The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!
Stinger226 replied to adam's topic in Bearstalk
NFL+ charges , I have bought the last 4 yrs but got this app in Thailand that lets me watch free. I dropped all my subs and now for what averages 20 a month, I save 50 a month. So far so good ( I dropped cable TV 5 yrs ago ) . I now have a Antenna for 15 free stations and the APP. If you subscribe be sure to drop the the sub right away because it goes auto sub. I have been jacked with that before. -
Only refering to passing downs.

Poles tied to trade for Judson but the money you would have had to pay him killed the deal. He will only add if he can get a team friendly deal. Also I seen where Connor Williams only signed for a 1 yr deal ffor 4 mil. There must be some concerns about his injury. -

I was wondering how this all worked because it has always run so smooth for so long. Whoever set this up did a good job.

Also Jordan Addison got carted off the field. Not sure how bad it is. -
I think the 4th RB will be V Jones instead of Homer. That may mean no more FB with the possiblity of a 4th TE. They can line him up in the backful on blocking plays.

Last year we had a slow start to the season, and I think because of the lack of reps. I think you need to not worry about injuries, they seem to be aware of taking it slow with small injuries but healthy players need to get reps. -
I dont think Kiwan will be readt to play so that may keep Borom here for a bit. Also I think they keep 8 DL. The TEs are young so I think they try to get a few on the practice squad like Carlson and Bates. Waldron likes to use TEs. Gill Murray has played at OT and OG, he may slide in their at some point, he has played well.

He doesnt need to start to make a big impact on the DL. D Walker can rush from the inside, imagine Booker, Dexter,Walker and Sweat om the field at the same time? That could be deadly.

The first video stated he is 240 lbs. He dropped weight for the combine, normally he played at 254. I expect he put the weight back on. I would say his frame could handle 260 lbs. He will become a monster once he gets strength. What we have to remember, he is 21 yrs old, he now has the advantage of the NFL program on nutrition, workouts and Eric Washington to make him a stud. Not sure how quickly he grows but Sweat hasnt played the first 2 games and once he plays reguarly, lots of oppurtunities to show his stuff.

when Poles said it was going to be hard to make this team, he wasnt kidding. Many cuts will be picked up by other teams. From year 1 until now, huge upgrade in talent. Here is a video talking about fringe players. Brenden Bates Bill Murray are making the case to make the 53.

Preseason Week 1 Game Thread - Bears at Bills, NFLN, Sat, 8-12, 12pm Central

I watched replay several times and ther OL did better than i expected. We will run the ball well and Waldron is good with mixing it up. There doesnt seem to have a lot of missteps, seemed organized. The DL seems set barring injures. I doubt Poles brings in any more bodies, i think he trusts his depth. -

K Allen didnt play. He's an old man, they want him healthy. One of these games they will leave the first team on for a half, we will see him then. -
Of course the competition is below standard but its better than not being noticed at all. I dont think he starts but positive plays is a confident builder. He at least can contribute on a rotation basis.

Our depth seems to be better than past yrs. Who sticks around out of the backups? -

Waldron must want to take advantage of his speed as far as putting him at RB. He didnt play his first game what suggests he already made the team. Fumbling will give him a quick exit if it continues. -

Just got back from Sturgis just in time to see the game. Caleb looked in control and nice throws. (two were dropped) They seem to want to get V Jones indocternaded in the offence. Are able to pressure the QB Can run the ball -
The Football Scout has al lot of Bear content. It shows Booker has some good traits and will eventually show up in pressures and sacks. Like he said, he will probably be a situational pass rusher in the begining.

I missed most of the interview but heard someone mention 48 snaps. I thought it was Wanny but probably Spegs. -
That list was just probable keepers but Carter would seem to be odd man out. Yhey have 2 speed backups in Jones and Scott.

You're spot on Troy directed a quetion to Poles( saying his name) and Warren answered it. Everybody (Media) said Warren came in to take over control of running the team. He was a former lawyer would run the finances part of the Vikings stadium. That's what he was hired to do. Eventually he will gain more control and become part of the decision makers. He has no experience in personal , coaches or players. For now, they run information by him to keep him in the loop, but leaves Ian and Poles to decide. Kinda hard for him to fire somebody if he is the final say. He would have to fire himself if part of decision making.

I dont think Warren contributed much to the draft. I think its Ian and Poles doing the work. Warren is a finance guy and kind of the politician in the group. Of course he inject himself in the conversation.
