  1. Would love that to happen but probably not realistic.
  2. Not all scouts are good at their job, Ourlads are former scouts that run a evaluation service that 16 teams use during their process. Their top 32 always look different that most so called experts. They always are pretty accurate with the top 32 players, not as for as which team takes them but who is .
  3. If he makes the right decision this year, he's going to be here for a very long time. He could set the team up for several years to come. Classy, down to earth and Smart.
  4. I agree with that. How he manages trades come into play whether first pick or trading Justin. I think the high picks all go into offense this year. He's added a lot of money and picks on the D side. I think this draft concentrates on more balance with spending.
  5. That's a good video, I didn't think he defined anything we don't already know. He doesn't think Justin is great and needs work. It comes down to evaluating the rookies and comparing them to how much better he thinks Justin can get. If it was Justin vs Williams having such a high ceiling, Justin loses that battle but draft picks are involved with keeping Justin. They are part of the equation. I think if someone offers a first round pick for Justin, it's a no brainer. Or 2 seconds. Probably gone.
  6. Those are opinions. Two ways to look at the future, what I want to happen and what I think the Bears will do. Those aren't always the same. I wish i had control of actual reality because I view things with a positive outcome and want the Bears to succeed no matter who the QB is, who the coach is. I never care about if I was right or wrong, it's about Poles getting it right . I've been a fan since Butkus put his jersey on, and that's years of losing. I want some more wins in my future.
  7. First of all , I'm not speaking to you or anyone on this site. I listen to the SCORE and numbous podcasts all day and am referring to the general tone that most media take on the Fields situation. For some reason you think everything I say refers to you. Anything you post on here that has over 50 words in it, i never read of yours anyway. The sooner you realize I care less what you think the better this site will be.
  8. Listen to a ESPN podcast with Brandon Thorn, an OL guru was talking about centers and rated 3 as first game starters. jPJ, Zack Frazier, and Greg Barton. I don't think we are in the position to draft JPJ but Zack Frazier is a 4 time state heavyweight wrestling champion. A lot of the best OL players over the years were former wrestlers. The skills that brings are excellent for the trenches. Frazier should go second to third round range, that's doable for us.
  9. Explain how Flus and Poles totally supported Fields before ( that didn't mean anything) , now that they discussed the possibility of the other options ( he's gone). It's funny how people try to read into each word like it's gold star statement. Until he vents these rookie QBs , he hasn't made a decision yet. There's no logic to assuming anything right now.
  10. Heard Greg Gabriel spoke to a credible source ( not his opinion) that stated the Bears are leaning towards trading the first pick and Justin Fields. With this fandom war over Justin and Caleb over the last few months and then they go after a different QB would be iconic. Maye, Daniels, JJ McCarthy or who? The only other QB that I see as possible is Penix. Has some good traits but not sure about his injury concerns.
  11. Many ways to go, trading the first pick and still grabbing a QB is high up there. If he rates QB 1a,1b,1c, they may be close enough in value to be willing to take any of the 3. Daniels is the fastest of the top QBs, and Poles likes speed. He could trade twice and still get one of the top 3. Is 4 or 5 more blue chip worth taking your 1c QB? Maybe. I trust Poles to make the right choice.
  12. When the character issue is so important , until they have that with Caleb, he hasn't made any decisions. After the combine, we will have a better impression on the direction he's headed.
  13. If you keep getting future picks you can keep the cycle going. When contracts are due you sign the most important FAs and trade or let them walk and you get compensation picks. NE did that forever and they someone there to take his place. That is the importance of future picks.
  14. You never know how things turn out but , I would say top 10 pick is realistic. If a QB emerges, two first round picks could move you up. We have to keep in mind we are 2 years into a rebuild, this is the year we see the results staring to take over the team. A rookie QB would set back his plan on every year draft wealth , to continue infinity. Just being a little more patient and everything will start to show itself to be winning every year.
  15. The two most influential picks this year that will put us in the position to win is a DL and a weapon. Correct points.
  16. Good points, Poles has to win this year, which option puts him in a better position to win? A rookie is more likely to have Bryce Young year than Stroud . I think that is counter productive.
  17. What I find interesting is you have no idea if any of these QBs are top tier QBs and yet you keep pushing to draft one. At least follow the process before you claim a generational QB exists. That would be more realistic.
  18. Great points, only a few # 1 picks QBs on that list. Some. # 1s were not great QBs, Eli and Matt Ryan to point.
  19. Of course drafting Brady (6 th round) or a Mahomes ( third QB in draft year) is worth it. They are rare and many more misses than wins picking high. Trevor Lawrence was rated as a can't miss prospect. Last year he had 4016 yards, 7.1 per attempt 21 TDs, 14 int. 88.5 rating. That's good not great. He finished 11 in the league. Last year Fields had 16 TDs, 7 int with a 86.3 rating with missing 4 games. The point being , with more talent and better coaching he can easily be Lawrence type numbers. Neither are generational types.
  20. What was refreshing to hear was Peter King stating he knows nothing. Most writers claim to have a source, he was being honest. Poles lets no info out, so anyone saying anything is speculation. A bunch of podcasts are now saying, because of Peter King, that trading is possible . It's always been an option. Getting these many prospects will set this franchise up for years to come. They can become NE, where when people have to get paid, you can move on to the new guys. It's a forever cycle once you get it started. With three 1s next you can keep gathering future picks. The option of adding many first and second round picks eliminates missing on the first pick and losing your job. It will enhance winning for the next few years.
  21. We're getting two quality players, any combination makes us better.
  22. When you rebuild a team, you need players at every position. He takes the BPA and fills needs at the same time. He follows his board. He has a plan. You can do both.
  23. Seems realistic also. Lots of dreaming with mock drafts, be some are more real than others.
  24. After QB what are the most important positions? You can look at what their paid. Not in any order LT, WR, Edge and CB. We don't need a CB, so those are the positions that will be drafted top 10. People like Bowers or a Jaylon Carter type pop up once in a while but not the norm. After QB, which players would have the most impact right away? Figure in our needs and it's probably edge or WR. Bowers and Newton could be considered. I think our LT is good enough to not consider in a top 10 pick. Poles is a OL guru ( self clamied) so it could be a LT, if he thinks Braxton can play somewhere else.
