Thank you for clarification, Justin is a piece of shit Justin is a turd. I'm a plumber, I got the terms confused.
-
If they take a QB that only leaves 2 high picks to look for starters. The fourth rounders could contribute but not expected. He's trading the first pick and probably both.
-
Lets just look at him as a vet backup and 4 mil is the going rate for that type of player. He can play several positions. Poles is not done with the center position. Doubt we ever get to draft JPJ but maybe Zach Frazier. Brian Allen was released but has injuries concern, maybe he brings him in with Bates as the backup plan.
-
People have been trying to say ( they mutually agreed to a late March meeting) that's bullshit, the Bears wanted to finish the medicals so they could plan to take him, trade Justin but the me. me candidate is doing stuff his way.
-
To be honest, any rookie coming out should have some time to develop instead of being thrown in the fire right away. Jordon Love wouldn't have developed if he started from day one, he sat 3 years. That's way I still think the scenario where Justin and another QB is still a strong option.
-
Nobody is doubting his talent, it's about questions on the intangibles. Leadership, treat me special attitude. Lots of QBs, with talent have failed at the NFL level. You always speak in absolutes, Justin is terrible, if you don't like Caleb, you're a hater. You are the only one that looks at things that way. You can actually like players for several reasons. I swear you said that Justin was a piece of shit one time. That is the way haters talk. No one looked at Pat Mahones tape and said he was generational, the evaluating system is flawed. If Pat didn't go to KC, sat for a year, got on a team with great coaching and well built team, he wouldn't be considered great right now.

If 10.4 is all he cost, easily could get him but I have seen he rated on several sites as the best safety available and think he's getting 14+. That small amount will take us out of the picture. If he spends money it will in the offense side of the ball. Would love to have him but look at Poles history one large contract per season. I predict he brings in Blackmon. Played under Flus as a rookie from the colts. OTC has his value as 14 mil, they are always more accurate than spotrac that's why I always use them. He had 88 ts, 4 int, 2 FF and 8 PDs. OTC has his value at 7.8mil. I just seen where JJ played ball with Julian at Utah. Wonder if that affects anything.

The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!

I think all of them have flaws, even Caleb. He had 60 plays this year where held on to ball 6 secs or more. I will go back and look but I'm sure Mahomes tape was flawed or he wouldn't have been the third QB taken . Coaching and built roster matter. I think probably everyone of them could sit for a year and have much better results. But as we know, patientence is no longer an NFL value. -
Watch some tape on Bates and lots of good things to see. He is better at pass blocking than the run. Good at the point of attack. Watch some reps where he manhandled Billings on a few plays and Wilkins from Miami. That's no easy task. From what I could understand, they were grooming Bates to take over for Mitch Morse, who's 32. They have cap issues and can pay a minimum salary instead of 4 a mil a year so they traded him .

If you noticed I'm on here alot irritating people ( not intentionally),because I'm in Thailand and have a lot of free time on my hands. I'm hitting the NFL off-season hard because I can. I'm 13 hours different from Chicago so I'm either early or late with my posts. This is the best Bears off-season I've ever been involved with. I think no matter what choices Poles makes we're going to be a good team this year. Been a fan since 1966 and I love this kind of stuff. -
Was it Watson because of is legal problems but was traded, not signed by Houston?.
-
They will definitely target a FS but I'm not sure if he will be to expensive. U tink Poles starts running money to offense. The last two years most of the went to the D. DJ Moore is the only big money offense guy. Kmet has money but at 11.6 a year, that's now a mid level signing. There will be a few 9 to 11 mil contracts, no more 15mil and above.Poles keeps the cap healthy by not over spending .
-
I could also see the Wisconsin center being drafted, He also plays multi positions. He's mean.Tanor Bortolini.
-
I think they are doing that for JJ to get a realistic view of is worth. They are probably only a few mil a year apart but Poles plays hardball , JJ has to back off the highest paid contract narrative.
-
He was a quality CB, just didn't get the TOs. Last year changed after we finally got a pass rusher. Poles sticks value on players and doesn't exceed that. Roqaun Smith was also an all pro. This is how he keeps good cap space. At worst he's here one more year and gives Terrell Smith time to develop more. Its not a problem.

This is April fools day every day these days. Some rumors may. be true but which ones are ?

You don't have to like Flus but if we make the playoffs and have a top 3 defense, will you change your mind? If one in a million chance happens and Justin is here, how will you react to that? I have never said your opinions are ridiculous or just Justin hating but there are more than one option. I just keep that part of the conversation alive since half the,fan base likes Justin.
-
Okay, I understand now, you're just giving your opinions, not predicting anything. Im only throwing out my opinions , the same as you. So Justin is gone and we're drafting a QB isn't a prediction. Got it.
-
I have already stated, I have no problem if Poles decides to draft Williams, a different QB, or brings Justin back for another year. I'm stuck on looking at all the options. Why is that a problem for you? Poles is in the best spot to make the right choice. I'm all in on the team winning, not that I guessed right.

If i remember correctly, didn't Justin play well against the Broncos? Maybe Payton looks to Justin for his answers. 28/35 335 4 tds, 1 int. Rushing 4 for 25 yards. They have pick 52 in the second. Payton knows how to build an offense around the talent of the QB. They are in the hole because of dead money with Wilson. Fields is only making 8 mil this year, picking up his 5 th option, goes into effect after the Wilson dead money is off the books. They have 7 players over 13 mil a year. Anyone want Justin Simmons , Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, DT Zack Allen. Allen had 56 Ts, 5 sacks, 1 FF, 1 Pd, 50 pressures. He's 27, 6'5", 285. His salary for 2024/ 19 mil, 2025 17 mil, 2026/3.7 mil. That's a doable contract. How about trade Justin for Jerry Jeudy and Zach Allen. Jeudy makes 13 mil in the last year of his contract. Did 54-758 2 TDs. Missed one game to injuries. It would save Denver 20 mil if these 2 were traded according to OTC. How would the WR room look with DJ, Jeudy, Brian Thomas, Tyler Scott.+1 Just playing fantasy football. -
I think the writing is on the wall, it's not Justin being traded but the first pick instead. Caleb blowing off the physical, first at the Combine then 2 days later takes Poles out of the Williams market. He may trade back and take Maye or Daniels but not doing the Williams pick anymore. IMO.
-
Totally understand your points, no problem with your opinion. Other people don't share your opinion but you keep saying ( baffled anyone thinks otherwise) and then compare (thinking Justin isn't terrible), to flat earth truthers. Those comments speak for themselves . There is no right or wrong about Flus. Only your prediction he was gone was wrong. He may very well valid your opinion or he could turn out to be a good HC. We have a front row seat to that movie. The right or wrong about Flus will happen one year from now after they play a season of football. The Bears are my favorite sports team and I'm routing for them to win, not be right about a coaching decision.
-
We agree on something. The NFL media is pounding the idea he is traded before free agency. No way that happens. I agree he has no value right now. He will be teams options when teams don't get players they want. IF he gets traded, it will be during the draft only after Poles gets the QB he wants. Its also Poles backup plan.
-
Bates backed up Mitch Morse considered one of the best centers in the league last year. At worst a quality backup with a chance to start at center. A 5 th rounder he would have gotten sits at least one year before he helps the team. This is a quality value move that is a better option than Patrick ever was. He's going to add a rookie but not in the first round. I think this is a sign we will be moving out of our picks for more draft capital now that he only has 5 available right now. 2 1sts, 1 3rd, and 2 4 ths. No way he's going with that in the draft. Scenario :_ he moves 1 to 2 and gets 2 extra 2nd round picks and a future 2 nd. Trades back from 2 to 8_with Atlanta and gets another 2 nd, 3 rd and a future 1. If he drafts a QB , he could at 8. JJM, Nix or Penix could still be there. Anyone other than Williams will need a year to sit. I'm back on the Justin stays for another year and we draft a developmental QB kick. He's not trading Fields and he's not drafting Williams. A GM that wants to build thru the draft is not staying with only 5 picks. IMO this is the route Poles takes. I am predicting this, not trying to valid my opinion. Ends up with 9 picks in this draft all 4 th round and higher. Adds 2 future picks also. He's trying to win this year and have a future QB to continue with.
-
I agree , he's much better than Patrick or Whitehair was last year. I think we draft a center but it won't be in the first few rounds.
