  1. I going to watch more tape to see if I can get where you're at or see why other people say what they say. I have the time to do that.
  2. That's the risk, being wrong,no one knows a person is going to be Hall of Famer in a pre draft rookie season.
  3. Serious question, how much tape have you watched? DJ, Dane Brugler watches every snap of a players career. They don't base an opinion on highlight films and a few game films.
  4. I looked at the speed of all our WRs and only Duvernay is under 4.4. 4.39. I had seen Golden ran a 4.25 at his pro day and 4.29 at the combine. If he wants speed and another weapon, Golden is easily the choice. There's only a couple speed WRs he is the second highest rated wideout after McMillan. TE, DE, RB ,DT and OL has good choices in the 2nd and 3 rd. Also Draft Buzz gives him a 67% blocking grade, something Ben said was necessary for his WRs. I have mentioned before to not sleep on this as our pick.
  5. I want) a great pass rusher, that would add so much to the defense, could be DE or DT. Tyrek Williams or James Pierce Don't want) Shemar Stewart, I hate players with no production Surprise) Matt Golden, this team is missing that one speed merchant Ben had in Detroit. He is now rated in the teens. They do) trade back and get Kenneth Grant or Walter Nolen. I think they need one more rotation guy at DT. Billings -Jarret-Dexter , missing the 4 th DT
  6. It's not just grabbing the next Payton or Donald is also about losing some great assets. I think the only player worth moving up for is Carter. We would have to move to 2 or 3 to get him. He will cost more than one second rounder to move there. Let's say 39+72 and a future? We are still building the roster, doubt that happens.
  7. I wasn't specific but mainly Mason Graham dropping to 10. Every year one top rated player goes later than expected. When the draft process started Membou was considered a 3rd or 4th round pick and now he's into the top 10 ( maybe). He's always had good tape but everyone never seen him as much of an athlete. As the draft process moved along more people investigated him . So the same names keep popping up in the top 10 , who might go later than expected? Hunter, Jeanty, Warren, Carter are no brainers top of the draft but Mason was smaller and shorter than people thought so it has thrown some doubt on him. Also a smallish Walker as a DE may go later as lots of GMs love size. Has Campbell slipped because of his measurements? Just curious who you guys think drops?
  8. I am so glad we are finally knocking on the door of the draft. So far I've counted 83 perfect bears mock drafts I've read. The Jeanty love fest will finally be over. I get people wanting a quality player but the amount of people thinking we are going to move up to draft him is insane. Everyone celebrating 4 top 72 picks and then turning around and give some of those picks away to move up. Those 4 picks should be quality starters if not this year but in the near future. We have more than one need, so taking away picks makes no sense to me.
  9. I actually think most could play there but I heard Dane Brugler say he has the worst wingspan differential in this draft which means his wingspan is shorter than his height. Only one starter last year in the NFL had short arms. With most speed rushers these days having length it's just a disadvantage to have his measurables playing LT.
  10. I don't think it would matter but he's to small in size to fit DAs prototype. More from a sense of power and strength.
  11. As much as this is BS season, there always seems to be one player that drops. Carter was supposed to be the best player in the draft and he dropped to 9 that year.
  12. Lately I've seen him drop in the draft, and have no idea why. Easy answer no one knows what they're talking about. Would love to get a blue chip player.
  13. Does everyone know who Brandon Thorn is? He's supposed to be a OL guru. He has a sub stack that costs money to get his newsletter. He did his annual report ( My guys) listing his 32 top OL in the draft . He puts out a teaser giving you his favorite guy in each round. Does anyone get that? This year ( as a late first round pick) Simmons. if he wasn't injured, he said would have been the first T off the board. Round 2 is Booker Round 3 is Rutledge Round 4 and later Izzy Trapilo I was curious of his full ranking.
  14. I get where you're coming from. Without knowing how much tape you watched, I am to assume your opinion is more valuable than someone that literally watches every minute of tape on a player in his whole career. Tapes of practices, maybe met in person , looks at all the measurements. I can't say they all do that but I do know Dane Brugler does that. I plumbed for 55 years of which I'm going to stop working altogether when I go home. I worked with people that had 5 maybe 10 years experience and think they're the genius in the room. I just let them talk. Plumbing isn't brain surgery but 50 years of experience does put you in a place most workers never get to . I never puff my chest out, let people talk. Then one day there's a problem they can't figure out and ask me for my help. I probably have dealt with that before. My point is experience matters in most cases.
  15. I agree last time in the top 10. I would say 20 and lower going forward. I also agree the majority of starting LTs were picked in the top 15. The 10 highest paid LTs 5 = top 15, 1 =20, 1=23, 1= 53, 1= 4th round 1= 7th round. So if we want one, 10 probably needs to address that. Only a few were day 1 kicking butt, most were developed. Campbell, Membou, Banks considered the top 3 by most scouts. If they seem one destintin for stardom, I'm all in. It's for them to decide not me. I personally think Campbell will eventually be a OG, Membou will be a RT. So we can only hope Banks is the man or someone else they may want.
  16. I already think that, Mathew Golden. We're not going to be picking this high again. 4.25 speed. Do not discount Ben adding a weapon with speed. I'm not asking for that but that would surprise everyone.
  17. We all just have opinions right and wrong. I mention highly respected people and their opinions and it's an echo chamber. You keep mentioning Draft Buzz and Phil and his dad. Explain to me how that's different? NFL drafting is not a science like chemistry, there is no wrong or right opinions before a draft. After the draft 50% of the first round picks fail. It doesn't matter who I like or you like that's just fantasy football. I think we are trying to predict who the Bears pick. It's not whether mine or your opinion turns out true. Technically we won't know the answer to these questions for 3 years. That's the amount of time most prospects take to develop. I still think Caleb will be the best QB out of the last draft but he surely wasn't last year. We can't base a statement in one year of information. Also both could be all pro players or not. The point is this debate of ours is passionate, entertaining or stupid but it actually doesn't matter, it's just sport conversations NFL fans have. I have a lot of Packers fans as friends. This really isn't any different than those conservation's but it's more fun when the Bears are better. I look at podcasts,, articles, mock drafts not because I'm trying to think I'm smarter than them , it's just entertainment. We are in the dawn of a consistent winning bear's team and we all should be very happy. I think it's actually going to happen this time.
  18. You're correct, not any different than your echo chamber. If Banks is as good as you say he is is, he will be gone before 10. Most predicted the teens. We'll see who's opinion wins out.
  19. I think the fact some of the smartest scouts doing analyzing are all over the place explains the 10-50 same players mentality. If he's correct, we getting a good player at 72. Trading back a couple of times could net us great value w extra picks. I totally agree with Campbell not being top 10 mainly because he ends up at guard instead of tackle. Most are consistent with the top 6 players. Hunter and Carter will never reach us and Walker just doesn't seem like a scheme fit. I'm finding it more than likely Jeanty and Warren never get there either. Hope Mason Graham slips. If Johnson wants a weapon first don't discount Golden could be our first pick He is consistently top 20 on mocks I've seen lately. Under 4.3 speed will grab Ben's attention.
  20. That's a good point. They did what we did this year and added 3 OL in free agency. They're a LT away from a major upgrade. The problem is Campbell and Membou aren't true LT prospects. Jeanty is one of the blue chip players. At 4 you to have draft one of them.
  21. I don't want Stewart but you may be right. With his traits, why didn't he produce more stats? I think I read somewhere he has 102 pressures in the last 2 yrs. If that's true he is affecting the game just needs to finish better . What position would have the biggest impact in this team in the first year? Jeanty, Warren, Golden all could be talked about as opening up the offense more. I think sacks would make a big difference which could be DT or DE. One great pass rusher would make the DL stout with Sweat and Dexter. A LT to solidify the OL? The problem is every rookie has a learning curve plus this draft is considered weak for LT. I hope Mason Graham drops and the conversation stops. Otherwise we have to see the players they value. It's really going to be the combo of our first 4 picks that's going to matter. I want a ( any order) LT, RB, DT and DE. Two different people can watch one play and come out with a different opinion.. That Phil tape you posted is an example. One play Banks got pushed back into the QB but they didn't sack him. For you, Banks won that play. Someone else says he gave up a pressure and that was a loss play. This isn't a science, it's just what we see.
  22. Just listen to the Score segment with Ourlads leading scout. ( They are a scouting report that 26 NFL teams purchase every year) and he was saying NEs going to draft Jeanty. I haven't heard one other pundit say that. It actually makes sense with Vrabel being their new coach . Derrick Henry was his offense in Tennessee. Also that the bears will have the choice of the first tackle off the board Campbell or Membou. He says he thinks they take Campbell. Haugh mentioned Banks and he said as a freshman banks was rated to be the best OT in this draft but has never gotten better in 3 years. He says he will be moved to guard in the NFL. He also said Campbell will be tried at LT but he used a term I have never before ( wingspan differential) and said it's the worst of any lineman this year. His wingspan is shorter than his height. He said his tape is good against elite competition but will eventually be moved to guard. None of that interview suggests we should draft him at 10. Also he thinks Mason Graham will be available at 10 .
  23. I am seeing a lot more love for Banks lately. That's probably not a good thing because that means he's not going to be there at 10.
  24. When is the last time you disagreed with Phil on a player? When I look to find people that agree with my opinion that is what I post. Lets say 50% agree and disagree with. I'm going to show you the people that align with my opinion. I would say the fact they (scouts) are divided makes a statement in itself to me. If we draft him at 10 then the bears see him as a plus player, if they don't that means they have or just find another more valuable to them. I trust the Bears scouting gives them much more perspective than me. If we take him, I hope he becomes a pro bowl type. If he is just a little better than Braxton, I would say that's a fail.( Didn't live up to expectations).
