  1. Totally trust Poles to make the right decision, no matter who is the QB, he made that decision with complete scrutiny. He has made some mistakes but I think he made the Claypool and V Jones decisions because he was listening to everyone saying he had to get more weapons. Now he's going to do to make the right decisions and forget outside noise. Williams, Field's, Maye or McCarthy, I don't have to be right , just him getting it right. It's about what's best for the Bears future.
  2. I think he had a few exceptional years , got paid, injuries started coming and he got comfortable. The mistake was Pace paying him that big a contract. Poles isn't going to be making those mistakes. Sweat deal had to be done but , you can find Ss at cheaper costs. That's why I think he tags JJ and doesn't give him the big contract. He will offer him 20 mil, if doesn't take it, goodbye (Roquan Smith). He can tag him two years and still will be cheaper than the 23 mil he's going to ask for . He didn't draft Terrell Smith for fun, one more year and he will take JJs place.
  3. That get back is a little light for moving 7 spots and a player .
  4. I never double checked the info, so hold until you see more
  5. I would love it if that worked out that way. I think they tag JJ, he said that now he wants to be highest paid CB.
  6. Other than a new LT, you are spot on. I dont think he gives up on Braxton. Not saying Braxton will be top 10 but if he stays in the top 15 at his price its a win win. Past the QB question , weapons and DL are his prime targets.
  7. Other than MHJ, Bowers is the next best weapons option in the draft.
  8. All options are on the table, it makes for the biggest off season we have ever had. IMO they keep Fields and draft a QB is his best option. If Williams is Mahomes !!, sign me up. If we get a draft load and MHJ, I'm all in. I like all the options.
  9. Next time I see( maybe) and (chances are) used in legal documents or sciientific papers, I'll come on and say how I screwed that up. I swear you said that my posts are so stupid that you lost all respect for mu opinions and weren't responding to me anymore.
  10. He definitely has to make a decision on Fields, i just dont thinks its this year. If he takes Williams, that process goes away. I still think he will keep Fields and draft a QB ,maybe with the second round pick. McCarthy, Nix, Penix, or a surprise pick. He developes him in one or two years, he moves on from Fields unless we make a trip to the SB. He can bring him back and not pick up the option. Giants did that with Jones. The first pick in the draft will make more money than Justin does this year. I think Poles is using this year to advance the talent on the roster and still have a QB option. KC is in the SB with paying a 57 mil, 27 mil, 25 mil, 15 mil, 14 mil, 14 mil, and 11 mil in contracts. They will have 24 mil to the good in cap space this year. We dont have to worry about money for two years.
  11. There is nothing in that video that tells anything new, people act like we learned some secret news . Watch the video in the first minute and a half and at 4:30 to 5:25 I never said Scheftner is full of crap its just( this is nothing). If you see something different so be it. They are just having a conversation, he's not reporting a news flash.
  12. If Bowers is Kittle like and we drop back in the top ten, he will be a consideration. Waldron run two TE sets, for example: in the Detriot game that turned into 11 completions for 161 yards. Those plays were highly suscessful and helped in the power running game also .
  13. ARZ isnt trading for Fields but Pitt is in play but Pittsburgh never wastes value. They can offer their second and still have a chance to get him. There is 6 draftable QBs, 3 will go top 10, and they will have a chance at McCarthy, Nix, and Penix w/o giving up a pick. If they trade for Justin, they know they have to pay him in two years, so if we get rid of him for that reason, they wont take him for that reason. Only Ptt from 16 to 32 has a need for a QB. No one is giving a top 15 pick for Justin. Scheftiy said that he is worth 2 firsts at the minimum so say 40 comes back and maybe one more. That's probably.
  14. Read it how you like, he didnt say anything we dont already know (2nd round pick maybe a first) I seen the video. He wasnt specific about anything. The chance that Poles takes Williams is high He didnt lie about anything, he didnt provide inside information. I would love to get a first but he talks about hypotheticals. What in this video am that I"m missing?
  15. I agree money will come into play but not for several years. 6 mil this year, 25 mil if we pick up the option for 2025. The tag for a QB in 2024 is 35 mil . It will be a little higher in 2026. say 40 mil? The cap will continue to climb and Poles is managing the cap well. Only 7 players over 10 mil this year. 2 of those will be gone this year and in 2025 both Nate Davis and Edmunds could be cut with only 7 mil in dead money. In 2026 only Sweat and Kmet are over 10 mil. We will resign Moore (23 mil?) The base will all be young players on cheap contracts, Poles moves are surgical to allow to pay QB in 2026. He will load up on draft picks and keep the cycle going. he will bring in people like Billings, Walker and Edwards, that total 16 mil in year 2025. This year he will tag JJ for 18.4 mil, 2025 it will cost 20 mil to tag him. By then Terrel Smith will unseat JJ. He will sign a few FAs to contracts like Edwards, and Billings. I doubt he signs another big contract. He will bring in a WR, FS,OC,3 T all on contracts under 10 mil. The other spots will be filled by the draft. Money is not a problem period.
  16. Mahomes would not have been ruined but wouldn't be the QB he is today. Maybe moving on from Williams is regretful but winning is all that matters. If Poles takes a different path, he won't regret it as long as we get to the same end. Does SF regret taking Lance, yes , and their in the SB anyway.
  17. If he trades him, a first would be great, it definitely increases the odds he may trade him. It's funny that media argues to get rid of him because he's bad and turn around and say ( he's worth a first round pick). The media is so flippant.
  18. That's funny, if Poles drafts Williams, I have no problem with it at all, if he retains Fields, you will. Showing other liked minded peoples posts is not pushing anything , it's equally expressing one side of a conversation. It's not any different that you stating your opinion. I'm not getting upset over your opinion but you are mine. It's not any different than saying I liked Flus coming back, you did not. Poles kept Flus, The nonsense is you complaining about Flus, he's our coach and your opinion changed nothing.
  19. He gets inside information and a first would be great but this time of year a lot of crab floating out there. Second is the reasonable answer. What GM is going to tell any reporter what he's going to do this early , the process is just starting, it's not a week from the draft. Speculation or false reporting are options to. Most new coaches are from teams needing QBs, you think new hires already have their plans finished?
  20. If Poles thinks Caleb is special, he's not passing on him for a few picks. The key to the conversation is what Poles thinks? No one knows, people only guess or think it's not debatable but most people thought Flus was gone, that didn't happen. So much for guessing.
  21. ( That's what I'm hearing) from who? The only substantial study done with that was one writer send a questionnaire to all 32 GMs. 10 responded to it. A few said a second round , 4 said a third and a few had multi picks like a second and a forth, a third and fifth. None said a # 1. I will try to find the article , I think he was with ESPN or the Athletic.
  22. This is long but at 1:02 Cris Simms gives an interview. He has a feeling that the Bears will draft CW but does like Justin. Runs the whole gamit of the argument.
