RB as that critical of a need. That is what pundits projected. We assume a lot of what they thought, wanted, and did. Its not any different than thinking they would have took Banks. Poles has no problem moving arouind to get players, moving a couple spots to get Banks was doable if that mattered. Im saying that wasnt their plan. In the war room video, at 9.47 BJ tells Colston, he played the highlight video before the draft to give the rest of the room a little insight on where they would go. That sounds like they intented to take him. Also At 9.10 Jeff King says that the more they watched film the more that knew Colston was the pick for them. If I could see the Jeff King conversation, then I would understand your points. I have extensively looked and cant find it. Lots of tape of CC talking about the draft and who they liked, but I think more her opinion than repeating what Jeff King said. I know he had a press conference its just about how he worded statements.
-
I think DA blitzes alot and does a lot of line stunts. Im not saying we are going to have low points scored against us but will produce more TOs and big plays.
-
Since the Bears are not telling everything decision making in this draft , no one is right or wrong. I assume your talking about Ersery or a RB. They could have liked Ozzy more than Ersery but we will never know. Teams value players differently depending on how they think a player will fit their team. Everyone can be right because we will never know. I will say, Kyle Monongai was not their first, second or even 3rd choice for a RB. I still think he will ball out and none of it matters.
